  1. in my opinion, they they shoulda made a shield with the 4 main logos: first M, ball and glove, MB, and the current M. with some kinda banner or something saying 1970-2010.
  2. hofcs, that is the biggest accomplishment i can think of, trying to track down some of those guys that are no longer on the roster is gonna be a feat! (didja get the sausages and bernie to sign?)
  3. you say that now, but remember how everyone was stoked on the braun from last year not having an alternate? i bet 1000 of each have an audio clip of the play call, which is cool, but being a total bobblehead nerd, i'm not shelling out 200-300 that the braun ones are going for...even though i was at two of those games johnbriggs, that story is a great one, the only way it woulda been better is if you had caught Aaron's moon shot
  4. this is great! but get ready as each one is most likely gonna have 1000 featuring an audio clip of each call http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  5. BBhall, did you get my PM on the WS ticket?
  6. It's tough to call. I'm probably going at 7. BillyHallFan said 3 or 4am. I'm not gonna go that early and stand in the cold, and I doubt the Midwest Express Center will be open until 7, maybe not until 8. I just dont see them paying staff to sit around there all night to keep the building open. If I don't get there early enough to get Braun, it won't be the end of the world, and I'll have other opportunities for at least the next 4 or so years.
  7. yah, when I got my jersey signed by Yount, he said "sorry, I'm only signing my name today" I think I was so flustered by meeting my childhood hero that in the entire experience I forgot to shake his hand. *slaps forehead* I like that a third marquee name will headline, might make getting into other lines a little easier. I wonder if Randolph will sign with the coaches or have his own table. Last year he had to leave right after the Q & A session for some reason. He did sign a few for people as he got there, and as he was leaving though.
  8. yah, they let people in through only 2 turnstyles which really makes everything run more smoothly. I remember getting in last year, and not a single person was running to a line. Great experience.
  9. Milwaukee was his last show. I almost went, but didnt wanna spend 50 bucks to see him (as Spoon is awful, IMO), The Matador Singles album was the best thing to come out in 2008. Blood Visions is really good too. The Lost Sounds - Black Wave album is great as well. Almost bought his newest album yesterday in Madison, but put it back for whatever reason. Which now, is kinda crazy. Glad I got a chance to see him for free at Atomic a few years ago. RIP.
  10. I was planning on having him sign on the glass, I'm thinking gold sharpie. I'd imagine there wouldn't be a problem with me picking where he signs it. I'll plead my case that the sig wont be as nice over a label if that is the case. He's generally really nice the 5 or 6 times I've met him, so I dont think this is an issue. Thanks for the tips!
  11. yah, get there early, braun took FOREVER to sign because everything was personalized. he was supposed to sign for an hour and a half and it seemed like he was still signing 3 hours later, that's probably an exaggeration, but it took a long time for him to go through everything. i plan on getting a wild card bottle signed by braun, i'm imagining once he personalizes that, my name will come right off. white eraser, right?
  12. stream2stream.com (i believe) will take care of all your brewer game watching abilities. i am yet to try it out, but my friend watched the Brewers game anytime he wanted to because it picks up stations other people are watching and puts it on your computer. I guess it's technically "stealing" but the technology exists, and if it's live streaming, I don't know if it matters. I haven't had cable in about 3 years and the only thing I miss is watching ESPN or Brewers games (and I can live pretty happily without ESPN). We hook up our laptop to our TV and watch whatever we want. Surfthechannel might not have Dexter immediately, but it will the next day. If you can't be patient enough to wait 16-18 hours to see a TV show, you've got bigger problems than not having cable. With all that said, cable is a waste of money, just have the internet, a 15 dollar chord, and your set.
  13. looks sharp! I should learn to do that as I have some signed 8x10's I'd like to get matted. I have no idea to do it though, so until I opt to learn, I'll have to go the more expensive route.
  14. Blyleven was in pretty good spirits after being interviewed by MLB.Com, he's pretty confident that next year he'll get in.
