  1. I don't think the shirts are necissarily funny or clever, however, when i was in a band for 2 weeks with my friend Yuske who flew into Milwaukee just to be in this band, his idea for a name was The Crash (like The Clash), I thought that was hilarious, but we decided to go as The Big Mistakes instead, which was also funny
  2. I can see how putting the actual MLB team logo on the jersey would be an infringement, but I think it's ridiculous that you can't have some cursive font that says an MLB team name on it. I played Tosa League and we just had some colored jersey and one year our division was all NFL names, the next was MLB names. But as a kid when I was on the White Sox, even though I couldn't wear the hat during a game, I wanted a White Sox hat, to represent my team off the field. To ban the logos that's one thing, the team name is what really gets me. As far as hats, there are plenty of off shoot cheaper hats that are all licensed by MLB, couldn't they use those? I also wonder how much the kids will notice this, it might not even matter, but since we're all older and remember our team teams and whatever, we'd want our kids to have actual team names instead of the bulldogs or something lame.
  3. In Riverwest, we declared it summer a few weeks ago when we played our first game of Gunshots or Fireworks.
  4. how do you search for a particular seller on ebay? i have the scorecard of dana's first start if the eveland family is at all interested
  5. i haven't sold any of my stuff turbo, but i check ebay here and there for signed stuff to buy...i've noticed it's considerably cheaper to buy non sweetspotted stuff than balls signed on the SS and outta curiosity, do you think a braun brewers jersey signed would be worth more than a stars jersey? i'm goin to a game in huntsville in a few weeks and am thinking about picking one up to get signed...i've heard minor league jerseys are much cheaper than mlb authentic ones
  6. I've seen Coop sign before every Houston game i've been to I bet Don Sutton, like Tony Gwynn signs before the game during commercial breaks...Tony Gwynn even does the inscription, Sutton did the HOF inscription without asking when the 82 team was here last year...save yer 65 bucks on something worth while...otherwise just go on ebay and get it for the 35 or 40 it's prolly going for all the time...that's 40 bucks worth of savings, since you don't have to worry about buying a ball as well....i bet flats are like 20 on ebay
  7. losing streak is there best album without question, borders and boundries came after that, and then anthem...borders and boundries is excellent, but only like 2 of my friends who love that band agree with me...anthem is hit and miss, i don't have anything after that, but that's okay...if you only see them once every few years they come up with new gimmicks and stuff....that first warped tour at the rave they blew everyone outta the water, but that was also during losing streak and yes, warped tour was at the rave
  8. On those balls, I'd say that the Corey Hart ball isn't gonna be worth as much becuase of the sharpie...but witht the Future Game logo it might even out to be about the same as a ball not sweetspoted with ink to begin with...15 tops? I'd prolly say that for the Mike Lowell and D-Train ball as well because they aren't sweetspotted....Miggy could be closer to 25 I'd assume Not sweetspoted decreases the value a significant amount, bringing the regular value down anywhere between 1/3 and 1/2 I'd estimate
  9. I would hope times have changed in the past few years, but I swear, everytime I saw them they were boring and WAYYYYY outta tune. This happened when I saw them in Chicago at the bowling alley (which is now gone, and can't remember it's name for the life of me)...the Globe, The Rave, and Marcus opening for Blink 182 and Green Day...********* is a great album, and so is the next one, after that they weren't worth it that much LTJ on the 4th though will rule, they are one of the most entertaining live bands around, and they still play a decent amount of older stuff
  10. I have a dream that I'm on the Eagle at Six Flags, and after the big drop, on the next hill the car launches off the rails and I wake up just before it hits the ground. I've also had a similar dream where the car is stuck just as were about to go over the hill, so I'm facing down the entire time. This isn't reoccurring, but I had a dream one time where I was standing on the sidelines at Lambeau Field in full uniform, and at Mike Sherman came up to me and said "Yeah, Brett's not gonna be able to start. Get in there, you know the playbook" But in the dream I didn't know the playbook at all. Then I woke up, I was kinda in a sweat from all of that.
  11. just go in there with a piece of paper that says NO on it. right when you sit down, as they start hitting you with questions just point at the sign till you get the vacation. last year I won too, and I knew how the sales pitch went (my parents made my sister and i sit through one of those for about 2 hours once so we could all go to universal studios for free)...so i was ready to do it and just sit through the crap, but i didn't make 25,000 which was required, so i never went. i guess another way for them to stop calling you is be like "that's terrific! my credit card company just cut me off and i'm about to file bankrupsy, so this trip will really be a stress reliever" i've done that with credit card companies back when i had a home phone and they back off really quick
  12. the best place to go is ebay, that is if you are planning on getting multiple balls...i usually would order a case for 100 bucks or so and get 12 balls...you have to pay for shipping too, but it turns out to be about 10 a ball, though then you have to get the cases on yer own
  13. do it jamie! most bike shops have used bikes if yer not into the idea of buying a new one (most start around 350), used bikes are around 100, in two tanks of gas youve paid it off, and you get great exercise...3 miles is nothing, that's like 12 minutes tops!!!
  14. also, wednesday is bike to the brewers game...people are meeting at the outpost on state street in tosa around 5, and the milwaukee bike federation is going to be leading the way, with free brats and riverwest stein at the park...i can't remember where they are meeting near the east side...you are responsible for your own ticket
  15. kinda a bump incase anyone missed it. I hope the weather stays nice cuz I gotta ride rain or shine this week. That's not too bad, I give mad props to the fixed gear guys that ride all winter. You can dress for the cold, but the ice is pretty crazy, especially since you rely on skidding.
