  1. Saw a rumor of Pablo Lopez for Max Kepler. Lopez would be a good add to our rotation
  2. If you ever draft a RB in the first round, you do it when you are a Super Bowl contender. To do it when you are likely going to rebuild is not smart.
  3. A RB in the first round? No.
  4. I would be pleased with getting 3 of the top 35.
  5. Not saying I wouldn't like Reynolds in our lineup but he just seems like a buy high kind of guy. I think, more than ever, team control and pre-arby guys are going to be huge for the Brewers.
  6. Just an update on my 2022 investing if anyone cares. I invested all of my primary job's salary (before bonus) in the market. I did weekly buys in 4 ETFs. 40% in a Total US Market Fund, 40% in a Dividend US Fund, 15% in an Income US fund and 5% in an International Dividend Fund. I ended up being down 1% for the year after re-investing dividends. I was hoping to dump some of my year end bonus in the market but right now have it in high yield savings accounts earning around 4%. If the market starts to go down and hits certain figures, I will start throwing the bonus money into the 4 funds above. Talking to other people, they said I did pretty well. If you put a lot of money in Tech, you probably got killed. I put in offers for 4 rental properties and did not get any of them. All of them were bought with cash and well over ask so nothing lost. 2023 goals are to keep investing weekly and not check my account so much.
  7. He is good, I think they should keep him for a while.
  8. I think Keston can be useful and have a role on the team. He needs to be used in a proper way to succeed however and that was not done in 2022.
  9. Bucks beat a good NO team. Marjon does some things very well and looks to have a nice future.
  10. I was hoping he would be one of those late market additions that go for less than what market value is to be believed. If he is off the market, shift focus to Longoria on a one year deal.
  11. Thank you for this. Have never heard of Middendorf and we will need guys like him to contribute.
  12. I know many people think he will be gone but Keston Hiura is still on the roster. Until he isn't, you have to assume he will be on the team. (Yes I am aware he did not hit LHP well last year but his whole stat line was odd)
  13. Ha, was just going to quote you and mention this. I was hoping it would go to 4.25% but they do need to make a few bucks too I guess.
  14. The odds of Mitchell, Frelick, Wiemer, and Chourio all being worthy starters is very low. I would be thrilled if 3 of them pan out.
  15. And just like that, the positivity of the offseason is over.
  16. Here is what I would do. 1. Sign Justin Turner 2 years, 24 million. 2nd year is a mutual option with 3 million dollar buyout. (first year, 10 million, 2nd year 14 million) If he tries to play us like he might have done last time, move on to Drury. 2. Sign Cueto for one year 8 million dollars. Honestly, I could be way off here but he wasn't listed as one of the top 50 free agents so I can't imagine he will get a huge deal. The rotation was not as good as we were hoping last year and it would be good to have a veteran. 3. Sign Seth Lugo for 1 year, 4 million dollars. He would take over the Boxberger role. Rotation Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, Cueto, Lauer, Ashby Bullpen Williams, Lugo, Houser, Bush, Guerra, Milner, Varland Lineup Yelich, Adames, Winker, Turner, Tellez, Contreras, Urias, Mitchell, Frelick Bench Caratini, Hiura, Brosseau, Taylor
  17. Old Starting Catcher OPS (2022): .597 Old Starting DH OPS (2022): .700 New Starting Catcher OPS (2022): .860 New Starting DH OPS: .688 So far so good overall and we got a lot younger. I am looking forward to better defense from our rookies. Hopefully between Mitchell, Frelick, Weimer, Taylor and Turang we can get some production.
  18. Earnest Spivey should have trademarked that.
  19. As of now, I think the team is better than last year. Let's try and upgrade at 3rd, get one more "A" bullpen guy and some more rotation depth and I will be happy.
  20. I don't think it would have been too terrible if those two were traded for Ruiz. Ruiz HAS to be graded differently by us and the A's
  21. RIP to me using Ruiz as a throw in for trade ideas. Almost makes me think there is something wrong with Contreras? Even if he stinks, you can't get mad at this trade because it was too good to pass up on.
  22. Used car prices are falling like a rock
  23. Yeah a trade is probably what we should do. I am a believer in Quero but he is probably 2 years away so a stop gap of at least 2 seasons would be nice. The Braves have 3 catchers, maybe we can swing a deal for one of them.
  24. While I agree that we need some help against LHP, it would not be wise to spend a lot to do it. I like Drury in theory but not if we spend all of the money we are planning to spend this offseason on him. I would rather upgrade at catcher as I would prefer VC to be the backup and I don't believe Felicano is ready/good enough.