  15. Dawson squeaked by, and Blyleven just missed (74.2%) Surprised Alomar didn't get in. I'm surprised Dawson was the only one.
  16. My mom got me a Brewers nutcracker that looks pretty great. My grandfather passed away right before opening day 2009, he had never missed an opening day in Milwaukee, starting with the Braves. While my dad was cleaning out my grandpa's basement, he found a world series ticket from game 5 of 57, and a bunch of older scorecards, including his first scorecard (which he noted), so I got those. When I opened it, I broke down. I plan on getting the ticket, scorecard and the "I was there" pennant sometime in the next few weeks.
  17. that said, I just got a Braun Sounds bobble for 24 on ebay. They were closer to 40-45 if I remember correctly during the season. Both prices before shipping. Hoping I can do local pick up from the guy I won from.
  18. where are there indoor cages in milwaukee? burghardts has them I know, but do you have to be a member or in land o lakes or high school ball to use them? Grand Slam USA is closed last I checked, though they could be remodeling I guess. I know Carver Park has an indoor cage, but but again, dont know if you can only get in there with a league or county park membership.
  19. surprised it didnt sell...i woulda bid on that in a heartbeat had i not already had one...wait till the season starts, nows the time to BUY bobbles, not sell them...they seem to do much better during the season
  20. I heard or read somewhere that Braun didn't like him much either (1250 post game show maybe?). Best of luck to Seth. He's an all around class act, and the kinda guy who'd letcha pull up a chair and have lunch with him if he was eating alone. I always liked him as he always signed for everybody in the lot, and the memories of him in that last weekend of 08 that others mentioned. My favorite memory of all was in 2007 at auto fridays when my friend asked if he would sign his ball "I drilled Pujols" he replied with a grin "Sorry, but I don't think I should do that" with a grin.
  21. Its hard for me to pinpoint all the breweries, I've gone to so many Onion Beer Societies, that I forgot how many different breweries I've tried, or which I liked the most. I usually just get a different 6 pack of whatever each week to have one when I get home from work. then I just drink PBR or Hamm's on the weekends. 1. Lakefront Brewery - for pretty much all the reasons Colby said...the new Local Acre is great, had it last night for the first time. It's the Brewery I know the most. I've been on that tour so many times, at one point Mr Klitsch joked and asked if me or any of my friends wanted to do the tour for him one afternoon. (best place for a wedding reception too!) 2. New Glarus - Spotted Cow is kinda an obvious pick, but still, great. 3. New Belgium - Went nuts and bought a 6 pack of the Fat Tire when I first saw it. Best 25 bucks I'd spent on beers ever (22oz bottles at that) 4. Capital Brewery - I love their winter ale, their Octoberfest was delicious as well 5. Furthermore - I've only tried the Fatty, but it ruled hard. Worst Brewery? MAGIC HAT. I got a 12 pack variety, and each beer made me wanna vomit more than the last, most notably the Winter 09 ale. Lemon water with carbonation. Worst beer ever (and yes, I've tried Steel Reserve)
  22. thanks again houlie...any other place is the way to go...looks like just over 5 weeks for it to be all said and done, jersey101 is already better
  23. if you want a Bill Hall $200 locker tag, or $350 game used bats from Mike Cameron, this is the place to be. other than that, at 12:30 they were pretty much outta worth while hats, unless you wear size 7 or under. lotsa womens stuff though. no hoodies, some authentic jerseys for 50 in size large or smaller. the guy at the door said they would restock things for tomorrow, but i dont know what that means. Personally, I walked away with nothing. Total Bummer.
  24. In no order: The Dark Knight Let The Right One In The Incredibles Old Boy Royal Tenenbaums Kill Bill Pursuit Of Happyness Requiem For A Dream No Country For Old Men Battle Royale Honorable: Inglorious Basterds The Wrestler Men On Wire King Of Kong I'm sure there's probably 10 movies that weren't on that list that other people will say which will make me change my mind.
  25. Last year the player tees that were at the rummage were either 5 or 10. I doubt they'll have any tees priced higher.
