  1. Almost the only reason this makes sense for the Astros this year and in the future is if they think Reineke is nothing and/or that they might get a pick for Wolf in the offseason. Otherwise, they're sort of chasing their own tail.
  2. Much like this franchise, he's due? He has great stuff, he just gets pounded relentlessly. I don't get it, but I'm tired of it already.
  3. if its at a time of the day where there is ZERO traffic, i dont use signals. and trust me, i know when there are other drivers on the road. You are human, therefore you are fallible. Therefore, you should use your turn signal.
  4. This would be somewhat similar to the Brewers trading Taylor Green for Jon Rauch.
  5. Mota's residency of suck continues.
  6. I would like to have gotten Rauch, but what the Nats get for him should provide a decent barometer of what it would take to get Street or some of the other relievers who are signed beyond this year.
  7. -Roundabouts are awesome, but like 50% of people have no idea how to use them properly. -People who don't use their turn signals. It takes so little effort, and they should always be used, even if you think it doesn't matter. It might matter. And it's illegal not to use it in a lot of cases. Really... it's like an inch or two away. No reason not to. -Just because you are lost, it does not give you the right to veer in and out of lanes.
  8. I would have been in favor of the Brewers getting Wolf because it would make sense to a team like the Brewers, whereas that team: a)is contending, b)could use the depth, and b)does not have Crawford boxes in their left field.
  9. The flip side to this is Chad Reineke has to be elated to get to pitch in Petco someday.
  10. The Astros have arguably the worst farm system in baseball, and they traded their 7th best prospect ("best" relatively speaking, of course), a pitching prospect no less, for 9.5 weeks of Randy Wolf? Don't they need more pitching for the future? Good move going forward for the Brewers, Cubs, Cardinals, Pirates and Reds.
  11. If the Brewers win tonight, they'll be one of only six teams in baseball with a .500 or better road record.
  12. Games of interest, centrally timed: 6:10 - Atlanta @ Florida - C. Morton (2-2, 5.93) vs. R. VandenHurk (0-1, 11.81) 6:10 - Philadelphia @ Mets - J. Blanton (5-12, 4.96) vs. J. Santana (8-7, 3.10) 8:40 - Cubs @ Arizona - J. Marquis (6-5, 4.44) vs. Y. Petit (0-1, 3.06)
  13. We've won 5 in a row. I just realized that.
  14. Matt Cline has been very impressive since joining the Power. He of no batting gloves is getting it done.

  16. Games of interest, centrally timed: 6:10 - Atlanta @ Florida (J. Campillo vs. C. Volstad) 8:40 - Cubs @ Arizona (R. Harden vs. R. Johnson)
  17. Ok, but if a pitcher is definitely better at home and only possibly worse on the road, why go through the hassle of the platoon in the first place? I think that's the stretch of logic by Yost that most of us are concerned about. It's just unnecessary. Keep Bush in the rotation, move McClung to the pen, boot Mota. That seems to make much more logical sense to me than having 6 dudes in the rotation and a struggling pitcher in the pen. Edit: The ultimate impact might be very little, assuming this little experiment doesn't last for more than a few weeks or maybe a month. The projected impact on the rotation will be almost non-existent, but it throws off the habitual patterns of Bush's and McClung's schedule, might put extra stress on the pen, and definitely does not help the pen.
  18. Brewers: 2B Weeks SS Hardy LF Braun 1B Fielder RF Hart 3B Branyan CF Cameron C Kendall P Parra Non-Brewers: 2B Burriss 3B Castillo RF Winn C Molina CF Rowand 1B Aurillia LF Velez SS Ochoa P Linecum
  19. Padres pitcher Cha Seung Baek homered off Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia to give the Padres a 3-1 lead in the top of the 5th. The Braves have given up 14 runs to the Nationals through 5 innings... yikes.
  20. A reminder: Please watch what you're quoting. Do not quote whole posts unless it is absolutely necessary. Thank you.
  21. TH updated his blog half an hour ago to indicate that Taschner is not in the deal.
  22. 17th rounder Damon Krestalude gets the starting nod for the AZL Brewers and looks to build on a successful start to his pro career. Shawn Zarraga with his second home run of the year in the early going in that one.
  23. I also think it's safe to assume that Brian Roberts is not on the Brewers' radar until after the season.
