  1. can you send me a pic? i'm interested bikeage77 at yahoo dot com thanks!
  2. i wonder if this will make it easier to get Yount since I got a younger cousin that is 12, and would care less about the autograph but love to go to a game where i buy her hotdogs and soda all night.
  3. It doesn't look like there's a thread for this anywhere, but it was just on Channel 4 news. He doesn't think he can legitimately compete anymore. Probably not the biggest, or most surprising news, but Mulder was a name that has been bouncing around a lot the past few months.
  4. On one hand, I'm kinda bummed out as I was thinking of getting a Hoffman jersey signed this year. On the other hand, I've done a pretty good job of getting any players I wanted up to this point, so for me to go to auto fridays instead of tailgating with my friends won't be the end of the world. If there's an item I'd really like to get signed, I'll pony up for it, hopefully this won't cause prices of sigs to go way up because the demand will now be higher.
  5. My insurance guy is trying to see if through my renters and auto if they can find some kinda package somehow. He's gonna shop around for me on monday, and get back to me. 20fry, I'll keep you posted if I get anything. I asked him about antiques because those can be insured, and there's something you can get there, but the stuff we have isn't considered antiques (unless someone here has a ty cobb bat and is holding out)
  6. I just got off the phone with my insurance guy, right now I'm renting, and have renters insurance. However, in case of a fire, memorabilia is not covered because it's considered "sentimental value" which, yah, for the most part I got a lot of my autographs in person, and somethings were handed down to me from my grandpa. However, these are things that total up to thousands of dollars all in all., and Badger Mutual won't give me a policy for it. Apparently most insurance places don't cover it unless it is in a home you own. Any of you guys renting and have insurance on your collection? How much did it cost? Who'd you go through. I'd like to be able to think that most items could be replaced if I were to come home to see my house had just burned down or robbed or whatever. This is frustrating to say the least.
  7. did they have a special one the last year of county? what about the years for the all star game? those are my guesses.
  8. they had em for a buck at the brewers rummage sale during the on deck. i got one, but it got krinkled in my bag...bummer
  9. look in myspace.com try to find the old gary and cliff show, i believe they had both of those up, and while i don't think you can download em, a program like audiocity can easily record them and convert them to mp3. there's a few other brewers myspace pages out there that have brewers related mp3s. search around, shouldn't be too tough! www.myspace.com/momacs has "lets hear it for the brew crew"
  10. I would doubt the snappers will do another Brewers bobble for a long time, maybe somewhere down the line they'll do yet another Prince or something, but by now it's been long enough that the Twins have players coming up through their organization that played in Beloit. That's my thought at least.
  11. We got Vaughn to start signing while he was finishing up taking pictures, my buddy asked him to put "Vaughn's Valley" but he wouldn't do it. Brian, you cleaned house!
  12. I see a lot of Fingers signed balls go around about 35 (with HOF inscription) I'd guess the stats would bump that to 75-100 range? I don't think it'd fetch more than that. Did you get it all at a signing, a dealer/ebay, or get it as a gift?
  13. Thanks Justin, that's what I had thought, and overtime forgot what it was for. I initially thought it was his first HR.
  14. You're totally right. I never get to check out the rummage stuff until it's pretty dwindled so got over there right away, and think I made the most of it. I'm happy for you guys that you were able to get Yount! Gettting Vaughn was pretty great too, as he was probably my second favorite Brewer growing up. You and the rest of your party were great company in line. Still gotta figure out the significance of that Escobar ticket stub, or I'll try to get my money back from that guy http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. great time, i got there about 7:10, but was discouraged by the people ahead of us to go for yount, in retrospect prolly coulda got him. I did however get to the rummage area right away and picked up the following: Cameron signed ball Hardy signed ball Kendall signed ball Koskie game used bat Branyan BP jersey "5 Homerun" poster Then we got to Yo which was almost confusing to find because of all the people in line for Yount and Braun, but we got in there with barely a line. Pretty good after putzing around for 15 minutes at the rummage After that I got bought a Cecil Cooper SS ball Svuem and Deer easter signed ball Near the end of Weeks signing the Escobar/Gamel line was already getting long, so we jumped in that around 12:30/1 and got them. I got Gamel on a ticketstub from his first start (he didn't write in first HR though), and an Escobar ball. My friend cracked a joke to Escobar being tired out after doing the Electric Slide, but we don't think he got it. Great times! Matt, did you get the Turnbow jersey along with all that other stuff from the rummage or the vendors? You cleaned up pretty well, as did 20fry!!! Good hustly out there! (10692 were in attendance, 227 more than last year - via Adam McCalvy on Twitter)
  16. Maybe 20,000 will filter in and out throughout the day. UtilityInfielder, the On Deck is a great chance to get bobbleheads on the cheap, like 5 bucks and less. Try to grab who you can, and check out the vendors, they have all sorts of stuff. Back in the days of Brookfield Square, you could get guys before they hit their signing tables, or after they were leaving them. I used to get tons of guys that way. Now it's a little tougher, but you can probably snag Melvin, Randolph, Svuem, etc roaming around. Good luck, and have fun. That's the point of it all, even if circumstances don't go in our favors.
