If he’s Woody of old you are never going to get him for 2 years 27.5 Million. He will opt out. This is a 1 year 17 million dollar deal structured in a way that is advantageous to the team. It’s a mutual option not an option just for Woody.

It does give them the option to pinch hit for Sanchez when Contreras is DHing without losing the DH…….that’s only reason I can think of.

I guess I don’t get the need to keep Hasse on the active roster …….unless they are concerned about Sanchez ability to catch because of the wrist. i mean aren’t there better uses of a roster spot?
