  1. This is the nightmarish scenario for this type of offense when extra base hits aren't plentiful. Not being able to get hits, let alone extra base hits, that drive in more than one run can become a killer, especially when rallies aren't plentiful in the playoffs. Then the adage–"a home run is a one-man rally"–comes is emphasized; even more so when giving up home runs to the opponent. Getting a bit of a foretaste of this against better teams in September (Rangers, Cardinals, Padres) hasn't sparked optimism for the playoffs despite such a great regular season. Couple that with the injuries to key players and there is a bit of a 2021 vibe. Perhaps all of that is a bit of an unfounded Brewers fan playoffs pessimism, but it does seem to be part of the team's past record of performance.
  2. ABS Challenge System coming in 2026: https://www.mlb.com/news/abs-challenge-system-mlb-2026
  3. Tampa Bay Rays getting some new owners. Some new ballpark discussion in the article also. https://ballparkdigest.com/2025/09/23/tampa-bay-rays-sale-approved-next-up-new-ballpark/
  4. Division winners with 6 games left to play. Didn’t expect that in March. Would like to see the team kick it into gear for this last week. Don’t want any feeling of limping into the playoff like in 2021, when they won 95 games.
  5. Arizona holds on to defeat Philadelphia: 4-3.
  6. Guess it was. Feels like they stole a win tonight, though there were plenty of hard outs.
  7. Another Brewers shortstop, this one with a mustache:
  8. Just as long as they don’t lose a playoff series to one of those rivals, we can live with that irony or annoyance.
  9. Third time through the order against Mikolas. Time for the bats to awaken for a big inning.
  10. Looks like the white flag is flying with Jansen and Monasterio replacing Contreras and Turang. Reset for tomorrow.
  11. A couple Brewers shortstops:
  12. The Frelick and Turang increase in power hitting has been a big boost to the offense this year.
  13. Good inning with a cluster of runs to take the lead late in the game. Seems like the pattern of a good number of wins this season. Just need the shutdown relievers to hold the lead.
  14. Some good plate appearances in the 8th so far. Hang a big crooked number on the scoreboard and let Patrick finish it.
