  1. Went to Tosa East and was in and out in about 5 minutes (voter 692). There were student government kids out there doing a brief survey. It was about 12 multiple choice questions and that took longer than voting itself. I've never waited longer than 5 minutes there. Not looking forward to standing in lines when I move to Milwaukee. Pierce Street School is always insanity.
  2. Oh yeah? Find me a cheat for pong http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. I was in on the bidding for the Sheets bobble. Unfortunately I fell asleep with an hour left of bidding, or I woulda won it.
  4. I just watched it. The kid had it coming and I kinda hope he broke his leg(s). Total dolt.
  5. I don't think this was a Bud idea so I'm not sure where this comes from. Right after the suspension happened, Selig said they'd finish the World Series over Thanksgiving dinner if they had to. I would hope they don't shorten the season at all. Playing late into September and then in October is great for the game. The conditions create part of the lure of the game. However, if the AL/NLDS went to 7 games, I don't know how I'd feel about that. Baseball has a great playoff system for series matchups. Basketball and Hockey bring in 16 teams with best of 7 whatever (Maybe it's only 5 for the first round of the NHL, I'm not sure), and it's sub .500 teams getting blown out by the best teams in the league. Boring city. Keep the season the same length and the playoffs the same format.
  6. yeah 100 bucks is ridiculous. it's not like the vuck is Sandy Koufax or something. I wonder how many people will show up for that.
  7. I only had Zima once about 5 years ago. My friend bought me a 6 pack from the expired beer store for a birthday present. I had one and remember it tasting kinda like a bad smirnoff ice. Can anyone confirm or disconfirm this?I made him drink one, and gave the rest away. Still 14 years is a pretty good run, Coke 2 and Crystal Pepsi only lasted 12-18 months tops.
  8. "This decision is necessary to reduce complexity when it comes to our brand portfolio, allowing for more focused activity at retail on consumer-preferred brands, especially Sparks" YEAH!!! SPARKS!!!!
  9. It was intimidating getting an autograph from Bob Gibson at Cooperstown. And I paid to get it.
  10. Milwaukee has more bars than per capita than any other city I believe. It's not really so much a joke as it is true. What I do know is, that once you make the choice to be responsible and get a full time career job where you have to be at work by 8, even on the weekends you don't feel the need to drink to much. My tolerance is way down since just two months ago, when I was drinking on work nights, but had a job that started at noon. Friday I still enjoy having some beers, but Saturday's are much more tame, even when hanging out at a party or a place that isn't so tame. I remember a time when we did a power hour (a shot of beer every minute), and I blew through 9 beers in an hour. Then went out with my friends to a bar (where one of my friends kept playing with a pitcher he bought). Those days are way over.
  11. granted this is too little too late, but i like landmark the best of all the bigger bars in the area. it's a little smokey, but they have pool, free darts, tons of pinball and video games, and you can bowl too if you'd like. plus the drink specials are consistently great. i can't handle the Water street crowd. It is generally a buncha d-bags either looking to fight, or take home girls (by trying WAY too hard), or both. Not to mention beer is ridiculously overpriced. Apparently that works, but there's way more frat jerks than punk kids in this town, so they can get away with it. I pretty much just stick to Riverwest (which isn't for everyone, either).
  12. Yeah, but Lambeau only plays 8-10 home games a year. We have 81. I'm sure they make plenty off of parking. I know a lot of that money doesn't go directly to the Brewers, but I think 15 is plenty considering you still have a good hike to get into the park once you can get out of your car
  13. I just showed my girlfriend, who never drops f bombs. She just did. What the..?!?!?! That was followed by "How does his agent let him do this? There's gotta be better work available for him" And yes Rah Rah, everything does go between their legs. That was the best of all the cheese spots.
  14. How much is the show? I don't care for any other of the bands, but I'd be interested in the Beasties. I wonder how old they are now, and what kinda stuff they play? I saw them in 1996 for Lollapallooza, and then on a seperate tour a few years after that and both were two of the best sets I've ever seen. I don't think they can hold that up 12 years later. Though I could be wrong.
  15. Just started the Wire. So far so good. Probably gonna finish season 1 by the end of the week/early next week. Sveumrules, my friend found his copy of Bingo Long and gave it to me. What'd ya think? It was funny at times, not the best baseball movie but not the worst either. Clearly it's no Major League or Bull Durham.
  16. Ryan Church flying out in the 9th on the final Sunday of the year.
  17. Hanel, Mota, Shouse, Counsell, and Castro.
  18. Toilet papering to me was a sign of ALL. OUT. WAR. I see why it's respect for people and all that hoopla. But if you respect someone, can't you just make them a cake, put it on the porch, ring the bell and run away? T Bone (and others), with fall here, one thing you can do is wait until street sweepers get all the leaves into huge piles. Then get 300 garbage bags and fill them up with leaves. Then fill a couple of vans with the bags. Then fill up some poor schmucks front yard with leaves. This is especially great if you notice they had just raked their entire yard that day.
  19. yeah, i woulda just snuck out around the back door with lots of eggs and just start tearing up their car...that takes paint off...you win. but instead, it sounds like you lost. coulda been worse, they coulda broke the ends off the forks. I used to really tear it up with my friends. One year we had 75 christmas trees on a girls yard right after Christmas. We also managed to get about 3 on each door so they couldn't get out of their homes till the neighbors came over and helped em.
  20. The best thing about all this is next year when I go to a game and deal with all those jokers, I can say "Who did better in last years playoffs?" 100 years and counting. [spicoli voice] Awesome. Totally Awesome [/spicoli voice]
  21. I wouldn't bother the players before the game, they have bigger things on their mind. Especially after tonight. BHF. If I were you, I would do everything I could to put the fear of god in their eyes. You can't go in there like "excuse me sir, I ordered this, and got this" I would walk in guns blazing like "listen here jive turkey, you completley screwed up my order and if you don't fix it, I'm calling the Better Business Bureau." drop Jeff's sports as much as you can, tell em you post on Brewerfan.net and you plan on bad mouthing them about their business, and probably mention something about taking advantage of 1250am to get on the air and bad mouth their bad service. If you go in completely angry, as you seem you are, you will get results. However, don't let yourself get carried away and start shouting profanities or anything to over the top. I've found out with any type of customer service, 99% of the time, you can fight your way to what you deserve. You just gotta get tuff with these people. It doesn't hurt to have your reciept and bring all yer merch with you. On a side note BHF, you got Yount in the players lot?!?! Did he sign a lot? I have an in on getting a ball signed, so I'm jacked about that, but the players lot? Awesome!
  22. Being a teacher, a new teacher, I can't take off. The bad part too is that we get out at 3:45. I'll have game day on my computer last hour. I plan on racing to the closest place that has the game on after school to catch the end of it. The only way any of this changes is if we get a massive snowstorm tonight. Say a prayer.
  23. I know people are looking for em from time to time. I just saw this one while looking around at other stuff. Hope of of you guys gets it! http://cgi.ebay.com/Jeffr...&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  24. I know someone that got that signed at the Brewers block party. Pretty silly, but still pretty neat. They seem to go for pretty cheap too, I might choose to get one as they're on the bay a lot.
