  1. tnweill, I saw him sign a few times at the lot last year. maybe it was just dumb luck he was signing though. apparently nobody signs in the lot anymore, so a public signing is probably gonna be yer best bet.
  2. Wow fry, that WAS close. Zach, if it was possible, I'd grab my 2008 team signed bat, throw my braun signed batting gloves in my pocket, and try to get out with my Yount signed jersey. Then I'd probably sell all three things, buy lots of booze and forget I ever owned any of it.
  3. I'd be happy with one major league start. I'd take multiple no-no's, just to mess with autograph hounds to tell me the dates before I inscribe it.
  4. bobbledude, the past 2 block parties that Prince has supposed to go to, he didn't show.
  5. My Grandpa, while a huge Braves fan, loved Robin Roberts. One time when Robin was in town, my grandfather, who was a dentist, worked on his teeth. At the Chicago All Star Fan Fest, I met Robin, and asked him if he remembered my Grandpa, and he replied "Sure do, tell him I said hello" It kinda blew my mind. Needless to say my grandpa was beside himself that he remembered (even if Robin was just being polite). Seemed like a very likeable guy. RIP.
  6. looks like this will probably be the best chance to get my champaign bottle signed. im just worried that it'll smudge in the return process, anyone got any tips on how to be sure it doesn't smudge? Maybe emailing them would be the best bet, as I'm not sure what a bottle would fall under. of topic, does anyone know if Hoffman is under contract with someone for signing? or if he were to sign at a block party would he personalize a jersey? thanks in advance!
  7. I dunno, I always liked him, mostly cuz of his character and being a goofball. I always liked seeing him out in the field running into walls and as Stevo said the somersault throws. Outside of that I guess I can't make some arguement why you should absolutely root for, just an average player that I always liked. (Unlike AJ Pierzinski who is an average player, and a total chatch)
  8. He's one of those guys that isn't really a superstar, but a guy you root for. I saw him on Best Darn Sports Show once where he was telling a story about how someone broke into his apartment (dorm?) while he was in college. He claimed he jumped off his lofted bed, tackling and then pummeling the guy who broke in. He'll get a radio show or broadcasting job somewhere if his career is indeed over.
  9. For the average fan, that's thinking WAYYYYY to far into it. There are tons of great Milwaukee fans, and tons of d-bag wagon fans that probably can't tell you what a save is exactly. And yes, this is completely frustrating. On that note, I don't know how excited I am to have gotten an authentic Hoffman jersey from Majestic right when the season started.
  10. when i emailed him about the Mark A bobble, he said "it'll be included for the right price" I also mentioned the fake jersey and asked where he got it, he replied "jersey: ebay, signing: in person." the bats are about the only thing I'd be interested in outside that Mark A bobble, and I don't remember if they are game used or not. Probably not.
  11. This was right when it opened but when I came into Miller Park for the first time, I was told to go through the right field entrance. Its a big out of the way, and then walk to centerfield for your first view of the field. It blew my mind. I told my relatives to do the same, and my uncle also being a baseball diehard agreed it was probably the best way to see the stadium for first impression. Besides that, food and drink have been covered pretty well. Get a cheap grill for 8 bucks and tailgate with that if you can, it's always a nice touch to your experience, the first or hundreth time at the Keg. Enjoy!
  12. yah, i almost went for it last year, i just can't bring myself to forking over that much dough on something that's gonna stand in with a buncha other ones that are more or less 10 bucks...there will come a time when i'll do it though...just like the 04 bernie brewer....i dont think i'll ever try to get the talking braun, or the talking ones that come out this year (and im convinced that they will have talking ones for each of the anniversary bobbles)
  13. Nieves walked a good number of batters, and I believe for Dock Ellis' no-no he even walked in a run.
  14. if they buy em buy it now, that is, but i dont know why you would. CCD7, this came up awhile back when you did this. The hot dogs are selling for 40-50 (give or take), and for some reason the value of the Braun's are way down. this could be because eBay is flooded with em. I know I overpaid when I got 2 of them but thats when they first came out and I was excited about a short run Braun (which ended up having twice, if not more given out than originally claimed). Now I could have bought 2 for 60 bucks. My loss. I'm not sure how many people went to this game, but for some reason, the Helena Brauns are constantly on ebay from you, and the value has dropped dramatically. I'm not gonna tell anyone what to do or not do, but I'd hold onto you sausage bobbles, as those are gonna go for a lot on the bay around the time the Italian is given out as many want just the collection of the sausage bobbles. Then you can buy two Brauns.
  15. but Hart's been clutch so far this season right? c'mon guys, it's only one game in april ;(
  16. I really wish I could curse here sometimes. I'm alone in at work, but the custodians are here, so I can't scream obsenities, or I would be.
  17. did ya get McGwire? sweetspotted? I know Aaron was also goin for him, but didn't get him. I wish I had more interest in getting opposing players sigs, but the only thing I'd do with em is sell em, or never display them because they're not Brewers, and that's not my style.
  18. My friend went to the game today, and apparently as a light rain started, the crowd errupted with applause when it started. I'm sure 3 years from now people won't be in so much excitement, but I'd think they'll know to bring warmer clothes, rain coats, etc.
  19. i haven't seen one in at least 4 months, probably closer to 6, but when I did it was around 80...certainly not the 150-200 range it used to go for. Which is beneficial to me since I still wanna get one someday. On the brighter side, a blue molitor just went for 115, which was way more than the 75 I saw it go for before baseball season started. During the offseason - Buy During the season - Sell That's my motto on most of my collection. Though, there's always exceptions to the rule.
  20. yah, younts catch i think he said he actually dove to slow himself down from overrunning the ball there's also tons of Brooks Robinson plays out there that you could probably create a montage for
  21. it was also in poor taste to boo hoffman off the field. i'm irritated by this fratboy attitude i'd hope to only find in chicago after every poor performance...we don't really wanna be like that, do we milwaukee?
  22. The play when Manny Ramirez caught the ball over his shoulder, high fived a fan, and then threw out the runner at 2nd. Just Manny being Manny. Bo Jackson running off the wall after the catch sticks out as awesome, though the play was fairly routine. There's tons of great plays out there. Gary Matthews Jr catch was pretty great. So good It got him 10 million!!!!
  23. 2 years ago in April Hoffman started out the year something like 1-5 with a 5.00 era. He rebounded fine. Sabathia often starts out shaky as well. I'm not gonna say I'm not in panic mode to some extent, but let's wait until mid-may before talks of Hawkins taking over as the closer. It's most likely early season rust. I think he'll be fine, it's not like he's Mike DeJean or something. I don't know if that sign has anything to do with it, I mean closers don't know what pressure is, right?
