  1. I had a great time, we walked in so didn't have to worry about parking. Our friends who are always running behind got onto canal street to find the line back to 35th street, it took them about an hour to get into the lot. In the meantime we went to my cousins tailgate and grilled there. I got a picture with LeRoy Butler, he was a nice guy and we had a 5 minute conversation over christmas vs opening day. he choose christmas, i took opening day. wssp agreed with me. the only bad vibe i noticed all day, was walking out through the busses, there were all these 60 year old men trying to fight each other. it seemed like one fight would break up, and somebody else would start one, it was pretty comical overall. great time, glad yesterday wasn't like today's weather, it could've been a different experience altogether
  2. anyone go to the players lot yesterday or over the weekend? how was it? i was thinking of goin today, but with the rain, i might wait till tomorrow to give it a try. the only player i really would like is edmonds, maybe gomez...i'd like to get that poster of braun and fielder signed from the paper sunday, but i doubt Braun signs ever in that lot, even early in the season
  3. the only two im missing from that is the mini italian (which i should own, long story), and the braun talking (which i'll prolly never own, much shorter story)... I'm still trying to get zachlaka to help me out in creating a webpage for all the bobbles with thumbnails and some details. A compilation of all the minor league ones would be good (drafted minor leaues, not that randy ready wizards, or that trot nixon thats being sold on ebay as a "Brewers" bobble, or the LaTroy Hawkins thats currently up there as a "Brewers" bobble). I've got most of em figured out. The hard ones to figure out are the mascots for minor league teams, and which ones, as some teams have had multiple mascots, under different affiliates. (ex Huntsville has the A's then the Brewers, etc.) Thanks for typing this up, I'll use this for sure. Even if it's just for my own records as I don't need it for much of a checklist.
  4. that's a pretty good assumption madgrad...i also wonder if it was cheaper to lose the suds? hmm, i'll have to keep my eye open for one of these, the suds make it look even better than the other version...im guessing there won't be much of a cost difference on ebay either.
  5. if i had that kinda money for them to appraise it, i'd have a much better collection, ha
  6. based on what i saw, they were all molded in.... i know someone from here posted a youtube video with the call...good luck!
  7. i need to get my stuff appraised by someone and send that in in writing, and pictures in to go with it. I don't think the insurance company itself has someone they call in for this, however, you can call Justin at the number above if you have anymore questions...
  8. My favorite Turnbow memories were when he made the Cubs look like little leaguers in either his 2nd or 3rd career save. He baffled Derrek Lee with a knee buckling curve to win the game. There was about 10 of us watching at my friends house, and we immidiately jumped on the band wagon. The other one came when Turnbow was at his peak. My cousin was in town from Wyoming so we went to the game. When Turnbow came out to the mound with Metallica blaring and the crowd goin crazy, my cousin said to me "is it always like this, this is some sort of spectacle!" Turnbow struck out the side with 30,000 fans on their feet.
  9. My insurance guy found someone that can do a package with both renters and auto that includes memorabilia. I'm sure this works as a package for home owners and auto as well. He's glad to help you out. Tell him Corey sent ya http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Justin Feest (Robert Feest and Associates, Elm Grove) 262 - 641 -0644 My plan came out to being an extra 90 dollars a year to cover my collection. Not bad at all.
  10. I can only think back to a certain thread while Billy was tearing it up.... "Bill Hall doesn't party too hard, Bill Hall evens the playing field for everyone else" Sadly, that thread probably won't be too much fun to go back and read now. I loved Billy as a player, and hope he can somehow pick up with a team that needs a starter and won't be a career backup.
  11. It's not up there as of right now, but it very well could be by this evening. go to www.surfthechannel.com and type it in. If a megavideo link is available, use that. They are generally the best quality. Unfortunately, HBO does a real bang up job of getting their shows pulled from these links pretty quick, but if it gets flooded with uploads, it's usually a longer process.
  12. the chest protector is up by someone else, they only have 1 feedback though, so i'd consider local pickup... get in there 20fry, no interest in the protector, just the shin guards....i'm glad to know that your max bid was that high because i woulda lost, having that said, im glad i lost track of time, i probably saved you about 100 bucks, i was planning on going to 150 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. im kicking myself for this, but how much do you think game used BJ Surhoff shin guards would go for? A guy on eBay just sold em for 65. I was planning on bidding, but was making dinner and lost track of time...i'd assume more, since stuff like that is harder to come by...thanks
  14. roobideaux, good call on the bobblearm.... CC's is SICK. The Yount woulda been better if it was more like the Snappers Greg Vaughn in full swing mode. Aaron might have been more fitting if it was of him crossing homeplate after his final homerun? That's my $.02
  15. Dontrelle Willis (though he formerly was, now I'm cheering for him to rebound). Joel Zumaya Scotty Podsednik Russell Branyan Nick Swisher
  16. The velcro thing is obnoxious, I'm not sure if players do this for some sorta premaddona thing, or if they do it to mess up the pitchers rhythm. I'd assume it has to do with both to some degree.
  17. Milton Bradley comes to mind right away. At the time, I wouldn't want Barry Bonds and that media circus around our younger guys like Braun, Fielder, Weeks, etc. I also wouldn't want Ben Sheets back, or a Rich Harden deal due to injury risks. There is probably a few more that I can come up with later, but these come to mind right away.
  18. they sure love their mascot in appleton...i know a lot of the other minor league bobbles that im missing are mascots, as it makes sense since players jump around so much, but two mascot bobbles a year seems excessive. however, i am looking forward to seeing what this one looks like
  19. Tito, that sounds like a great plan. Especially the band part. Though I'm sure yer friends would play for free...however halls and parks close at a certain time, whereas venues are open until 2. The Opperman's had the problem when Lakefront closed at midnight and the Ergs were headlining a show and flew in from New Jersey to play. THE ERGS! and the were cut short (only by a few songs though). Guh.
  20. My cousin heard something about Braun planning a Brookfield location too....I said this earlier, but I'd hate to see Braun throwing his money around if everything falls apart...To play it safe, wouldn't you want one restaurant to succeed before considering opening a third? I'm no business man, but this should be covered in 101.
  21. What about a Vuko-wich?
  22. did you look around on ebay? it wont be personalized, but i'd bet something is available there...craigslist is also a possibility
  23. one year i bought 16 extra tickets after the campout and got 2 months of rent through ebay. if people are willing to pay extra that doesn't make the seller a d-bag. supply and demand will always play a factor and opening day is the biggest ticket in town this time of year. while slightly on topic, are people camping out yet for whatever is left for opening day?
  24. check out spring green...they might have something up your alley...and they have river tubing, which rules!!!
  25. lately the hot dog has been getting as much as the braun....right around 30-35
