  1. They said on Baseball Tonight that Fielder/Boros are looking for 8 years 200M. Should be interesting to see what he ends up getting after what I expect to be a very good season in 2011.
  2. He said in the press conference that he approached the team in spring training after talking to his family. He said the fans were the biggest reason he wanted to be here for his whole career because of the way they have treated him and how they support the team. He also mentioned how much he appreciates not getting rained out or having to play in the cold(the roof was a fantastic idea). Melvin and Mark A said they were surprised that he approached them about an extension with so much time left on his deal but that it was clear how much he lovecd being in Milwaukee. They said the negotiations were handled like a partnership and the goal was to lock up a key part of the team but still give them the flexibility to build a winning team around Ryan.
  3. Not close per Rosenthal http://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal

  5. Kind of unusal for starter to pitch out of the stretch with nobody on base. The thing that impressed me was Rodgers hit 98 with movement. Kintzler's FB was running in on the right handers and he threw some nice breaking balls as well.
  6. All I'm saying is as a fan I appreciate Corey Hart's attitude toward the Brewers more then I do Fielder's. Prince obviously has the right to explore his options. CLUBHOUSE CONFIDENTIAL Now that it's apparent he won't be traded, rightfielder Corey Hart said at some point he hopes the Brewers approach his agent, Jeff Berry, with an offer for a multi-year extension. "They know where I stand," said Hart. "They know I want to stay here and sign for more than one year." Hart, who beat the Brewers in arbitration for a $4.8 million salary in February, is a free agent after the 2011 season.
  7. I think all this means is that Melvin will deal Fielder and/or Hart in the off season instead of at the deadline. He has no choice but to make a trade to improve the pitching staff before next season.
  8. I think its pretty reasonable for fans to appreciate the players who can leave but don't more then those who view the game as "just a business". Clearly Prince has every right to take his services to the highest bidder. I just find it sad that he has apparently no feeling for a city or a fan base that has been his home for his entire professional life. I have heard Hank Aaron talk about his love for Milwaukee and its fans. It was heartfelt and real. To each his own. I don't wish him any ill will but as a fan he will never be one of my all time favorite Brewers........not that he cares.....
  9. The fans and the organization have treated Prince pretty well. Show me the money http://msn.foxsports.com/...and-willing-to-be-traded
  10. More money then that will be coming off. Davis, Hart(likely traded), and Riske can be added to your list. I see a bullpen filled with low priced arms outside of Hawkins.
  11. most runs in an inning for the pirates in 20 years......lol Way to go Dave!
  12. I think we just found out that our bad pitching is much worse then the Giants poor offense. Wow................
  13. Looks like we are getting unlucky again tonight................ It looks an awful lot like bad baseball to me. 3 HR's allowed in the first. A foul ball that Casey lets drop, error by Narveson and not taking advantage of numerous baserunners in the first 4 innings. 7-1..........This team stinks.
  14. Its almost like Macha is just winging it. Why have Axford warm up in the 7th and then use him for a 2 inning save? It sure looks like Macha was ready to give Hoffman the 9th inning again and then chickened out when Coffey got banged around. My question would be....What had Axford done to lose the job?
  15. Mcgehee just cost Manny a run with that whiff. Our defense has got to at least make the routine plays. How they didn't call it an error is amazing. I guess if you have to move your feet you can't be expected to make the play?
  16. Kottoras's defense is really bad. Hitting a cool .200 now........has done a nice job of walking but he doesn't look like a long term answer behind the plate.
  17. I've noticed we seem to have better luck when Gallardo pitches......................... After watching this team play for 1/3 of the season games like last night seem to be the lucky ones......... Tonight 8 runs allowed by our #2 starter ......3 hits and 3 runs(2 driven in by said pitcher) by our anemic offense..... Just another bad game in a long line of bad games.
  18. Wolf having real bad luck again tonight. Those 5 bombs he gave up could have been caught if we were playing in the Grand Canyon........
  19. yep.....interesting tweet on Salome playing right field..........
  20. I wonder what the scouting reports were on Pujols when he was drafted in the 13th round? I doubt any of them said "has the potenial to develope into the best hitter of his generation"....... Honestly....if the brewers really think Nelson's upside is Jeff Suppan why would they take him in the 2nd round? High draft choices are for kids that have the chance to be difference makers not back of the rotation inning eaters.....you can get those guys later.
  21. I'm sure he approved of the Suppan deal but I'm sure Melvin made the initial call on going after him. I think the only thing we can say with a reasonable amount of confidence is that MA made the call to fire Yost. Everything else is just conjecture.
  22. Great Seinfeld reference by FIB! I'd check out that title before I bought the car just to be safe................
  23. Suppan is bad but he has plenty of company. This staff has just zapped all of the fun out of watching Brewer baseball in 2010. 2009 wasn't fun either now that I think about it.
