  1. That was scored a base hit? That was a little league play. Good job Prince.
  2. Then you'd pretty much have to nickname the bullpen "His Lost Planet Airmen."
  3. I typed that while falling asleep watching Animal Planet. I woke up at the keyboard about an hour later. Hah.
  4. It's somewhat interesting that you were never mentioned by name in this thread, but felt the need to defend yourself.
  5. I didn't realize one could wax a lawn?
  6. I'd just like to add that if you wouldn't post it in the fan forum, you shouldn't post it in the chat room. Think before you comment.
  7. The most impressive thing about Escobar's season has been his slugging. I think the main question about Escobar's game coming into the year was that he was too light in the bat and wouldn't be able to hit the ball hard enough to stay in the lineup. With a career ISO (SLG-AVG) of 68 coming into the season there was certainly some credence to that notion. So far this year his ISO is 109 - anything above 90-100 in the Southern League for Alcides would go a long way towards proving he'll have power at the big league level, IMO.
  8. Chris Errecart has the quietest 924 OPS in the history of the Southern League.
  9. Dave Bush pitching after Ben Sheets against the Pirates is like watching a crocodile attack any catchable thing as opposed to a snake attacking a bird in the air.
  10. That was one of the most crisply played games all year. I'll take that as a good sign.
  11. My biggest problem with Brantley is now that he's not hitting in the middle .300's, he is only slugging .364 and he's only (well, "only") walked 20 times over 176 ABs so his OPS is dropping precipitously as his BA drops.
  12. brewerfan.com has become a fascinating search site. It is possibly the only site on the interwebs where you can one-click search for a Blower Fan.
  13. Salome certainly has the skills. I think if Callis would have been pressed further, he would have noted that Salome still needs some work. But he wasn't and it's nice to see Jim Callis typing nice things about our guys. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. Great outing from Jeffress, maybe the best of his career. I'm guessing he was pulled due to a pitch count. He's probably at about an 80-90 pitch limit, and 10 K's will drive up your pitch total even without a lot of walks and hits.
  15. Since when does Brad Nelson have 25 walks and 24 strikeouts? He's had a heckuva May in the plate discipline department... 18 walks and 10 Ks. That aspect of his game has flown under my radar until now.
  16. You start drafting a lot of college closers in hopes that they get to the bigs much sooner than later, and you're just asking for a wasted top of the draft. The Brewers will continue their philosophy of taking the best player available that they can sign. One of them might be a college closer.
  17. One is the opposite of the other.
  18. Which would make sense because that's not what I said.
  19. If... your post in this thread was deleted, it was because the discussion had devolved into a lot of name calling and other things that had nothing to do with the topic. If... you were involved in the discussion related to the deleted posts and bring any of that discussion back up in this thread, those posts to will be deleted and you'll be contacted by a moderator to discuss why you did that and the repercussions thereof. If... you wish to discuss name calling, kidding around vs questionable humor, or the ins and outs of condescension, please start a thread in the "Issues" forum. Thank you.
  20. I only knew the finals were now or soonish because American Idol encroaches onto the beginning of my DVR of Hell's Kitchen. Bunch of jerks. I'll go with... David. And I will guarantee I won't remember who won at this time next year. The only person I can recall who won it was Taylor Hicks... that's only because he's goofy looking. More power to you if you enjoy it. I would just assume not let the rest of America decide who I listen to. The kids have terrible taste.
  21. Sevendust and Filter are both still around and active? Good for them. I'll second the Rodrigo Y Gabriela recommendation... they are phenomenal guitarists. And definitely check out Alejandro Escovedo.
  22. Pena has been fine in Nashville. He had one bad outing that skewed all his stats. He's still the same pitcher that's towards the top of the prospect lists.
  23. Pena and Aguilar both throw in the middle to upper 90's with good sliders. Like I said, about equal stuff.
  24. I've seen much worse center fielders than Gabe Gross. Brantley is in fact probably around Gross' talent level in CF.
