2008 magnetic schedule. I need one. Will trade or buy.
Bikeage77 replied to brewerjamie15's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
If I'm not too drunk or rushed after the game, I'll try to run through the seats and find some extras. Most of the time stuff like that is left out...Jamie and Joe, you guys have both helped me out in the past, so I'll see what I can do for ya...after that, I'm willing ot help out anyone else in line...I just hope I remember to grab a gameday at the opener this year, or I might be hitting ya up sooner than ya know it http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif -
if this is guaranteed authentic...
Bikeage77 replied to billyhallfan's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I wrote him quick and gave him the 4 dead giveaways why it's not authentic (numbers not on front, authentic tag, mlb logo stitched in the back, and the shadowed/gold blue numbers, letters)...and tried to tell him that while it's a nice jersey, it's a replica and not authentic, and he might want to let the highest bidder know. I have written to sellers before, and have always had positve responses, mostly thanking me for pointing out their errors. If you are polite about it, you might not get a reply like "you goofball" or "stop it clown" Maybe I will get that reply as well, since I have no idea how either of you guys worded it, but whatever, I'm not bidding on it. -
a few years ago the onion did a free tailgate party in the middle of the east lot (off the freeway, near ganters gardens), where they gave out free lake front beer, and sausages...i dont think it was there the last two years, though the past two years i didnt really look around for a free party since i was busy with my own tailgate...good luck!

flosses like fossas injured in preseason crash
Bikeage77 replied to flosses like fossas's topic in Off-Topic Forum
i should be, but since he's part of my fantasy league, it sounds like his preperation for this years draft is pretty good...so maybe i shouldn't wish him a speedy recovery http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif...get better lil' john, see ya at the draft!!!! -
Good Fellas is in my top 3 movies of all time, so that's number one. 2. Casino 3. Boys In The Hood 4. Scarface 5. The Warriors Pretty cliche answers, I know...I loved the Godfather, but only saw it once, I've owned Godfather 2 for over a year, and am yet to watch it because of my lack of time...i know, i failed.

Jeff Cirillo had/has a real myspace page that one of his friends mostly keeps track of. Ben Hendrickson and Dana Eveland also have one, I was able to do an interview with Hendrickson via myspace for the Brew Crew myspace Page, then MLB shut it down, along with about 50 other mlb fan pages...15,000 friends, gone. After that I decided not to start another one, but I was pretty bummed out about the entire thing.

Yeah, but they don't even have merch at their shows...they could easily sell stuff each time they played and make even more money. I suppose they don't want people to feel they HAVE to buy something there when they can just come and enjoy live music. We both know his/Fugazi's work ethic is unparalled. Ian runs Dischord, but outside of Fugazi, and bands that had members of Fugazi (Ritses Of Spring, Minor Threat, Embrace, etc), I don't know too many people that have stuff on that label. Not to say some indie rock kid goes nuts when the new Q and not U album comes out, but only a few of those bands really pull in major sales. Enough to keep them afloat while Fugazi or pre Fugazi records allow them to put stuff out for other bands. All I know is that they have to be doing something right in the grand scheme of things. Even if I am wrong and Brendan and Joe Lalli are doing whatever they do on the side to pay bills, you can't argue that the way they go about things is unprecidented and pretty much every otherwell known band out there is too afraid to do it themselves.

bands really do "tour basements" and belive me, i'd much rather play a show with 25 people in the basement going nuts, than a bar that holds 200 with 25 sitting at the bar and not caring if yer there or not. we just got back from touring in january, and our basement shows were a total blast, i'd actually say our basement show in chattanooga was one of the most fun shows i've ever played. I've toured 6 times and played in 35 states...

I usually make 2 packs breaking up the noodles first then drain the noodles and use one pack of the spice. To make it a little creamier, I add a little bit of mayo and then a little siracha and soy sauce for good measure. I used to boil the noodles, drain em, and then fry em in a little oil for a few minutes while mixing in seasoning and mixed veggies which would make them a little crunchy. Theres a webpage thats got 100 ways to make ramen, but im too lazy to find the link right now

But if they received mainstream radio play, you hipsters wouldn't be able to like it and you'd all become Nickelback fans because they weren't on the radio anymore!image I'd still like it, and I'd be proud of them. Until they started releasing songs only to please the reviewers and not thinking for themselves. I never once thought that Green Day, Rancid, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, or Face To Face would be on the radio. But one day I was in high school (97) and that happened. I went through a short "Sell Out" phase, but now I'm extremely proud of them. The reason why is that they paid their dues. They toured basements and small clubs, trying to break even on gas money. They put out multiple albums before they got radio play. I have a feeling Nickelback never played a show than to less than 500 people. Those bands can then raise their prices to an extent because they lost their ass on tours they did for years and probably got back from tour trying to figure out how to pay rent (at least that's what happens when myself or my friends bands get back from tour usually). But that's what we/they love, so we do it. What I appreciate most in all of music though is Fugazi booking one show at a time. Charging 6 bucks and playing a second show if the first one sells out, and taking a day off if it doesnt. Their work ethic is the greatest ever, they figured out a brilliant way to meet their needs, make a living, and making their shows affordable to anyone who would like to see them. They actually care about their fans and will talk to them for hours after their shows. I've heard Fugazi on the 102.1, and it blew my mind. They didn't have any say in the matter, but it rules they do that. I've also been told that they play Fugazi at Redskins games. They're more loved in Washington than politicians, because they've done everything right. (Including turning down a blank check from Geffen Records when Nirvana got huge). It's unfortunate more bands don't go this route, because they are too scared, or know they can make tons more money instead of being happy that they can tour and get by and pay the bills and be middle class like the rest of the country.

