  1. Braves rally in the 9th inning for a 3-1 win over the Phillies. So not a totally bad day after a loss.
  2. Need to capitalize with how the 5th inning has started. Should be a big inning, but have to get the clutch hit.
  3. Woodruff's last few starts against good-to-great teams haven't been excellent: 8/19 at CHC: 4.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 6 K 8/25 vs ARZ: 5.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 8 K 8/31 at TOR: 4.1 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K Will be interesting to see if Woodruff would be a starting pitcher in a 5 game playoff series. But that's a question for a different day.
  4. Ball seems to be traveling well in Toronto today. Hard contact against Scherzer wasn't exactly the expectation going into the game, but there's been a good bit of it.
  5. Seeing some Octoberesque baseball on display in these last few weeks. Winning at least two on the road versus the AL East leaders is a solid marker being placed on the playoff table before taking on the NL East leaders.
  6. That’s some tidy relief work by Koenig. Time for a cluster of runs from the offense.
  7. Strong pitching by Priester to limit the inning to one run after the defensive miscues. Always need at least one run to win a game. Offense needs to pick up a few in the late innings.
  8. Good win tonight to start the weekend. A couple scoring innings converted. Saw the typical offense for this season. Got a great start from Peralta.
  9. Thanks, San Francisco Giants! Makes dropping the last two games to Arizona a little more palatable. But also can rue losing a chance to put the division nearly to bed.
  10. No late game magic. Feels like the team is driving with a flat tire. Still a division lead, but not great vibes lately. Guess we can hope for a Cubs loss yet today.
