  1. They already announced Chacin is indeed pitching game 2 so no probably about it......and he obviously would then be on reg rest for 5.
  2. Peralta hadn't started for quite awhile.....still could be him......doesn't really matter who starts....I'm sure they know the matchup advantages better then we do. Now the righties just have to do the job. Chacin in game 2 makes sense......short rest ....shorter start....then full rest if needed in game 5.
  3. Just announced bullpen in first game....'no starter named yet Chacin on short rest in game 2.....will not pitch as deep per CC
  4. That was a long time ago. I will be shocked if Thames gets a spot. If you need a walk I'll take Granderson.
  5. Think the Rockies worry me more then the Cubs. Arenado and Story and the rest of that offense could get them the lead early which is obviously not the game plan we want. Will be lots of pressure to win the first 2 games here so as not to have to go to Colorado and face their top 2 pitchers on Sunday/Monday.
  6. The more I think about it I just don't think we can start 2 lefties if we face the Rockies. Arenado and Story just destroy lefties.......LeLahieu isn't far behind. I wonder if Burnes or Woodruff would be better options then Miley or Gio. http://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats/batting/_/name/col/split/31 The numbers vs Righties aren't bad but I'm not sure I want our lefties against the top of that order once or twice.
  7. For those wondering JJ was unavailable today for undisclosed reasons but is apparently ok and good to go for the NLDS
  8. Just don't see a spot for Thames. Not sure if they go with 8 pen arms either........last 2 spots might come down to Granderson/ Guerra/Jennings/Broxton.
  9. He is deserving but the guy from Atlanta is going to win I think.
  10. I don't think Jennings knew he was starting against Cards until he got to the park. He said it after the game........
  11. I wonder if the reason CC didn't name a starter is because he doesn't want one of the young bullpen guys thinking about it all night? Would he go with Woodruff or Freddy or Burnes for a couple of innings and then mix and match from there? Would be a lot to ask one of those guys to deal with the pressure but Freddy basically did it against the Cards after 1 hitter.
  12. Let's all take a moment to appreciate that we had to win 7 games in a row to close the season to get where we are right now. No matter what happens from here I'm proud of this team.
  13. But if you start Chacin then he can't pitch Tuesday.....emptying the pen or not. If you empty the pen then that mean you can't empty the pen Tuesday. I don't think anything is simple about the pitching decisions coming up.
  14. I wonder who starts tomorrow Chacin could go but you would like to use him in the wild card game if needed. If you pitch Chacin tomorrow then do you go with Davies on short rest on Tuesday? Interesting decisions
  15. Is it just a one HR lead? He now has 38. So 2 more than Yelich. Hes hit 3 today and blackmon with a cycle. My score AP says he hit 2 and has 37
  16. Both teams control their own destiny now......but Brewers have to win 3 to do it.....Cubs only need to win 2.