Brian, what would you write in a song thats about being a rockstar? I think thats a pretty good verse. Thats just me though, I guess you guys must listen to something amazing, even AC/DC one of the best bands has some WEIRD and easy lyrics. Without reading this entire thread, I can tell you why. Did they write this song as a joke, and some suit told them to put it on the record? Did they think they were so clever or ironic cuz they sell a million copies? Join the mile high club at 45,000 feet? GAHHHHHHHH!!!! They prolly could did that song by LFO about girls wearing abercrombie and fitch, and how chinese food makes them sick. It's god awful with no thought, how they live with themselves is beyond me. I'm not trying to point fingers here, but anyone who thinks their a great band, or even a good band, I have to ask: IS THIS THE ONLY "ROCK" BAND YOU'VE EVER HEARD?!?!?!?! Seriously. I love generic pop punk like Screeching Weasel, and if you don't, thats fine. All their songs sound a lot alike, mostly 4 or less chords, but their catchy, and their honest. I also don't get sick of them because they aren't played on the radio to the second of every hour. I have a choice of listening to them or not (where I work, WKTI is on the overhead speakers) If the lyrics of that Rockstar song weren't so incredibly dumb, I probably wouldn't be sitting here wanting to puke just thinking about the song. There are plenty of terrible bands out there, but they die out or aren't played as regularly. How can other people think they are so ironic or clever that they'd want to buy this crap? I don't know their other songs much, but that should be a B side to a single that hardly anyone will buy. Geeze, now I just feel bad for those that like these clowns. I thought someone just fronted the radio a ton of money (probably Nickleback themselves) to play that song so damn often. Now I find out people actually LIKE this ballroom crud. Yeeeech

It's really hard to say for either of them. I don't think the odds that either hits 60 this year are very good. Pitchers will continue to adapt to both guys, likewise, both Fielder and Braun will continue to adapt to pitchers. Will pitchers make more or less mistakes to either guy than last year, do they both just have freak power that they can go yard on pretty much any pitch? I would imagine that there has to be at least some consideration about Braun switching to left, if that will affect him mentally at the plate. That seemed to be what happened to Hall last season, or pitchers just adjusted to him more than 2 seasons ago. I guess none of us will really know until both are in their early 30's if they will do it or not. This season and the following two will probably determine if they have a legit shot at 60. Though as someone said, both aren't looking to hit em out every time, they'd like to be situational hitters. And to quick touch on why we only had 83 wins, I think it was more pitching than the overall homerun total. Our bullpen was shot because Vargas and Bush could only get through 5 innings most of the time, and Capuano didn't fare all that great either most of the season. Hopefully we won't be trotting 3 or 4 relivers out there 5 nights a week and our starters can eat more innings.

I think the 9 game pack is perfect sense, and they're not too greedy. You have to remember there are a lot of people from the fox valley, racine, or madison area that cannot commit to 20 games. There's probably a lot of recent that are pretty jacked up from last season. Those people wouldn't have considered buying a ticket pack in years past that did this year. I attended 30+ games the past few years, I missed out on the ticket pack because of financial reasons, was gonna get (and still am) gonna get a 9 pack for a birthday present (last thursday), but missed out on the opening day ticket because they ran out. I plan on camping out for tickets, and I'll be happy if I can get a standing room, though I'd much rather perfer a seat. Speaking of which, does anyone know if you can get ANY game for that 10th ticket? I wouldn't mind getting the last game of the year over opening day. That game could potentially be the greatest Brewer game I'll ever see if it comes down to the last day against the Scrubs.

Your favorite baseball videogame of all time?
Bikeage77 replied to Bballerfan1212's topic in Off-Topic Forum
I also loved Baseball Stars, but there were no two teams that were equal. You had the dreams that blew everyone away, and then the Tokyo Robins who were a not so close second. The Ladies were decent, but the only thing they were good for was building up cash. The build yer own team aspect completely ruled, and the game play was good as well. There just wasn't many fair matchups in that game, IMO. Also, and I'm sure you all know, but you could get a pitcher that had 75 or higher for rookie price, and turn him into a 90 max superstar. beacuse the popularity meter (i can't remember what it's called for the life of me) is featured in both the players batting, and pitching. Fill up everything in pitching first, then click over to their batting and fill that up. The max points will grow because your actually using the batting statistic points. That was the greatest video game secret I ever figured out about myself, as a 5th grade child. -
Your favorite baseball videogame of all time?
Bikeage77 replied to Bballerfan1212's topic in Off-Topic Forum
i like the ea games but i really enjoy bad news baseball..pretty similar to rbi, but you can slide and dive which makes it a bit more fun...rbi brings back tons of memories as well, mostly me and my friend staying up all night playing each other and then throwing the controller everytime the shortstop should go for the ball but the controller sets it on the 3rd baseman (and other similar situations) -
So I think I'm screwed because I get paid under the table...which I spose is like getting the extra money straight up all the time. However, I'm also a homeowner, and maybe that can help to some extent...I might have to see if my boss can file paperwork or something for me, however, I don't know how possible that is at this point...I could do so much with 300-600 dollars its stupid, especially since every dime I'm making is pretty much goin into a morgage payment for a house I'm trying to sell, and don't even live in anymore...guh.

