  1. If Shaw has options, it's an easy switch. Send him down and have Hiura up soon when he can be recalled and is out of Super 2 range.
  2. While we're at it, let's trade for Pujols, Molina, and LaRussa and get it over with....
  3. Since this trade for Bumgarner topic will be with us until July 31, how about a different title for this?
  4. No Burnes for Bum..... yet, I would consider other options for a playoff tested arm and mind like Bums.
  5. Playing to win is different when the game matters. Bunting a guy over, getting a decent secondary lead, stretching a double into a triple, not trying for the Jack when contact will get the go ahead run in in the late innings, just running out a grounder.... if the game doesn't matter, the effort and team care level in these situations goes down naturally and hero ball is more apparent.
  6. So it is fun fo watch.... NBA and NFL are ridiculous. Just try. Hustle.
  7. Yelich is a starter, and I can see four more Brewers in. I miss the World Series home field attachment that the All Star Game brought. Without it, it is more like Pre-season football, Spring training baseball, and the NBA regular season. Very little meaning or importance attached to winning the game. Before it, I remember more and more guys leaving the dugout early to go home. Expect the same.
  8. An extension still sounds good to me, especially with Shaw and Aguilar struggling... Then again, if we had a choice of Moose or Grandal, I'd take Grandal with Hiura hopefully picking up Moose's slack if he leaves.
  9. I'm hoping that Jimmy doesn't throw out his shoulder due to his excitement. He's going to need to temper his emotion and not overthrow on every fastball.
  10. The Streak is on the line tonight. I have been to 9 straight wins, going back to last June: 5 straight (June-Sept. 2018) 1 in Oct (NLDS Game 2 2018) 3 this year (April-May 2019)
  11. Tom gets a lot of quality Brewers info out too.... still a mistake by someone at the MJS, though.
  12. He completely deserves it but other than batting 1b 8th, what do you do? I can't see his hitting type batting 1st (yet) despite the fact that he's been on at the rate you'd like to see. After that, its hard to move him up in a lineup that can go, Yelich Hiura Moose Braun Grandal. Thames as an 850 OPS shouldn't bat below him. Aguilar is another story. I can't see Cain jumping out of the 1 spot yet. On the season wide look, Hiura and Arcia are only .018 OBP higher. Cain's been rough this year but I don't think its time yet. Arcia isn't an 8 hitter but this lineup is loaded. What's exciting is if he can keep around 340-345 OBP there's a future where Arcia Yelich Hiura are hitting 1-2-3 if Cain's defense needs to be hidden further down the order. Arcia Yelich Hiura Moose Grandal Shaw Cain Gamel would be fun in 2021 and 2022. Arcia batting top 3?
  13. Thames, Aguilar, Shaw, Braun... we have 1B covered with big league sluggers, albeit with many struggling at this moment.
  14. Miley was a free agent.... perhaps he simply wanted to be at a few other places.
  15. I feel like just about the time we start talking about sitting guys or moving them down in the order they start hitting. So time to buy low on Cain in daily fantasy leagues I guess Agree. I love Cain. Wish we had him for an entire career. Hope he gets going and last nights game was a good sign to see. Odds are, based on his age, he will get worse each year while Hiura gets better each year. At some point, Hiura bats 1 or 2 and Cain hits 6 or 7. My guess is it will happen in 2021.
  16. And it wasn't the winning play that he botched.... he makes the play, they go extras. And it was Game 6, not Game 7.... Almost as bad as how Cubs fans treated Bartman, whose play on a ball was not even ruled interference because it was in the stands...
  17. Easy read as a player. Catch, your u go back and tag. Drops or off the wall, you score. Go about a quarter of the way to third and simply watch the play.
  18. Crazy challenge.... that was all about not showing up Braun. Braun was ticked last week when he was thrown out at third and the play wasn't (at least) challenged. This is make up for that imho.
  19. Any rainout there should result in a win to the visiting team. They had a dome and a huge home field advantage, but piddled that away with a new meh stadium in the elements when their NFL team has a retractable dome.
  20. Moose has a shot at being an All Star this season.... probably not, but it wouldn't be a surprise especially if he continues the power in the next few weeks.
  21. You're right. I never, ever understood the hate he got here. He's a fun, exciting player who is playing a game for a living. God forbid yu show excitement and flare while you're doing it. 2nd Worse Baseruner in team history.... Villar 1st. He did play hard and interacted well with the fans. He had so much fun playing, and his energy was contagious.
  22. I think we have very "nice things" compared to 20 or 30 years ago when the Brewers and Bucks, along with the Badgers in the 80's, were awful. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. We have had hopes with championships (Division/Conference/Conference Tournament), along with epic wins (Packers Super Bowl/Rose Bowl/NLDS Game 5, Final Fours) in many of our sports, just few ultimate last wins. This title should be titled "Disappointment" since so many of our teams had legit shots at a title game or title game win and just came up short.
  23. Maybe in 2021... He's cheap for two more years.
  24. Idk man. One team gets out and we were 1/2. They went down 0-1 to a good a Boston team and crushed them. I think that was a big stage. This does suck. But it really feels like a growing pain. That I got to see it coming alowly over a week gives a bit more perspective on the big picture. I can't think of a team that's gone from can't win a series to in the Finals. Trouble is, like about the whole team is FA... crazy differentvteam potentially next year.
