  1. I highly doubt that was intentional. I would have to believe Lackey was excited to get back in there after being out 6 weeks and with that his control was gone. If the intent was to bean someone, they'd either wait, or bring in a bullpen guy to start the game. The only other idea is that the Angels felt the umps would give him the benefit of the doubt (based off of reasons above), and not eject him, allowing Lackey to set the tone. Then they called his bluff and tossed him.
  2. I dunno if it counts from a different genre, but Lil Wayne isnt all that handsom either. A lot of that has to do with facial tattoos though.
  3. God I hope not. They already are gonna have the two jerseys.
  4. We didn't get Manny, Texiera, Burnett, or resign CC.
  5. Can someone who has one of these get a youtube video up of it with the call? I'd kinda like to hear it, others probably would as well. That'd be great.
  6. Death Bed: The Bed That Eats People might be the only thing that competes with this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBhsPP06-mA
  7. I got a game used Carlos Lee bat from Miller Park last year for 30. It was originally at 50, except the hologram wasn't on there, so Miller Park dropped it. It's cracked, but I felt it was still worth more than 50, so I felt 30 wa a steal. I also got a Glenn Braggs bat for my birthday a long time ago that is also cracked, and curious how much that would go for. I also have a game used spring training Gary Mathews Brewers jersey when he was a coach. That was 25. I don't think it's worth all that much, but it was a good find at the On Deck a few years ago. But he was a solid player in his day. I figured that was worth more than the Jose Capellan jersey also available. How much would a pair of signed Corey Hart batting gloves go for? I saw some priced around 150 or so. I have no idea if that's worth it or not.
  8. $293!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=330327465711 That's insane. I was watching another one that ended at $203. Reserve wasn't met. I hope that guy tries it again, and the price falls greatly. The hype on these are going to fall. There is at least twice as many Braun talkings than Braun Helena's, and those were at 100 right after they came out. I expect over time they will fall and probably go for around 50-75. Who knows how the broken ones will go for, or if they can be fixed somehow?
  9. The second home game of the season, my friend got sucker punched by a Cubs fan. He was just walking through the crowd after the game. The guy didn't get in a solid blow, but obviously my friend was furious. After it happened the guy just disappeared through the crowd, and no security was around either. I can't say I've seen anything else, and I've seen worse in the past. I wouldn't say anything was calmed down.
  10. Yo not on the sweetspot? I shoulda paid off my friend to get him for me at On Deck. I guess I'll have to pay for him. Glad to find that out, I had to coach last night and was kinda bummed I missed out. You almost take it for granted that CC was sweetspotting AND inscribing CY 07 to anyone who requested it at the block party.
  11. The prices are a little out of date, as he stopped doing it two years ago...now that school is almost over maybe he will do it again? I would do it if I knew a little more about HTML, that and all my stuff is boxed up and not displayed.
  12. My friend got one on her birthday and it was Bernie sliding into home. How many different Bernie Brewer bobbles are there? The only one I ever see on eBay is the one I just referred to.
  13. Major League Mr 3000 Sandlot Bad News Bears Those would be my four choices.
  14. Obviously I'm referring to the bobblehead. Don't get my hopes up that you have one mtrebs!
  15. I'm probably giving away the best kept secret here, BUT, if you go down 35th to St Paul and go right, you can drive up until like 40th or something and park next to a little park. You need to hop a wall and then walk along the tracks, but it'll take you right into the East lot. It's much shorter than walking in from Bluemound or National. The only advantage that bluemound has is that you can hop on any of the bar busses after the game and get taken back to bluemound You can't park in that culdasac next to the bank anymore, they put signs up.
  16. So you think loading up security in the front of the stadium, and kicking runners out wouldn't stop people from running? It would sure stop me from running.I think it'd be like trying to have a cop for every citizen so that they don't break the law. There's no way security can get everyone to stop running. I don't think it's a terrible idea, I just don't think it would work.
  17. This is probably the worst trading post thread ever started, but does anyone have a Surhoff box they don't need? I ordered one from that ccr7 guy on eBay (the one who has all the Braun Helena's), and it didn't come with a box (which was listed, I just didn't read that part). It had the styrofoam packaging though, so I'm puzzled. The ESPN sign also came off, but that looks like a pretty easy fix with superglue. Let me know if you do. Again, probably the stupidest thread ever started.
