  1. I think FTC is being too pessimistic. Yes inflation is causing things to increase in price but wages are up. Granted, not as much as inflation but still up pretty good. I will only start to get concerned when I start to see businesses take down their Now Hiring signs. Right now they are everywhere.
  2. So in a bear market. For long term investors like me, I am not concerned. Good news on the economy: Lots of jobs, consumers still spending Bad news: Inflation, gas prices It will be interesting to see how the market goes for the rest of the year and what rate increases they go with.
  3. The right social media post finally got a ton of applications so we should be good now. Hooray!
  4. Not a super new show but The Righteous Gemstones is hilarious.
  5. Might have to see this dude when he hits Appleton for a few months.
  6. Despite what he says publicly, it is my opinion his confidence is shaken a bit. I would play him against lefties to get that confidence back and then sprinkle him in against righties once he gets it going. It has to be a major adjustment to have that long of an 0fer.
  7. I have no doubt Cutch can still mash against lefties.
  8. The same Gallo that is 28 and at least has a chance to turn it around versus an obvious washed up Cain. Gallo is struggling and still out OPSing Cain by over 150 points. If the Yankees offer that trade, you take it and run.
  9. Cain needs to make that play if he isn't going to hit. I don't see a lot of reasons to keep him around right now other than half the team is hurt.
  10. Willy has been missed on defense a lot. Urias is a better 3b/2b
  11. CB is getting a lot of help from the umpire tonight.
  12. This place really needs the probationary period for new posters back.....
  13. Interesting that the author compared Wiemer to Hunter Pence. I think that would be a pretty good comparable. Pence mostly hovered around an .800 OPS which would not be bad for an everyday RF. I think Wiemer has the potential to be a better defender however.
  14. Am I crazy for wanting to see what a lineup like this would do for a couple of weeks when healthy? Against RHP 1. Wong- 2B 2. Adames- SS 3. Urias- 3B 4. Tellez- 1B 5. Hiura- DH 6. Yelich- LF 7. Renfroe- RF 8. Narvaez- C 9. Taylor- CF Against LHP 1. McCutchen- DH 2. Adames- SS 3. Urias- 3B 4. Renfroe- RF 5. Taylor- CF 6. Yelich- LF 7. Tellez- 1B 8. Brosseau- 2B 9. Caratini- C
  15. I hear people complain about gas prices constantly. Roads are packed and people are still gunning it at every stop sign so they can't be that bad.
  16. Amazing that 50 year old Pujols can make contact with Hader's high fastball.
  17. When an ump misses ball four, I swear hitters strike out at least 75% of the time swinging at everything.
  18. Yes I think we should be optimistic on Kelly being at least a good piece in the bullpen. I am hopeful he will get promoted to AA by midseason as he isn't that young for his league. It is wild that a system that has had very little history of good left handed pitching is starting to churn them out now.
  19. Just think if we would have signed Castellanos!
  20. Stearns has said multiple times that the team wants continued success and wants to acquire young controllable talent. There is no "Win Now" mode anymore. The boom and bust years of Doug Melvin are gone. The only way the Brewers keep Hader is if the trade offers are weak. I would hope for a top 100 prospect and another good player for Josh after the season.
  21. The difference between Mccutchen and Hader is Mccutchen was signed as a free agent. I also suspect that Mark A had a hand in bringing him in but I could be wrong there. Hader should still bring a nice return and we have his replacement on the roster right now. I would rather the resources be used to keep Woodruff, Burnes and Adames as long as possible.
  22. Wait you guys think we are just going to let Hader walk? That would be shocking to me as we seem to follow the Rays model of team building. Also, Hader will likely make $18-20 million next year. I highly doubt we use that much of our payroll on a guy that pitches so few innings, I don't care how good he is.
