    Shouldn’t we assume if the Brewers didn’t protect any of these guys on the triple A roster that they made an evaluation that they were ok with losing them to the draft? I know it’s easy to fall in love with prospects but realistically how many of these guys are ever going to make it to the majors? churning of roster depth seems like just normal off season business to me.

    Yeah they know 4 years for “ probably over 100 million “ ain’t going to get it done……not for them. He's going to get a good contract ……probably 5 years…..with lots of choices he isn’t choosing the Pirates unless they would massively overpay…….and even then probably not.

    The most Devin has ever pitched in a season is 62 innings………so that comes to about 275k per inning at 17 M per season.

    Borrowing on the equity is a stupid way to run a business ( it’s what got Selig into, trouble) and we don’t know how much profit they are making. The Brewers play in baseball’s smallest market and last year had a payroll that ranked 18th……not really sure why people think they are cheap.     I doubt Matt Arnold or any competent GM would agree with you. lockridge needs options to have value………closers who throw 100 mph and have a plus knuckle curve don’t…….