  18. I know people that have parked in the lot directly across from the freeway and not had anything happen. I wonder the same as I've thought about doing that to unload all my stuff then park on near pigsville and walk in. I never wanna risk that though. I suppose it's worth the risk if you know you'll be out of their early. Most private parking lots that charge end up charging you 15 either way for not paying.
  19. not to jump too far off topic here, but are blue sharpied 8x10's really worth more than black? Does it matter? Does it matter that much for baseballs if it's blue or black? the players signature doesn't change color pending... I always go with blue on balls only because I think it looks nicer. Bob Feller will tell you that blue is for the American League players and black is for the National League. That's old school. That also really isn't relevant anymore since so many guys trade off. You don't have to reply here as I don't want to hijack peoples ideas, but if you would like PM me with any details.
  20. It all basically comes down to preference. I personally think that 95% of the Summerfest lineup every year is garbage. There's usually one possibly two bands that I make sure I see, and then one or two that if I score free tickets from someone, I'll check it out. A lot of the nights it's just the current one hit wonder or washups. (examples from last year: the former, Sean Kingston, and the latter, the Reel Big Fish). Again, it basically comes down to musical preference. I'm sure the lineup I would like to see would only be attended by 100-250 people. Those bands mostly play in small clubs or basements, but I'd take em over The Wailers or Puddle Of Mudd anyday.
  21. Three things: The random part...You all know as much as I do that we'd all be extremely PO'd if you went down to Miller Park at 3:30, stood in line, picked a random section to see Jorge Julio come out while Prince and Braun are in the two sections sandwiching you. The Brewers ball/cards part...Those Brewers balls are extremely generic and within 2 years they will turned into superfading/bleeding. The cards would be okay to an extent, but I would much rather get a ball signed over an 8x10, 5x8 etc, because it's smaller and easier to display. Random thought part (related to 20fry's thought)...There isn't many other public signings of players that I know of outside of Auto fridays and Legends...Legends overprices greatly as I think most of us will agree on. So trying to complete a multi-sig item, or what not would become very difficult. For example, would Mike Rivera have ANY draw at Legends? I only use him for example because he's basically the last guy I need from my team bat last year, and really, does he deserve to charge people? He only played in like 16 games last year, and basically a career minor leaguer before that. BHF, I personally think your idea of lining up next to the Uecker line ticket window is the best. Tickets over wristbands, as people could easily transfer wristbands and whatnot, and it'd be too much to have someone clipping them. Tickets can be just be taken, and that's that. I've been wishing this on the past few years since I saw how smooth the Yount/Uecker thing went at FanFest. Quick final thought on autographs being only for kids...I didn't get many autos as a kid, but that's when I started collecting them. At some point all kids grow up, and shouldn't have to discontinue a hobby because of their age (unless it's playing GI Joe or ding dong ditch).
  22. I don't necissarily think the guy was thinking Hart would last as long as Braun in Milwaukee. I think he likes that Hart is pretty mild with the media, doesn't come off as a pretty boy, or a cocky player. Just a guy that goes about his business.
  23. I'm pretty excited about Rancid. They were my favorite band in high school (12 years ago). What's not listed on here, and if your a fan of either of these bands, is the Riverboat Gamblers who are playing at 6. Denton, TX band that have played at the Cactus Club a few times a long time ago. Really, really good. I will say I haven't heard anything from them recently however. If you end up liking them, check out The Marked Men, also from Denton, and may share band members. They're among my current favorite bands.
  24. I would suggest bike riding. Depending on where you live, there is probably a bike trail close to you. The Oak Leaf trail goes all over Milwaukee, it even branches off to the Hank Aaron trail so you can ride to a game. The bike trails are almost always safe from traffic if that's a concern. Golf is something I wish I had more time to do. If you collect anything, you can build/set up a new display. The other thing I enjoy doing alone is record shopping. That might not be for you, but there are some really good record (vinyl) stores around that have tons of good stuff. Most records are fairly cheap, and nothing beats walking out of a store with a record you've been searching for over a good period of time.
  25. http://milwaukee.decider....e-charlie-debacle,27410/ This is worth a read. As most stuff associated with the Onion, there is some language, for anyone offended easily. (anyone better with links and html might wanna change the link setting).
