Wouldn’t Jorge Mateo be a better option than Jihwan Bae at this point?

Would it be a good time to bring Adams up for a week and insert him at 3B? Ortiz and Hamilton could platoon at SS until Pratt is ready to come back. I know starting Adams MLB clock and having to place him on the 40 man roster may be an unpleasant idea. But, I'd like to see him for a week or so. He would be theoretically batting in the 8th spot which would be nice to have some power there. Just a thought I've been having.

I've been saying for a while now that 2028 could be the sweet spot for the Brewers. They have so much controllable starting pitching that will all be around their arbitration years. Miz, Harrison, Henderson, Drohan, Sproat, Gasser, Patrick, Preister, Crow makes nine who already have MLB experience. It also leaves room for injuries to the group. Not to mention getting another quality starter from Boston this offseason (wink ;) ). Even with a modest progression, they could be one of the finest rotations in baseball. Add to that the offense that is rising through the minors. Catcher seems to be a question mark going forward. Does Contreras get dealt this offseason? Or do they hold onto him and recoup a draft pick when he leaves in free agency? Possibly, everything changes with the new CBA. Is there a world where revenue sharing is split more evenly between the teams so small market teams can now compete for the better free agents. Time will only tell. I like the addition of Naylor. He's a left-handed bat which will compliment whoever else the Brewers move forward with. If the Brewers keep him in the minor for the rest of the season, Naylor will not start his arbitration years this offseason. I envision at trio of Adams, Fischer, and Burke being much like Vaughn, Bauers, and Yelich with two of them getting starts at 1B and DH each game. Although, Yelich will still be with the team due to the contract in 2028. The new trio also have the ability for a couple of them to also get starts at 3B. Middle infielders of Turang, Pratt, and Made will be awesome. I'm foreseeing Made getting the bulk of his starts at 3B. The outfield will have Chourio entrenched in it along with Lara at worst the 4th OF. How long will they hold on to Mitchell and Frelick as Adamczewski, Payne, and Strosnider work their way to the team. I'm excited for the future of this team while currently watching arguably one of the best Brewer teams of all time. It's a great time to be a Brewers fan.

I think these are the same people that said the trade that included Yophery Rodriguez was also the worst thing ever.

This is going to be an odd question and probably will not be received very well... Is there a bullpen arm out there that the Brewers can get for Tyler Black and Carlos Rodriguez? Just thinking it would be nice to get rid of some dead weight on the 40 man roster and get a rental for the bullpen. Possibly someone like Kirby Yates. I'm not really sure who else is out there. But, I would have to think the controlable years for those two players has to be worth a bullpen arm on an expiring contract to a team that has zero chance of making the playoffs.

How about getting both Miller and Morejohn from the Padres... One of Drohan, Sproat, Gasser, Crow, Hardin One of the outfielders. Payne, Frias, Adamczewski Yoho Lower ranked P but still in top 30... ie Dorchies, Knoth, etc. Another top 30 prospect. Then I'd like to talk to the the Twins about Tait. A left handed hitting catcher who could be expendable after the Twins draft. Pena for Tait. Not sure straight up would be doable, but some other minor pieces being added both ways could get it done.

Above is a post regarding the catching depth. I was thinking Tait from the Twins would be a good player to go out and get. The Twins just drafted two catchers at the top of their draft. Pena and Tait are both in relative similar place in the top 100 rankings. The Brewers could trade from their depth at SS for the Twins depth at C.

I've been hoping for them to have enough confidence in Lara in the leadoff position. I think they are getting there and moving Yelich down in the order like the suggested lineup shown. I'm on board.

Yeah yuck. Only if they get a third team involved that would take him. Maybe the Braves. That would be an interesting scenario.

Still will need to open up a couple spots on the 40 man. Why not send back some dead weight that will be DFA'd anyways in the deal.

