  1. Can't wait for the new season of The Office to start. Saw the first episode of the newest season of Entourage. I wish that show was an hour, it just seemed to get goin and it was over. Gotta wait for tonights to show up on the internet. About to watch Cocaine Cowboys. Also friggin happy I don't have cable currently and didn't go outta my way to watch the Milwaukee Debacles play the Phillies over the weekend. On the same token, I'm glad I can't drink on school nights anymore, or this post would be very, very ridiculous due to the prior sentence.
  2. get ready for it MacFlash. unreal. we're basically 0-September. Tied for the wild card. On the brighter side the astros are losing to the cubs? for cyring out loud.
  3. how much are the games? can't make it anyway, but i'd figure they'd be 10 bucks like the indians/angels game
  4. Movies, TV series, recommendations, whatever. The other night I saw Black Snake Moan. The previews made it look much better than it actually was. Just about wrapping up Oz. I never caught the final season, so the gf and I have been watching all of em 2 discs left. Up next I'd LOVE to get into the Wire, but it might be Six Feet Under first. Someone gimme an argument for me to plead with the gf why the Wire is better. I've heard many say that once it's all said and done, the Wire is better than Sopranos. After those two, where should I go? Deadwood? Rome? Dexter? Carnivale?
  5. Never heard of it, whats it all about?
  6. still waiting for my 9 pack letter. anyone else? i'm gonna call my ticket rep if i dont have anything by friday.
  7. I also wonder if the McDonalds he regulars too just gives him a free big mac sometimes, or a soda, or whatever. I can't imagine how much he's spent over the years eating garbage. With just one week off of his Big Mac spendings he could check out the Best Wisconsin Restaraunt thread, and maybe, just maybe it would change his life.
  8. just put my order in for a retro braun and the retro Nolan Ryan astros. I'm gonna look sharp!
  9. outta curiosity, was the sheets signing 30 or 40 for a bobblehead? i decided it wasn't worth it to drive out there to get my alternate bobble signed from 2005...i regret not trying to get my bobble signed a few years ago when i had the chance, but i've always been trying to complete team balls it never occurred to me. after this season, im done with team balls, it's too hard, especially when yer trying to get one or two guys that are a far cry from a superstar, but wont sign in the player lot (ie mike rivera)
  10. Cranky Pat's in Neenah. NOT Cranky Al's in Tosa. I was gonna mention that El Chico's was closed down too. Bummer because it wasn't the best, but it was good enough and still cheap. What's this Black and White restaraunt all about?
  11. I'll probably throw money down for that. Even if they're isn't autographs, Ueck is gonna worth the admission alone.
  12. And the price on those will just go up in time. We all know that, look at the Beloit Prince Fielder for example. I'm happy Matt let us know about getting these, and I think 75 still is a fair price. After shipping, they seem to be right around the 75 mark anyway, last I had checked.
  13. How much does Braun sign for at LOTF? I enjoy autograph fridays, but I wonder if they're gonna do it next year. It's a good draw, but it's getting crazy. I know this has been talked about in the past, but I can't think of spending money on a guy when if I wait it out I can get him for free down the line. I wanna get a Braun jersey signed, and feel I got about 6 years to do that (sooner the better, obviously)...but if they don't do Friday's next year, how much does LOTF charge for a jersey? Bobblehead? Inscriptions?
  14. 250, 500, 1000, whatever the case may be, I'm glad I got it. Woulda been nice to get the variant jersey, but there's no way I'm gonna shell out what they are goin for. All things considered, it's a hobby and I enjoy collecting bobbles. But I also enjoyed collecting Jose Canseco baseball cards when I was 9, which is about what they go for now, or less. I coulda gotten a Sega but instead I got a piece of stupid cardboard.
  15. i think the name is pretty boring and generic. barons woulda been better. Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys fame) wrote a song called mascot mania and came up with these team names to make teams sound tougher New York Muggers Detroit Murders Chicago Mob Boston Bigots Texas Swindlers L.A. Cops Miami Drugs New Jersey Dumps Denver Smog Seattle Fads New Orleans Hoods Milwaukee Cannibals San Diego Jarheads Arizona Drought Dallas Oswalds Washington Bribes Pittsburg Polluters Houston Drive-Bys Florida Abortion Bombers Funny stuff
  16. i already posted a thread about this, but i have 2 for sale. they're in the terrace level section 426. pm me asap if yer insterested
  17. I have two terrace reserve tickets for the september 5th game that I can't use because my band is playing that night. I'd like to trade them for other tickets for a game, bobbleheads (hardy or braun or hart, or mix and match), or face value (they're 14 a ticket) section 426 row 14 seats 1 and 2 if yer interested lemme know asap! thanks corey
  18. 20? are you ordering 100 wings? I usually can get by under 10 and that includes tips. Either way, check it out! The only bad part is the wait in line, get there before 9 (that's when the deal for wings starts, high lifes are all night), it still goes fairly fast, but a high life or two while you wait won't hurt ya http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif They also have a few plasma's with either the Brewers game on, or sportscenter to occupy yer time if your sick of listening to yer buddy's nonsense
  19. When I went to Cooperstown for Molitor's induction, I boasted that Sheets would be the next Brewer to have his number retired, not even considering as a HOF candidate. I had also been drinking most of the afternoon and night, and Fielder had yet to be a full time player. Those comparison's are great, especially cuz of Braun's fairly new contract and the price HE accepted. Most guys woulda held out (ie Fielder) for more. Here's to hoping he becomes Mr Brewer as a long term name. 7 dingers isn't too hard a feat considering he is coming around in the clutch, and has the swagger this team needs to be a playoff team to be reckoned with,
  20. Deli: Koppa's Grecian: Gyro Corner Burger: Robert's (however, I have yet to be to Sobleman's or Solly's) BBQ: Speed Queen Mexican: Conejitos or Acapolco Bar Food: Leff's or McBob's Wing night: Brothers (it's a chain, but 10 cent wings and dollar high lifes are right up my alley, good sauces too!) Pizza: Ballestreri's Pastys: Renyold's (I doubt there is any other pasty place really in Milwaukee, but it's one of my favorites, a meal in itself!) I've gotten to eat at tons of fine dining places over the years with Grandparent's at Christmas time, but only eating at each one once, I can't really say "you gotta eat here, try the______!" So I'm leaving those off, I don't think a one time experience is worthy of high praise. Also, anyone been to Pizza Shuttle lately? I used to love that place. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the quality has changed, but the prices are becoming rediculous! 4 something a slice? That's a joke. Also, I've heard recently that weekends after midnight they have cops out there and metal detectors and whatnot. I don't wanna deal with that. Another place I'd like to check out is Jake's Deli on 12th and north. Anyone been there? Price range? I hear the corned beef can't be touched.