  16. Out of curiosity, where is Chris Saenz as far as rehab goes? He had surgery last year right? I can't even recall what he had goin on, or where he is physically right now, but I'd like for him to be an option.
  17. I have the opposite of sleepwalking: I kind of wake up, but cannot move One of my friends has the same thing, though when he wakes up and can't move he'll foot of the bed, and an image of an old terrifying woman is sitting on his feet. It's known as Old Hag Syndrome. I've heard a few people talk about it. George Noory on Coast To Coast (am late night talk show), has talked about it happening to him a few times. I know I would sleep walk on rare occassion as a kid. A few times I know I fell asleep in my bedroom and wake up the next day in the basement, it freaks you out. It's happened to me a few times in the past few months. My girlfriend said I got up and started digging through her closet, then went into the bathroom and started looking behind the mirror/cabinet, and after that I started cleaning the toilet with the towel she uses to dry her hair. It was pretty embarrassing when she was telling me about it. The other time was a few weekends ago, I got up, dug in her closet a bit, then went to the sink in the kitchen and turned on the water and was just staring at it. Apparently her roommate got up to go to the bathroom, as he was approaching, I guess I was like "dont worry, i have this under control" just staring at water coming out of the sink. It's embarrassing to an extent, but I gotta laugh about it now that its over and I didn't hurt myself or break anything.
  18. crazy, you can get to work as fast as you can pedal...but seriously, i'd give yourself maybe 40-45 minutes the first day just to play it safe? it takes me about 23 minutes from the east side to tosa. obviously you have to take stop light traffic into consideration, but you can blow stop lights, just be safe about it and don't put yerself at risk...hope to hear that ya gave it a try! i work at a bike shop, so i usually just ride up there, change shirts, and always carry deodorant on me and throw some on right after i stash my bike in the basement, i can get away with being a little sweaty and customers respect im riding my bike since i work at a bike shop
  19. I posted a bulletin about this last year, and it seemed some took interest, so I'm doing it again. (Last year, I was even late on it a few days) Anyway, now that gas is about 3.89 a gallon, and it's been beautiful out the past week, time to get out there and make yourself feel good about exercising! Air up your tires and ride to work instead of driving. You'll find that if you work within a 5 mile radius of your home, you can get to work almost as fast as with a car. It takes me about 7-10 minutes longer by bike from the east side to Tosa than with a car. In doing so, your not only saving a few bucks, but you'll probably find to be proud of yourself after doing it. Who knows you may even decide to ride to work all summer, don't let a little rain scare you either, but I understand if it's pouring http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. I'm not too sure if there's anything I can really do about this, it may be too late. Friday was the first night my girlfriend and I sat in our 9 game pack (we didn't get em before opening day was still part of it), and our tickets are pretty obstructed by the railing. They're in 426, which is where my tickets were last year, but we were moved down the row to the isle. I told the lady I wanted the same seats, or at least section I had last year. She said these were available, and while I knew the area where we were gonna be sitting, my girlfriend didn't and we asked to see our section. That day the lady couldn't bring us up there, but offered to take us up there a few days later if we wanted to come back. We declined, because I knew where they were and you can find views online. The biggest thing is that she didn't mention anything about them being obstructed. On Friday we ended up moving to a spot where we could see, but I don't want to do that every game especially since most Friday games are gonna be near or will be sell outs, and come playoff time, I'd like to be able to see home plate clearly, without a big railing in my way. Do you think it's too late to do anything about this? I'm more bummed out for my girlfriend who was excited to get 9 packs with me and wants to learn the game (she's even learning to keep score!), but I don't want bad seats all season to ruin her experiences either. Any suggestions?
  21. I'll have to see how much the Mr 3000 one goes for. I got mine from ebay for 15-20 a few years ago. Mine just had a white box though, is there a real box that came with it? Since I never saw it before, I just got in there and bought it without thinking too much about it.
  22. When I was at Fan Fest, I saw a stub signed by Weeks with "1st MLB Homerun" written under it going for 25. If they woulda got Fielder on it without the inscribing, I'd imagine it could be worth more since so many people just toss their stubs after the game. Is it also possible that the stub would be worth more if it was a better seat? or a season ticket instead of just a box office one? I would imagine it could play a role, but I'm not sure how much it really matters. Stuff like that is cool to have, just for the sake of memory. I wonder how much cerain scorecards go for sometimes since I love keeping score and do it at pretty much every game. I have A-Rod's 400th HR, Yount's 3000th, Ryan's 300th, and Ben Sheets 18K along with the game he broke the franchise record for K's. These probably don't have much value now, but someday possibly: Gallardo's first start, and Liriano's first start (or win?) from a few years ago. I also have the scorecard that Hall hit the game winner on Mother's day and wrote "Clutch" under his name, and Manny Parra's first MLB game where he wrote Debut under his name. WSSP
  23. I wasn't part of an in game thread all last year, you'd think i'd be excited to be here....alright, mota got out of it...i need a drink, phew!
  24. Riske should be ready...but this is really irritating
  25. I suppose Yount, Molly, and Gumby are obvious choices, here's some other ones: Loved: Glen Braggs Darryl Hamilton Scott Podsednik Jim Abbott Greg Vaughn Russell Branyan Hated: Gary Sheffield Wes Helms Victor Santos Johnny Estrada
