  1. I didn't even notice it, the crowd was so loud for him, but that completely rules. Coffey running out to the hill and that fat guy doing the Robot were the only good parts of the game.
  2. It should cost the pitcher 10 days which is equivalent to 2 starts. If the rule was "skip your next start" a manager could say the pitcher was gonna go on 2 days rest or whatever the next week. Sure no manager would do that in real life (except September/October), but it's a loophole nonetheless. To have your start pushed back one day, is it really sending a message to pitchers about their actions? Of course not.
  3. Is Sheets a good pitcher? Of course. But he has shown time and time again he can't stay healthy when it matters, and I don't see him coming out of nowhere and being lights out for 2 months. His training and dieat should also be of concern, as it's been mentioned by many on here as an issue in the past. If anything, he's great for a month, then his back, arm, shoulder, knee, hangnail starts to hurt and he's out for the rest of the season. I really enjoyed watching Sheets in Milwaukee, but to give him a 2 year deal with a 3rd year option is just a bad idea. When we signed Sheets long term, it made sense. Now, I just can't buy into that at all. The absolute only way I'd sign him would be lots of incentives including 200 innings pitched being the biggest factor, with the highest reward. Even then, it'd only be a one year deal.
  4. I'm glad I got Gamel on a ball for free at On Deck, sweetspotted. I probably couldve gotten him twice as the line was short, but ran outta stuff to get signed. Legends also charges for shipping/handling when you pick items up. I was surprised that they had some "policy." It seems silly to have to pay to pick the item up, I drove out there cuz shipping was outrageous for an 8x10 (10 bucks) (they charged 5 as opposed to 10, which CLEARLY is a scam). I still felt I got the better end of the deal, as it was a Sheets 8x10 that cost only like 7 dollars total (including the pick up fee). It was also funny when the girl asked me if I wanted a signed ball by top prospect "Mat Camel" for 60 bucks.
  5. Anyone else read this? Pretty wild. It's like the guy recreated The Wire. http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/45157997.html
  6. Stevo - they gave away cans of soda, so I drank a mt dew on the way home to stay awake for our driver, and get ready for the fire...i figured it'd be better to drink something else too at that point...
  7. If you have another one left in good condition I'll take one.
  8. Around 10 bucks Brewdude. They had a million of those that I think were 10 each. I think they had certificates saying they were from County. I doubt the price really went up/down on them much because so many were available. Miller Park was selling them for like 3 seasons after County was torn down. Similarily, how much is "a piece of the park (grass/dirt)" from 1982?
  9. After the last game of the season when Mark A gave out free tickets, we were there for well over 2 hours after the game. I think you will be alright for awhile because it's a holiday.
  10. Everyone should totally take advantage of the Snappers all you can eat/drink tickets for 25 bucks. Well worth it. I went tonight to see the T-Rats play, but with my luck, Lowrie had the night off!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What super stud prospect has the night off on a Friday?!?!! My stats: Brats: 4 Burgers: 1 Hot Dogs: 1 Sodas: 1 Beers: 11 Got back to Milwaukee and went to a bon fire where I had 8 more adult beverages....cant wait to see what tomorrow feels like.....
  11. I have an extra Big Stick laying around that I will probably get signed soon. I got it from Burghardts and it has some of the price tag adhesive still on there. What's the best way to get it off? I brought the same bat to spring training a few years ago and it fell through the bleachers. A little piece of the knob broke off. How much (if any) will that decrease the value? It's not major, but it's kinda noticeable.
  12. I guess it's better the Molitor will be in a Twins uni, one less thing to worry about since I probably wont get one. I have some friends in Huntsville. I'll see if they can find out more on the "star." I doubt it'd be another Braun or Fielder. Gallardo? Hart?
  13. I would think keeping your head up and alert is the best strategy, anywhere. Eyes on the ground makes you look intimidated, and easily muggable. Head up and alert gives a look of confidence, allowing you to have a better chance of avoiding situation.
  14. That's my favorite comment on Deadspin. To document Miller Park's problems on Opening Day against the Cubs was a bit much, but doesn't compare to having to read INSIDE EDITION in all caps every other sentence.
  15. I think Gamel Toe is funny around your friends. Not a good nickname though. That's like when my friends spent the entire season referring to Hardy as Va-JJ. Again, funny around friends, but if I was Hardy or Gamel, I wouldn't want that as my nickname and probably be somewhat offended.
  16. I know a lot of vegans (being into punk and hardcore bands). I can never do it mostly because of cheese. I do think you can cook tons of great meals without meat and it can be done pretty affordably. Good luck. Check online at the food network.com or other places, there are plenty of vegan recipes out there.
  17. I would probably be interested in a bat or an 8x10 (I'm assuming a bat is considered a premium item")
  18. I'll buy! Great interview, I was stoked when Todd facebooked he got it done. I never had a chance to get yer autograph. Maybe now I can do this through the mail?
  19. After watching the replay, he may not have had to slide for it, but at the same time, he may have had to only because he would have overran it otherwise. Similar to how Yount felt about Murry's hit during Nieves no hitter. I personally would love if we would get the "bad boy" treatment. I don't think we're that at all, no one is getting caught doing inappropriate things off field. There is probably a homerun staredown every night by someone on any given team. If we do it once in awhile, is it a big deal? I think it'd be a bit much if we were up 7-0, but to take the lead in the 8th? Totally acceptable. I think it fuels the team to have that reputation, and if it works, run with it.
  20. Just saw on JSonline that the Bernie will now slide into a pool of water. While it's not the same as the stein, it's better than nothing I guess. I can't tell if this is just like a button that's hit to shoot out water, or an actual pool. I'd think it's a button. I just find it humorous that Bernie will have to go through the stands and be soaked while delivering pizzas while smelling like a wet dog.
  21. Norm McDonald is a hilarious individual. My friend just sent me this YouTube of him on Howard Stern talking about Bob Uecker. If language offends you, this is not for you. If language does not offend you, this is down right LOL funny. Part 1 (about the 6 minute mark) Part 2 Enjoy.
  22. This looked like a neat program, I was trying to watch it the other night at my friends, but the other people in the room wanted to watch something else. I miss cable.
  23. Didn't Dock Ellis actually get taken out by the manager, not ejected after going 4 for 5 drilling the Big Red Machine?
  24. Jamie, I spent 25 on my with shipping, no box. I have seen it go mostly for around 15-20 since then (with box) probably 5-7 more for shipping. That bobble seems to be more heavy duty and weigh more than others though. I was trying to find that on Bobblebums.com, anyone know the official name for it, or if "the brewmeister" is even listed?
  25. I haven't been buying signed balls off eBay the past few years for thsoe reasons above lodi. There's always that risk based on the company. I feel Steiner ridiculously overcharges (400 for a Curt Schilling ball for example). One of the other places I found that I got good deals from was Reggie Jackson's company. I can't think of it. Reggie Jackson 44 or something like that. Even with the COA's, if you find out there fake somewhere down the line, eBay doesn't do the best job of keeping record of items for database purposes. Now I'm mostly just looking for Brewers stuff anyway, but if I'm gonna try to get some other player, at least if I get it, I know it's real, with no plan on selling anything.
