  1. Kim seems like a guy we hope doesn't sign early and we swoop in late. Any ideas on what the predicted contract for him is?
  2. Thanks Willy, good luck with your new team and boatload of money.
  3. I would be shocked if Black was ever given the job at 2nd or 3rd.
  4. If the Sox insisted on Frelick, I would think about it. I believe Perkins is a very valuable 4th outfielder, especially with a couple of injury prone guys. I would not trade a cheap Mitchell in this trade.
  5. I'm not trading Pratt unless it's for someone with less question marks. Robert is a risk but it's a gamble worth taking if the price is reasonable.
  6. No we aren't sure about Smith but I would like to bring in a guy that can be a young(ish) and low cost player with some potential. Between our young guys in the minors, we may only need a stopgap anyways. I would assume the Rangers would have to throw in a little bit more but not much. One year of Devin at 10 mil plus the QO doesn't have a huge amount of value. Robert fits well into our future payroll. He is owed about Willy made this year and then you have two years of club options that are pretty close to what Hoskins makes. If he isn't performing, you can always decline the option and free up that space. I think Robert would benefit from moving to a better run organization and the Brewers always seem to be in the mix for a higher end outfielder (Bryan Reynolds comes to mind recently) I am not huge on Black personally so would like to sell on him while he has some prospect status.
  7. First of many offseason plans. Trade Devin Williams to the Rangers for Josh Smith Trade Tyler Black to the White Sox for Luis Robert Sign Paul Dejong on a one year deal. I like Josh Smith as an option for 3rd base and like that he could also play shortstop which the team obviously would like. Dejong has a Wisconsin connection and I would like him to be a guy that starts 3-4 times a week across the infield. The team is going to lose a lot of power this offseason (Adames and Sanchez for sure) They have correctly identified that the team needs some boppers in the lineup. I know people have strong opinions on Robert but we need someone to "replace" Willy's power and I think Robert could do that. With our outfield depth, we could load manage his playing time a bit to hopefully keep him healthy all season. Black is probably best as an OF/DH and I am fine with another team giving him some low pressure time in MLB. Other than some minor moves that they always seem to make, I don't think they need to do much on the pitching side. Chourio (LF) Yelich (DH) Contreras (C) Robert (RF/CF) Mitchell (RF/CF) Hoskins (1B) Smith (3B) Ortiz (SS) Turang (2B)
  8. Willy is an 80 grade teammate and person but his defense falling off a cliff is alarming. The eye test matches the stats on this as well.
  9. From a viewing perspective, this team was also much more enjoyable. Pitching games are great but 2-1 and 3-2 wins constantly aren't what I am interested in.
  10. I just feel like this is the most well rounded team we have had in recent memory. Very few ABs or innings put in by guys that have no business being in MLB.
  11. Fisher has been putting trash on the field for years.
  12. That clip was really incredible to me. Mitchell easily turned that into a triple. What amazing speed and tools from him. I say this often but I have been one of the bigger Mitchell fans on here. With that said, I think Perkins plays a better CF at this time, stats be damned.
  13. In case anyone needs a new hat
  14. I was told this team was going to be 0-3
  15. The vocal off-season doomsayers have disappeared as usual.
  16. I shudder to think what scoring in the National League would be like if they still let pitchers hit.
  17. I pretty much just trust the front office when it comes to pitching these days. We've come a long way.
  18. Bohm being visibly upset at the last two hits made me laugh.
  19. Few things would make me happier than the Cubs just missing the playoffs.
  20. Willy is awesome and my favorite player on the team. However, he has really struggled defensively this year and that has hurt his value to us a lot. Adames: 2.8 WAR Frelick: 2.0 WAR Frelick "seems" to really struggle this year but the value isn't incredibly different from this metric. With that said, Willy will get a big contract and I will be happy for him. (and our QO)
  21. Was it actually less?
  22. Minus a major injury, Civale is coming back in 25. They gave up a decent prospect to get him.
