  1. They probably don't see him as a fringe option just like Miley didn't end that way somehow.
  2. I'd love to see the studies that support your opinion on that.
  3. I have a friend in the hotel industry. You would be shocked at how low occupancy rates would have to be for a hotel to not make money.
  4. Although I am not in the public sector anymore (Act 10), public sector employees took better benefits instead of pay increases like the private sector was getting for years. I am surprised this isn't more common knowledge as I have to tell people time and time again.
  5. The hotel would be sold out 81 times a year without much of a doubt. When you average what the Brewers do for attendance, you really think they couldn't sell out a couple hundred rooms for a game? I think this would be a good idea and could have been done when the payroll was low by Mark.
  6. If Ray was all it took for a major piece, Merrifield would have been traded to us already.
  7. Oh yeah, from who? Dumped on may not be the right terminology, but considering all the threads talking about upgrading from a league average backstop with plus defense... Manny is a good starting catcher but would be great in a backup/shared role. I don't think anyone is saying he shouldn't be on the team.
  8. So Woodruff has tremendous value around MLB now because of 42 innings in 2018? I highly doubt GM's work that way. Those 42 innings. His previous 2+ years of excellent results in milb. Throwing a 97-99 mph fastball with improving offspeed offerings. Solid command of all 3 pitches. The list goes on... What stats will Woodruff put up next season? You are obviously very high on him.
  9. So Woodruff has tremendous value around MLB now because of 42 innings in 2018? I highly doubt GM's work that way.
  10. Why would I do that? I never suggested trading Hiura in the first place.
  11. The Marlins are not ready to compete so you could make the argument that someone in AA has more value than someone that needs to be in the majors now. Does anyone really think Woodruff would get a top 25 and a top 75 prospect right now?
  12. Who is the second MLB ready Starting Pitcher? Woodruff has only succeeded out of the bullpen.
  13. Woodruff has more or equal value than Brinson and Ortiz when they were traded? We are talking about the same 26 year old pitcher that struggled starting and had a good 42 innings this past season? Brinson was the #21 rated prospect in MLB when he was traded. Ortiz was #63 in MLB when he was traded. Woodruff was as high as #80.
  14. I haven't seen anyone throw that specifically out. But, well, that package is better than what we got for Lucroy + JJ in my opinion. Post #599.
  15. Peralta/Woodruff, Nottingham, Davies or Anderson or Thames or Santana?? Come on now.... this should be in blue. This reminds me of George Constanza from Seinfeld “I think I may have found a way for us to get Bonds and Griffey, and we wouldn’t have to give up that much.”
  16. Probably has something to do with the -34 run differential last year.
  17. So Peralta isn't a finished product at age 22, therefore he has warts? And that version of Woodruff we saw from August-October would have had success either starting or relieving. If he carries that into 2019, he'll be a very good starter. And generally speaking, there are maybe 5 prospects in baseball that don't have warts. Eloy Jimenez and Kyle Tucker are poor outfield defenders. Jesus Luzardo has command issues. Jo Adell strikes out too much. Mackenzie Gore's 3rd and 4th pitches aren't MLB caliber offerings yet. Should their respective organizations jump to trade them because they have warts? It honestly baffles me that so many people are so quick to want to trade these arms we've acquired...and don't remember how dire our minor league pitching situation has been year after year after year up until 2-3 years ago...when Hader/Burnes/Woodruff showed up. We finally start developing arms and everyone wants to quick trade them. It makes no sense. Realmuto is an excellent player at a position where there aren't many available. He is going to command a lot of assets in a trade. The four guys I proposed all had good years last year and have value. I feel it would be a good time to sell high on them just like we did last year for Yelich. I have a lot of faith in Burnes and Brown to be impact pitchers in the near future. It baffles me that posters don't realize that you can't just throw lopsided trade proposals out there like they would be accepted.
  18. All of those guys have warts and the bidding will be pretty strong I think. I doubt that package gets it done to be honest. Which of Hiura, Burnes, Peralta, Woodruff have "warts"? Ray has contact issues that I'd consider a wart, but the other 4...now you're just making stuff up. Peralta throwing strikes, Woodruff quite possibly is just a bullpen guy, Ray has contact issues and Nottingham might not hit enough. The others I didn't mention so not sure why you included them.

  20. I'd be willing to do a Peralta, Woodruff, Ray and Nottingham deal. Other than that, just sign a free agent.
  21. Do we really want someone from a second place team?
  22. With his less than stellar postseason, it might have lowered the price for Grandal. Signing him would really help the offense and I would be curious to see how his lefty bat would play in Miller Park. If we sign him, it is likely that we wouldn't be able to sign anyone else (barring trades of course).
  23. Whomever pays Kershaw will regret it in a couple of years for sure. I hear the Cubs could use a starter?
  24. I am happy that all of the new Brewers bandwagoners can jump on with the Bucks!