Brewers Winter Warm-Up! Show Off Your Autographs!
Bikeage77 replied to bobbledude25's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I had just read it on the Brewers release on the winter warmups. They didn't announce the players, but I'm assuming its Yo, Braun, and the other guys named for the dinner thing. When the 1982 Brewers were all in town this summer for the World Series anniversary most of them signed. Molitor and Yount were crazy, and people were jumping line and pushing all the way there, and it was insane. I actually took the time to write a letter to the public relations on it because autograph Friday's has always seemed very organized and to put Molitor and Yount in the walkways along 1st and 3rd base line with no gates or anything to keep the line organized, I was really disapointed. Then I found out the next day that my friend got Sutton, Thomas, Simmons, Gantner, and a few other ones in less than 20 minutes. Guh. -
Brewers Winter Warm-Up! Show Off Your Autographs!
Bikeage77 replied to bobbledude25's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
You didn't read the whole article. That's for the dinner. Normally I believe those dinner tickets are only available to the media and totally rich guys. The 14th there will be players signing in the fan zone. They're giving away a wristband to the first 150 people to guarantee that they will get an autograph for that session. I know I was furious when I didn't get Molitor this summer and there was really no way to tell where the cutoff was or anything, that and it prevents people from jumping the line (not that I've seen that happen at the Fan Zone, but have seen it happen many times on Autograph Fridays. -
Alright, so it's august, and by now you've heard a bunch of summer hits on various radio stations... what are your top 3 radio jams of the summer? Keep in mind that if I didn't work at a store that didn't play these on Kiss FM I'd prolly never here these cuz I'm a punk rock kid, but I can't get any of these outta my head!!! mine are: (in order) Sean Kingston: Beautiful Girls Mickey Avalon: Jane Fonda Pink: I'm Not Here For Your Entertainment (added tag --1992)

the original rally rabbit was the drummer for the green bay pop punk band Boris The Sprinkler, he started his schtick as the Rhythm Chicken and would play all over the place in Milwaukee. Bus stops, medians, parks, whatever. The Brewers caught him on the Bay View parade, got in contact with him, and started calling him the Rally Rabbit. He did it for the money, but hated that his Rhythm Chicken name was being taken away so he quit. They were gonna do a bobblehead for him too. The second rally rabbit was garbage, and basically reminded me of the Simpsons episode of Itchy Scratchy, and Pootchie. Totally cartooning a guy up and i always wanted to punch him in the face. So glad version 2.0 is gone. Milwaukee is for the most part a working class town, and the original Bernie Brewer represented that, as did the first Rally Rabbit. By making these guys all touched up and cartoonish, it appeals to kids, but I think it takes something away from the city itself. Sure, we don't put much notice into anything if it's done up like that originally, but when there's the low budget mascot in street clothes and a rabbit head found in a dumpster (which is where Paul got the head), and then some remade version all fancy with the personality of a shoe, it really does lose a lot of its charm.

personally, i think it would be great if everytime he came to the plate the entire stadium was just dead silent. it would never happen, but a sell out crowd that doesn't make a peep until he got out would really be something commendable, by any stadium. it would probably ice bonds a bit as well. this record doesn't matter much anyway, in 10 years, i hope a rod or pujols breaks it. on a side note, braun got 15 dingers in 50 games, the most recent rookie to do that was pujols who got it in 49.

My friend thinks he may have came up with a new stat to compare a closers performance. I know a lot of you guys love the numbers aspect of the game, as do I, so I'm curious as to what you guys think. SERA: Saves / ERA I'll use the current top 5 save leaders in each league and rank them based on the stat itself. I spose this might or might not work well as far as set up guys too for hold situations. I dunno, fun with numbers I guess. Still wouldn't mind hearing others thoughts, if you think this could be a meaningful stat, of just stick to ERA and WHIP when it comes to a relievers role. 1. JJ Putz: 27/0.81 = 33.333 2. Takashi Saito: 24/1.63 = 14.724 3. Billy Wagner: 20/1.52 = 13.158 4. Trevor Hoffman: 25/1.91 = 13.089 5. Francisco Rodriguez: 24/2.16 = 11.111 6. Francisco Cordero: 29/2.63 = 10.646 7. Jose Valverde: 27/2.75 = 9.818 8. Bobby Jenks: 25/3.52 = 7.102 9. Joe Borowski: 26/5.30 = 4.906 10. Todd Jones: 23/5.06 = 4.545
