  1. that's not bad, i'll wait a little bit on it, but i'll need one too.
  2. did you guys get anything? i picked up a selig ball (30), edmonds, and pafko ball (20)....i prolly shoulda got a sheffield ball for 25, but i couldn't bring myself to getting anything for someone i hate, even if he was in milwaukee to start his career there were a few interesting auction items, i was woulda bid on, but they were way on the other side of the table and it was gonna take all day for them to get to them. most notably the card saying "i was there for hank aaron's 500th homerun" if either of you were there, any idea how much that went for? neat little piece
  3. i believe there are two walmarts (maybe 3) on capitol. which one are you referring to? the one at midtown, or the one on holten?
  4. besides the wings (which are wayyyy overpriced since they ran into problems a few years ago with their wing night) and the fried cheese curds, leff's food isn't really anything special either.
  5. if nothing else, find out what paint number she used and buy a small container of it. that and a caulk gun with about 45 minutes of yer time when you move out, and she'll never know the difference.
  6. i used multiple tickets. i got hoffman on a jersey (personalized: Corey, "All The Best" Trevor Hoffman. on the 5 (kinda a bummer cuz i woulda paid if it wasnt personalized, but it still looks pretty good) and traded 3 tickets with a girl for Randolph (she wanted kottaras). honestly, I think it went much better than other ones, though I got who I wanted. i'll probably go to another one. the nice thing is that you dont have to get there early...next time, i'm not gonna bother getting there till close to 10, about the time the brewers staff showed up
  7. geeze, this is ridiculous. i got a hoffman jersey at the beginning of the season, and the block party is really my only chance to get it signed. unless i wait 10 years from now and hope he does a private signing somewhere. the only hope you can really have is that if you get there and none of the lines have 150 people after they are announced. i can't imagine families wanting to get there and stand around for ed sedar, either. i bet they switch this policy after the first one.
  8. I was just looking around at the promotions, and it seems that the only 3 bobbles given away this year are the two for the rattlers, and a prince fielder sounds. I couldn't find anything for Huntsville. Any reason why the Sounds aren't doing one? I'm also just assuming there won't be any rookie or low A ball ones given away.
  9. yah, reggie harris. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggie_Harris what's interesting is he had like 5 years between major league appearances.
  10. it went for over 650. wow.
  11. Milton Bradley made probably his only memorable quote when he said "On a day like today, it should be raining in Seattle" Griffey was the last of my childhood favorites to play the game. See ya in Cooperstown, buddy.
  12. i think you have to vote for scooter vs snowman. sounds a lot of options there, mid swing, or follow through, or the bat going into the snowman. could be great!
  13. its currently at 125, pretty great, thought i'd throw it out there for others http://cgi.ebay.com/Milwaukee-Brewers-Game-Used-Alternate-Jersey-/370387756368?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563cd4a550
  14. my favorite Dennis Hopper role was Blue Velvet. If you haven't seen it do so. It's David Lynch so it's messed up, but of all his movies, this one makes the most sense. "Heineken? PABST. BLUE. RIBBON!!!"
  15. I remember a few years ago where ESPN did a story on how pitch count and matchups could rule out seeing another no-no again in major league history. That season I believe Burhele pitched his first no hitter. Sure it was just a story to kill a segment, but I'm glad they were proven wrong. I'm jealous of my White Sox/Brewers fan friend that got to see both Burhele's and Verlander's no hitters while I haven't seen any live. Right now I just don't see any Brewer being able to do it, unless Gallardo can somehow throw more strikes than normal.
  16. It doesn't seem all that long ago that Brewers Nation was arguing that Scotty Po shoulda won ROY over the D-Train. It's kinda hard to believe that the Tigers have give up on him. In my opinion, I think messing with his mechanics had a lot to do with it. I know he was out for his anxiety, but to I think that was more or less a phony excuse for his performance. That leg kick may have gotten him hurt in the long run, but messing with it clearly affected him, IMO. It bums me out to an extent because his windup was so old school and fun to watch, unlike most pitchers today that follow some sort of "blueprint" for mechanics. I hope he can pick up with a team somewhere and maybe get back to what he used to be. http://detroit.tigers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100529&content_id=10595258&vkey=news_det&fext=.jsp&c_id=det
  17. I just got a Billy Wegman signed game used cleat. The guy who sold it to me gave the other one to his brother. I didn't pay much for it, but wanna see what people here say. Also, game used Jenkins bat, a few marks, but not broken.
  18. I'm 2-9. I managed to see 2 wins early, but after that, it's been horrible. I have an incentive day coming up I was gonna use for the May 27th Astros game, but I just found out I have the option of taking the pay. The way these clowns are playing, I'll be taking the pay.
  19. This is to the point that it's comical. Does George Webbs still give out free burgers for 12 straight?
  20. Turbo, he flooded ebay with those Brauns, and the price reduced from somewhere around 80 to closer to 30...every day he put a new one up, kinda like how Legends decreased the value of the Vuckovich signed items as well (or any other Legends item for that matter)
  21. i spent 5 bucks on a coupon for a free hamburger when the crew won 12 straight. the guy wanted 10 and i talked him down...that was my 'what am i doing" moment. but as Jim said, its a pretty minimal buy.
  22. i have dealt with him once. it wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't the best ebay one either. items showed up in fair time, i may have over paid, but i got him to reduce something from his store and combine shipping. if there's a bobble i really need and only he has it, i'd do business with him again. that being said, he also ruined the vaule of the braun helena's for everyone on this board.
  23. haha, matt....i don't have kids, if i did my priorities would be elsewhere...glad everything is okay for you though, can't imagine what your neighbors are going through
