  1. Shaw’s bat may be struggling, but his glove is still major league caliber.
  2. Home run for Urias on his birthday. Not a bad way to mark the day. 7th homer of the year for Urias so far, which projects to a 20 home run season. Great for a middle infielder; not bad for a 3rd baseman.
  3. Vogelbach with the slide to get an out at first. Needs to hone that skill when sliding into home to score a run.
  4. Game is being postponed due to inclement weather out here in the Mid-Atlantic Region, including DC. Thunderstorms and steady rain arriving in late afternoon and early evening. So a Saturday doubleheader goes on the schedule for tomorrow.
  5. Agreed. If that develops into production on the field for Adames, it could be a long-term solution to the shortstop position. Even better would be if Urias' hit tool also turns from potential into production. Then you've got a solid 2B/SS combo for after Wong's departure.
  6. Whether the Brewers were cheating or not may be in dispute, but more allegations about sign-stealing in the same seasons (2018) by other National League teams (Rockies and, possibly, Dodgers) have been made by old friend Erik Kratz: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/05/erik-kratz-makes-sign-stealing-allegations.html If the Brewers were also doing so at the same time, it might be a bit of an awkward situation.
  7. Can’t disagree much with that. Some of this looks like more than just a rough patch. We’re 25% of the season in now. I’d almost rather see them cut a couple of the AAAA players and call up anyone else who might want a chance to play in the majors. Hiura’s demotion was called for. But other than that, poor play doesn’t seem to have any consequences.
  8. If the plate is where his hand first hits the ground he's safe. If it's not, he's out. I didn't see any angle where you could tell. That’s the fatal flaw in the replay system regardless of the issues with the reviewers in New York City. Amazing how well the NFL can get angles of plays from cameras, even though that leagues misses some plays. MLB is miles behind on that.
