  1. Don’t like Payamps in the higher leverage situations this season so far.
  2. Definitely need the bullpen warming up. Might try to push a little luck against the bottom of the Cubs order. But need to have a reliever ready to go.
  3. Some good opposite field hitting on display. Needed one more big hit with runners on to create the big innings. Making Steele work a bit.
  4. Grand slam for the rookie! Chourio is starting to make himself at home in the bigs.
  5. UCL trauma Matt Arnold cash transaction Dallas Keuchel starts
  6. Buying as much duct tape and baling wire as possible to try to keep a starting rotation together. Not an enviable position for Arnold to be in at this point in the season. But it’s worth a shot to see if Keuchel can eat any sort of innings and keep the team in games. Throw that spaghetti at the wall!
  7. Excellent start from Gasser with 6+ scoreless innings. Hudson locks down the opposition in relief for the 7th and 8th innings. Offense shows up with a 5 spot in the 8th inning. Able to use Milner to finish off the 9th inning. Nearly a perfect start to a four game series against the division rivals. Sweet to win the first games in Chicago and Milwaukee versus Counsell’s team.
  8. Seems like too much failure to put batters away with two strikes tonight from Peralta, even with the 6 strikeouts.
  9. Held on to win. Some tack-on runs would’ve made for a less stressful end of game. But a win is a win. Good job by the pitching staff tonight to hold the lead.
  10. Now we know it’s mid-April with this post. Thanks again, LouisEly!
  11. Sounds like some good swings being put on the ball by the Brewers so far. Continuing the trend from last night. Might need to win a slugfest.
  12. Rhys Hoskins with another response to the boos. Two more RBIs with a 2-run homer.
  13. Crooked number to start the game. Hoskins knocking in two after showers of Mets fans booing. Just what you want for the youngster starter.
  14. That’s the norm. It stays with the “official” postgame wrap up. Then drops off. I usually end up switching to the streaming of the other postgame shows on other Milwaukee station sites (like 97.3 The Game). You should also be able to stream WTMJ after the Brewers radio network programming ends.
  15. Extra innings loss for the Cubs. Fly the L on Opening Day.
  16. MLB At Bat gives you that. It’s now $29.99/year to subscribe. You get the radio calls from each team. (Have subscribed since it became available, which has to be at least 15 seasons ago, maybe closer to 20.) https://www.mlb.com/live-stream-games/subscribe# The stream is always a little behind those who get TV coverage by cable or over the air, so if you follow in-game threads while listening, you may notice that when people post reactions. Same if you follow the MLB game tracker online.
  17. Assuming he's healthy enough to play 100+ games at 3B, I'd like to see the Brewers pursue Gio Urshela. Brings a bat that can help lengthen the lineup (#6/#7 type hitter). Would provide a backup plan in case Black can't quite handle 3B or if Adames is traded and Ortiz becomes the starting SS. A multi-season deal could also let him serve as a bridge to Wilken as the future 3B.
  18. Trading Burnes makes sense. Orioles were a good trade partner. Think the return seems a tad light; probably should have had one more Top 20 prospect (15-20) coming back. But getting two major league ready players back indicates more retool than rebuild, which is probably just about right for where the team is now. Should definitely add at least one more starting pitcher for 2024. Will be interesting to see if there is another trade in the works involving Adames, any future free agent signings, or a combination of both over the next two to three weeks.
  19. True. Favre had a couple initial playoff seasons end in Divisional Round losses at Dallas before he and the team cleared that hurdle. Ended up ok for him; may very well do so for Love. If the flavor of playoff success followed by the nasty aftertaste of losing a game late makes him and the team hungry, the Packers should be in a good position going forward.
  20. Missed opportunities. Missed opportunities. Missed opportunities. This will be remembered as a “woulda, coulda, shoulda” loss. Team grew up this season. Future looks good. But this could have been a magical playoff run out of somewhat nowhere.
  21. And there’s the Favreesque interception.
  22. Well, that sucked. Still have three timeouts and getting the ball. Could use another big kickoff return.
  23. Guess the defense will have to win it. So many points left on the field tonight. Need a Purdy mistake.
