  1. I read it as he had no bad memories.... that 2017-18 was most fun he’s ever had. Marginal Free agents looking for a job don’t close the door by saying they aren’t interested in a team.
  2. It is a tongue in cheek type of a response to Friedman's quote. Yep..........humor isn’t his strong suit.......’
  3. https://www.mlb.com/news/ryan-braun-not-currently-interested-in-playing
  4. Not related to changing the ball but looks like video will be available this season
  5. Molina back with Cards 1 year per Heymon 9 million
  6. I think they are trying to change the swing for the fences/ strike out culture. It has made the game boring to many fans. If you make hitting home runs harder then players and front offices might value contact and speed more then they do now. I think that is the basic idea.
  7. I think it comes down to not wanting to have the trade blow up in their faces if the guy they trade away helps a rival take a division title or pennant from you......perhaps in multiple seasons. Having to face a guy 19 games a season can really piss a fan base off if he turns into Yelich or Garrett Cole. They know that trading for prospect packages is always iffy so why take the chance when you can get a comparable package without the headache of having the player come back to bite you. Can’t say I blame them too much.
  8. Just a reminder.......they aren’t trading him.......
  9. Let’s not give Arnold too much power. He isn’t deciding how much salary they take on......that will still be Stearns and MA. I know Arnold now has the GM title but let’s not kid ourselves about who the decision makers are. With that being said I agree on both counts....I doubt seriously the Cubs would trade him here or that we would take on his salary.
  10. Rosenthal says Indians aren’t likely to trade him https://theathletic.com/2371326/2021/02/06/rosenthal-nolan-arenado-trade-talk/
  11. Navarez at DH vs lefties? I think not.
  12. Keston with a great attitude.......
  13. My god are the Dodgers and Padres loaded
  14. Opt outs gives him the 1 year option if he wants it. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman · 1h Trevor Bauer decision is expected soon. As said yesterday, Mets are in at about $100M for 3 years with at least an opt-out after year 1. @Joelsherman1 says it’s $100-110M with opt-outs after year 1 and 2 with deadline set. Dodgers are the competition.
  15. Will Sammon @WillSammon · 1h On payroll flexibility after Wong, Stearns said: "We continue to evaluate every opportunity that's out there." He added that, "I don't think anything is necessarily off the table," but it has to make sense for this year and beyond.
  16. Apparently not much of a salary dump
