    We will see how it plays out but I am doubtful that 10 million for a closer is in the budget for a team with a payroll of 95-110 million and lots of other guys getting big raises in 2022. I think they move him FWIW they paid Hoffman $8 mil in 2010, KRod $8 mil in 2008 and Gagne $10 mil in 2008. So $10 mil for Hader wouldn’t be so outlandish for our history. And he is light years better than these 3. I think if they had those decisions to make today they wouldn’t do it…….no doubt Hader is much better…..Much different informational environment now versus then…..and a different GM making the decisions on how to spend the money……..even if the same owner is cutting the checks. But as I said this is just my opinion on what Stearns/Arnold/MA will do……’we will see in the coming months.

    Murray implies in the podcast that Hader has some personal animosity towards the organization ( not CC ). I’m assuming it has to do with losing his last arbitration case but obviously I have no idea.

    Where a guy like Suter could have been needed is an extra inning game. With no runner in 2nd it’s certainly possible to have an extended game ……..Suter is a quality pitcher who certainly could have been needed since you never know how a game will go. Being without Williams and Suter really puts pressure on the other guys.

    One thing to keep in mind if the series does go 5…….Burnes will start but Woody will also be well rested……I would anticipate CC using him to back up Burnes or just be the 7th and/or 8th inning guy depending how the game plays out.

    It won’t be just CC you are questioning………those kinds of decisions are made by the organization as a whole……if you think CC is doing this without input from Stearns, Arnold, Hook etc…….you haven’t been paying attention to how the brewers operate. If they pitch bad they pitch bad……it happens……Braves have a great offense. We can question anything we want……but nobody has anyway of knowing if pitching them more would have made them pitch better or worse next week.

    How about this……The Dodgers just finished sweeping the Padres……so if the Giants win 2 out of 3 vs the same team they will win the West……..if they don’t t they will have to play a tiebreaker……..if they lose it won’t be anyones fault……just that the Dodgers……a team with the highest payroll and best odds to win the World Series finally reeled them in……. Somebody has to lose

    Next week offers no guarantees…….we could have rolled through this week and still stunk it up against the Braves. So we’ve struggled down the stretch from a combination of poor play, resting key players and pitchers and playing some very hot teams. Let’s hope we play better against the Braves but if we don’t I still enjoyed the season.