I saw a trade proposal for Mason Miller: Jett Williams Logan Henderson Andrew Fischer I'm guessing most would feel that including Fischer is where they draw the line. IMO, the only way the Brewers are going to get a premier player is to trade either Fischer or Pena. Miller would be at the top of my list of players to get. He's the best reliever in the game and has 3 more years of control. As in anyting, it's best to sell high. Pena and Fischer (especially Fischer) would be the poster child for selling high on a player. I wouldn't want to have Henderson be a part of that deal as he should be an important part of the rotation going forward. I'd hope a package of more prospects would entice them to make the move.

I think when Jett finally comes up to play 3rd, Hamilton and Ortiz can simply be a platoon at SS.

I find it hard to believe that it will be Patrick starting Wednesday on 3 days rest. It would be a normal rest for Crow and they skipped Gassers start. Will it be one of them? Thoughts?

I saw SI had a proposed trade that would bring in 3B Alec Bohm for SP Logan Henderson and SS Cooper Pratt. Yuck.

I have a feeling that Leonard will get the nod to start the season as the starting 3B. It will come down to how all the possible options perform during spring training. Leonard could hold the spot until one of the prospects (Wilkins, Adams, Pratt, Williams...) show they are ready at AAA. Much like what they did with Durbin last year. There wouldn't be a huge loss if Leonard doesn't do well like Capra and they have to DFA him. The interesting part will be how they divide up the reps at 3B at AAA giving those players a good look at the position. With the pending 2027 season (lockout), I can't see the Brewers bringing up Made or Fischer in 2026. Not knowing how 2027 pans out, I wouldn't want to waste a year of service for those two if only 40 games are played. No sense in starting the clock on them. Plus, who knows how the CBA will shake out regarding how long teams have control of players. Too big of an unknown.

How does one qualify for a fourth option?

I’m not sure how the pending possibility of a lockout will affect things next offseason. Will free agent signing and trades come to a complete halt? For instance, why would you sign anyone to a one year deal if the season will be minimal. it may be difficult to trade Contreras next offseason. Who’s going to give up controllable prospects for a let’s say 50 game season? im also thinking this is another reason to have traded Peralta now. Free agency could be minimal. Under the terms of the CBA, the Brewers may not even been eligible to recoupe the draft pick. just too many unknowns in 2027.

I'm getting the feeling that if Peralta is traded to the Mets, Baty will be part of the trade. Really hoping he isn't the main piece.

I agree with the others saying the Brewers cannot afford paying a pitcher $30M per year. Now if it were 3yrs / 90M instead of 5yrs / 150M, then possibly I could see that. Especially if the 90M included reachable insentives to get it to 90M. That would ensure he’s healthy for the 3yrs. Regardless if I’m Peralta, I would want to cash in long term with the next contract. The Brewers aren’t the ones who are going to be able to do that. Or shouldn’t. Now what’s more valuable? One year of him at 8M plus a compensation pick. Or, what you could get trading him now. Personally, I would hold out with the Mets until I could get Benge and another piece or two.

Intriguing. But I’m not so sure the Brewers would get the draft pick compensation for Jazz leaving in free agency. Would they want to put the qualifying offer on him. Especially heading into a year where there might be a lock out. Not sure how free agency is going to work with that looming. Is it going to make it better or worse for adding payroll with that possibility coming. and if they are sending a Wilkins and Payne, I would hope there would also be some money coming the Brewers way.

I’ve had this thought for quite some time. Brewers receive: Ryan & Buxton Twins receive: 1. Pena (or Pratt) 2&3: Any two P not named Peralta, Woodruff, Miz, Preister, or Uribe. 4: OF not named Frelick or Chourio. 5: Mears

I’d like to think Adams or Wilkins would be on the roster by then.

That's why it's a wish list 😊 If you can't get someone of that caliber, my view is you keep the player.

On my wish list from the Mets would be Carson Benge.

I agree. I also see this as a win-win situation. The QO is a big number, but not big enough for a one year commitment.