  21. Yeah, it is that its harder to go to a game on a whim as I was able to do just two years ago. But that excites me. What is frustrating, is that I have a friend who works for Pizza Shuttle who gets season tickets. She gets tickets from Shuttle fairly often and after years of being a "diehard" Cubs fan loves the Brewers. I'm fine with the transistion, but the fact that she acts like she knows everything about every situation it drives me nuts. She gets on Yost's case whenever a pitcher is pulled in any situations, and won't take the time to educate herself about the game, rather find a scapegoat for anything that goes wrong. I still find myself wondering if she thinks a single team has gone 162-0 based on her knowledge of the game. Yet, she still claims she's one of the biggest baseball fans in town. On the other hand, I do have a lot of newbie fan friends that have followed the Brewers for the past few years, and as big of fans they've become, still show no shame in asking me or others questions about the game itself. Whether it be "why'd they bunt there?" or "why'd they pull Sheets after 6 when he hasn't given up a run?" and I really appreciate that and will explain it to em without feeling like they are bandwagon fans or more importantly, idiots to the game. The people that bug me are the former that hate Pujols for no reason other than he's a great ballplayer with what some think has a hilarious last name, hate the Cubs when in reality it's their fans that make me hate the organization, or some reliver because everytime he pitches he's lights out with the rare case he's lit up and then he should be traded or sent down. That really gets me hot and bothered. Otherwise I have no problems with people excited that they're hometown baseball team is doing well. I know I wasn't a Packers fan until 7th or 8th grade and only followed the Bucks a few years in the early 2000's. It's hard to root for any team unless you truly love the sport. I can't blame anyone for not following a team that's better known for losing than winning. See the Tampa Bay Ray's Attendance Thread.
  22. I don't intend on moving from Milwaukee in the future, and maybe this is a different mindset from those in Florida, but as a Brewers fan, and a fan of baseball in general, you'd think that the number of transplants would see that that there's a very exciting young team in Tampa Bay. That doesn't necissarily mean that the population needs to jump ship of the team they follow regularly, but to see a live game in general would draw attendance. Hell, we all saw it coming that the Rays would someday be a respectful team based on draft picks, but the fact that they're on the brink of September and are beating two of the highest paid and traditioned teams in baseball kinda blows my mind. Some of these retired people that transplanted should really realize that this team is capable of winning the World Series and take note. If I did move to that city, even if the Brewers weren't playing, I'd still be overly excited to see a playoff calaber team. Pretty sad if you ask me. I know Dolphins stadium is a drive for those in Miami, but how far outta the area is Tropacana? There's plenty of people that come from the Fox Valley, Racine/Kenosha, and the Madison area for Brewers games. My mind is just boggled they're attendance isn't higher. Also, I've had a few.
  23. So I was planning on going to the game today, but SRO are even gone. Anyone got an extra Hardy, they can part with? I'd like to get both jerseys so I don't gotta deal with eBay. Please let me know. I can do trade, but all my stuff is currently boxed up at my Dad's basement, so cash would be easier. Thanks!
  24. Hammonds is probably the hardest, I got mine for around 20 but that was before everyone was collecting bobbleheads. The Molitor alternate is hard to find, and goes for 150, I haven't seen one in awhile though. Luckily I got that one at the game. First bobblehead game too!
  25. The few times I've met Fergie he was incredibly nice to me. Both times was at the All Star Fan Fest (one in milwaukee and the other in chicago). He was really nice to my younger cousins asking them about school and replied to my cousin "that was my favorite subject too." Maybe it was because there were kids around, but it was still a great experience for them and I had left with a great impression. How much was the JJ Hardy signing at Jeffs? Finally, how often does Kendall and Rivera sign in the lot? I'm gonna try to get down there one day early before the end of the season, but thsoe are the only two guys I need to finish my bat, I always have the hardest time getting catchers.
