  1. Last interception might look worse than it was. Bad play result, obviously. But some more experience between Love and Doubs should lead to understanding what each was going to do. Love missed reading a late deep route play in Atlanta also. Both could’ve been touchdowns had the QB and WR been in sync and had that one extra beat in the pocket. Should come with some more game experience..
  2. Oxymoronic penalty. Unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on a demonstration of athletic skill, which didn’t offend anyone’s sensibilities, deliberately injure a player, or taunt an opponent. The NFL can make such a play illegal—which I disagree with—but at least call the penalty something else.
  3. Don’t Panic, We’ve Got Leskanic! Needed to hear that the last few days.
  4. It’s over. Division title has been secured.
  5. Good report, Jimbo. Sounds like you had a good trip. It's worth the trek to see the Baseball Hall of Fame. I would endorse late summer and fall as an excellent time of year to visit Cooperstown and/or other parts of the region out here in the Mid-Atlantic.
  6. Vikings also just Vikinged away a chance to win their game.
  7. Probably shouldn’t have won today. But cancels out choking away last week’s game in Atlanta. Might also be a bit of a team builder result.
  8. Fair point there. Either get the miracle comeback win today to finish the job or win it outright on Tuesday.
  9. Going to need a turnover. Not expecting that, though.
  10. Cubs take the lead in the 6th at Wrigley. Might not end up getting the back-in clinch today.
  11. I’d generally agree. But I’m thinking that LaFleur’s guess is that the Saints’ lack of offense with the backup QB might even lead to two more empty possessions. Score field goals after each, and the game is tied. Quite the gamble, though.
  12. Base-Hit Freddy showed up today. Get these lousy starts from the Top 3 pitchers out of the system now.
  13. That loss was a bit disappointing, though hardly crushing. Wished to have seen better from our #1/#2 starter, but Woodruff was apt to have a non-dominant start at some time before the season ended. Having a big comeback to tie is excellent, yet it feels unfulfilled when the game is ultimately lost. Seeing one of the top bullpen arms be a bit wild and give up a run with a wild pitch isn't great. But with all that said, the Brewers are dormie for the division title. It's nicer to clinch that at the earliest opportunity, showing the killer instinct. Not getting it done today isn't terrible, but it would be best to wrap it up on Sunday and have the "happy flight" back to Milwaukee.
  14. Got Luzardo out. Opportunity for an extended rally to turn the game around.
  15. Looks like it’s not Woody’s day today. Bound to happen at some point. Just get the clunker start out of the way now before October.
  16. Postseason baseball for the Brewers. Feels like it’s expected lately. Just a totally different vibe from past decades of fandom. This is basically a golden era. Now it’s time to cash in one of these coupons. Forget a bite at the apple; eat the whole blooming thing.
  17. It's a good looking promotion announcement:
  18. Can’t believe that double play to end the game. Just shrug at that, I guess. But this type of offensive performance is what we can potentially dread seeing show up in a playoff series. As noted above, there is that concern over lack of run scoring with this lineup.
  19. Washington gets it done with their 11th Inning Manfred Man. Going to take two runs to win.
  20. Ugh. Two chances with RISP go begging in the 9th.
  21. Had one missed route by Love (Doubs running free deep right) and klutzy running by Dillon unable to pick up a first down. Either of those are converted, and it might be a win. Defense still had to be able to make a stop without giving up points or take another of the turnovers that Ridder was offering them earlier in the game. Didn’t do so, and it’s a 1-1 record instead of a 2-0 start. That’s the fine difference between wins and losses, which might be magnified more this season with Love at QB.
  22. The Defensive Coordinator hire has to be the most glaring aspect of LaFleur’s tenure so far. That’s of matters directly controlled by him. Been an issue that even the “non-experts” have been able to see and comment on. (Hardly just armchair quarterbacking or barstool griping.)
