  1. Yes, we should absolutely bring Miley back. At worst, he is a player coach.
  2. I can't see either of these guys being interested in playing for the Brewers at this point in their careers.
  3. Okay, might as well do another one of these, eventually I might get something right. Trade 1: Royals: Pasquantino (BTV 26.6) for Brewers: Frelick (22.2 BTV) and Payamps (3.9 BTV) The Royals need a CF and Frelick does not fit well on the Brewers roster. This would allow Perkins to be the 4th outfielder as well as let Black be the outfielder that he probably will be. India could be the Royals 1st baseman where he probably belongs anyways. They could also get involved with Pete Alonso potentially. Ironically, I would also do the same trade for Casas from Boston. Sign: One of Moncada, Polanco or Rojas. Any of these guys would be fine to fight with Durbin to see who will start at 3rd. I can't imagine any of them will sign for decent money and all of them have warts. Sign: Trevor Williams to a 2 year, 14 million contract. We don't know what we are going to get from Woody and Myers is still mostly unproven. Signing Williams to a 2 year deal would help bring another veteran to the team. Williams was really good in limited innings last season. He's been pretty good 3 out of the last 4 years. He isn't a big strikeout guy and would benefit a lot from our infield defense. These moves would allow us financial flexibility to add during the season if we need to. Chourio (RF) Yelich (LF) Contreras (C) Pasquantino (1B) Hoskins (DH) Mitchell (CF) Free agent 3B Ortiz (SS) Turang (2B) Bench: Haase, Perkins, Durbin, Black Rotation: Peralta, Cortes, Myers, Civale, Woody, Williams
  4. No reason to move anyone out of their position for Polanco, if that's the route we go. If you could get him to play a decent 3rd base and get more like 2023 out of him.... he would be okay for a cheap stopgap. He still walks at a nice clip and hits homers. It's all of the rest of the slugging that fell off a cliff. It seems like almost everyone on Seattle couldn't hit last year so maybe a reprieve is needed? Drury would be a guy you add on a minor league deal if you do it.
  5. Didn't have him going there
  6. The LA Deferrals are at it again
  7. Out of that list, I would go Moncada.
  8. Darn near a bye week.... the Aints are back
  9. It looks like Alonso and Kim are the last higher level FAs we may be "in" on. I would be satisfied if we got one of them.
  10. Buehler to the Red Sox
  11. Missing out on Lowe for a price in this ballpark could be a mistake.
  12. Better than the Cubs I guess
  13. I think Baty stinks and I'd do a trade for him if all it costs is EBJ
  14. This is the first signing this offseason where I thought the player would have gotten more
  15. I think this is a risk worth taking, assuming that the Jays will throw a little bit of money with him. I have a hard time believing that a 26/27 year old with 2000 at bats forgot how to hit. He looks to be about average defensively so you leave him at shortstop to keep the peace for a one year guy. I think the Jays are the likeliest team to sign Bregman so this makes sense.
  16. Some of you clearly have not been in the entertainment business before or at least recently. They are not making much if anything on those prices.
  17. Throw Left Handed? Check. ERA of 5+? Check Come on down!
  18. Bryse Wilson to the White Sox. I wish him good luck, hopefully the Sox will have improved defense otherwise it will be ugly for him
  19. It's not that I'm worried about a future starter. My main concern is we really have no one else other than Quero to take over for Contreras. We have much more depth at other positions.
  20. No, Quero is our catcher of the future.
  21. The Brewers have LOTS of trade candidates that have value so I plan on them making a trade for a starter or a starting position player this off season. Players like Frelick and Black are decent players but would fit better on another team. Those are the guys to look to move. If the top top is 120 million, that is very workable. The team could and should move Payamps and save another 4 million as well. My list of what the team needs in priority order: 1. First Base 2. Third Base 3. Controllable Starting Pitcher
  22. He's a future outfielder, likely on a different team
  23. A guy that has drawn a lot of interest and is definitely on the market, Jesus Luzardo. He does not cost a ton and you would have two years of control on him. I believe we could use another starter for this season and definitely for next season. Brewers: Luzardo (21.9 BTV) Marlins: Frelick (21.4 BTV) and Uribe (7.4 BTV)
  24. Any interest in Casey Schmitt from the Giants? Here's another guy that's pretty much blocked now that the Giants signed Willy and Chapman long term. He has a lot of team control and is cheap. He was a former shortstop which we kinda like moving those guys to third base. He was bad in limited at bats in 2023 but was much better in even more limited at bats in 2024. Brewers: Schmitt (3.4 BTV) Giants: Peguero (5.9 BTV) Schmitt hits LHP well and Durbin hits RHP well so it's setup for a "soft" platoon at 3B.