  17. Yup, Aaron Wenzel. I'll probably be wearing an old brewers white stocking cap that has a blue yarn ball on top, carrying around a Pabst bike messenger bag. Does anyone know if maybe you can get into the Hoffman/Fielder/Braun/Yount line, get a ticket, then go roam around until about the time of the signing? That's what they did for Yount and Uecker 5 years ago (or so) at Miller Park. It makes sense, but I dunno if they'll do that. I'd like to think between all the people helping with this, someone has a plan. Is McCalvy intentionally being a funny guy?
  18. Really? You should try it, these are the two most effective ways to get both players to sign. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif BHF, if I happen to see you at the On Deck, I'll introduce myself. I'll probably be with Aaron (if you know him)
  19. between this and the overall popularity of the brewers, it's getting harder for me to be interested in collecting autos. I'm glad I got all these guys when they first came up, multiple times, on multiple various items, mostly team balls, individual balls, and a team bat. Last year I only attended one auto Friday, to get Hoffman. This year I plan on going to a few fridays, and might even try to hit up the lot over spring break while players are still willing to sign. But I think my days of chasing Braun and Fielder are over. Unless it's at some paid signing. I'll still enjoy just going for prospects, for the notion of saying "i got them before he hit _____hrs a season" or whatever.
  20. One of the reasons Robin doesn't really do Wisconsin signings is because he doesn't want to charge his hometown fans. Obviously for charity things will be different. I guess he doesn't want to profit off of hometown fans. Class act. I know this wouldn't happen, but I'd find it extremely funny if there was 45 minutes of Braun twiddling his thumbs because everyone thought it was ridiculous to pay that much for a signed 5x7. I'm startin to think it might not be worth it to get up that early, and just not get anybody, just hit up all the rummage stuff and brewers wives charity sale. This could also swing that everyone starts heavily complaining like they did for Uecker last year. (Anyone think that last spot open is for him and Mark A again?) - Anyone know if Mark signed baseballs last year? I wouldn't mind getting one of those.
  21. That's a bummer, as I was really looking forward to getting my Wild Card bottle signed. I guess I will try to get it at a Fridays, or just pay 100 bucks down the line (which I personally think is stupid, but I want that signed bad). Now I kinda wished I got an authentic Hoffman jersey to get that signed. I spose I'll just go for Yo, walk around for 4 hours and get escobar and gamel.
  22. hmmm, i dont collect cards much either, but agreed with logan, game used stuff attached to the card is better. any player in particular your looking for? what about a yount rookie or molitor rookie? depending on the grading, you can get them fairly cheap, if you want it in GM 10, it'll cost ya more. also, you can ask someone on the trading post page, lots of those guys know more about cards than i do. some of them also have incredible displays and might have a better idea of a 4th item. good luck!
  23. pepsi, i think i got them, i have some, can't remember which ones...they might be 04 and 05, lemme check my fridge when i get home, whatta ya have for trade, braun on the sweetspot, yount jersey, vukovich signed cleats? postage? we'll work it out http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. i like the escobar and gamel one, gives me a chance to get their first start/first hit tickets signed...i need to call up some friends, no way am I gonna get braun, yo, yount, escobar/gamel alone, actually even with help it seems next to impossible since 3 of the 4 are all on the same stage...guh. this new pay bump im getting still might be gone in 8 hours, heh.
