  1. Interestingly, Gary has still rated out better than some of this year’s draft LB options, most notably Patrick Queen. As Preston Smith is apparently back in more of a pass rushing mode (or at least was tonight) Gary will have to step up his game or his playing time will definitely decrease.
  2. Wow. That’s about as close as it gets on the sideline. I think TD, or at least unable to overturn based on what they showed so far.
  3. Yep. Completely subjective. To my knowledge there is no one out there 'grading' 3B coaches to even try to determine A)Their value in runs added/subtracted, or B)Their value relative to other 3B coaches. As such, they're a lightning rod that fan bases love to complain about. Their current guy is the absolute worst.... until they watch the next guy, and he's the absolute worst. Very similar to complaining about managers, IMO.
  4. Yeah, with both teams dealing with this I can't believe the NFL doesn't push this out.
  5. Seems like if the price was high on Fuller, you could pivot easily to Stills/Cobb etc. since Houston has a lot of WR talent that is modestly useless to them and would cost far less to acquire.
  6. Wisconsin/Purdue officially cancelled. No more leeway games for Wisconsin if they want to play for a title.
  7. Both of those would be just fine by me, and they'd likely improve the team quite well.
  8. I don't think either take is inaccurate at this point. Gary had some good games early, and he hasn't been very present since. I do think some of that is scheme- when you're not blitzing at all like yesterday, an edge isn't going to get his name called much, as with Z's quiet day. Clark's season is a bit lost at this point. Obviously, injured for the first part, and largely ineffective since. I'm sure the former has effected the latter, but a resurgent Clark would go a long way towards helping with the run defense.
  9. Same. All of us had direct exposure to the person testing positive and we are now quarantined.
  10. This is quite correct, barring an admission directly from players/coaches. Beyond that, it's purely speculation based on logic. Teams are never entirely as good as it seems when they're winning, and they're not nearly as bad as fans think they are after a loss. We Packer fans really take losses hard, possibly because there's less of them historically than so many other franchises.
  11. A home game against a Vikings team that was absolutely decimated in the secondary? If you felt that of the two games in this five day period, the Vikings game was the harder of the two you might be in pretty lonely company, IMO. It's genius roster management if it works out, which it probably would most of the time. But if it backfires, it's not great. And again, the theory on Bakh was my own, not based on anything I've seen elsewhere...
  12. 49ers got beat up with injuries again today. Will be interesting to watch as the injury reports progress this week.
  13. How many horseshoes do the Bears have this year? Also, with all of the referees that have retired, how is truly horrible Tony Corrente still employed?
  14. ?? Nine people there currently, and they've had patients there since early this past week, I believe: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/alternate-care-facility.htm 9. Exactly. Statewide crisis it is not. Nine is more than zero. [sarcasm]But I’m sure they could clear the squatters from the ICU beds if need be.[/sarcasm]
  15. I won't claim to know the financials, but Santana seems like a great candidate to yield better results on the 'one year deal with an option' contract.
  16. Did I say anything to imply that I thought the outcome would be different if he played? I took your comment in the context of the larger discussion to determine why the team lost No, two separate points. Sorry, I think this is very off base, IMO. You can implement a half-hearted game plan expecting to win vs. an inferior team while planning ahead for the better team knowing you have a short week to do so. It happens literally all the time in sports, especially when you have a quick turnaround. They probably won't admit to much, but I would bet my next paycheck that staff devoted more time to San Fran this week than usual.
  17. Yeah, the weather didn’t help. Neither did the penalties. And neither did missing David Bakhtiari and Aaron Jones. I’m willing to give them a pass today and not get too hung up on this one. But I gave them a pass two weeks ago and excuses are wearing thin. Hopefully, they right the ship soon. I think the difference is that Tampa is actually a really good team. This one is a clunker. Looking competent vs. San Fran would make most of us forget this one.
  18. Did I say anything to imply that I thought the outcome would be different if he played?
  19. No, I think they just got exposed. Let's not say things we can't take back in anger. I'm sure they were looking ahead. My own hot take- I think they're keeping guys back that could play in games they think they don't need them in. Davante told us as much earlier this year. I suspect Bakh could have gone today, but they thought they didn't need him...
  20. 1)This team really doesn't seem to recover well from adversity. They don't come back well under MLF thus far, and the offense is built to be more deliberate than allowed for when trailing. As I said vs. TB, it's a lot like watching the Badgers' offense when they need to come back. Even more perplexing when you're facing a bad and injured secondary. Happy that they found a way to make this a game at the end, but yech. 2)Not much to say about the garbage performance by the defense beyond that it was garbage all around. I think a new defensive coordinator is on the horizon. One of the biggest frustrations about Capers' defense was the strategy of 'cover on third down vs. a good QB'. Cousins really isn't a good QB, so terrifying to see that scheme used against him today, with a literal failure on every single third down. I guess you can point to getting that last stop as one possible bright spot. 3)Martin's play is about the only positive performance I can point to on defense. Thoroughly looking forward to seeing more of him on the field. 4)Also nice to see Dillon more involved today, and productively so. Obviously, the second half necessitated scrapping the run, but he performed well today overall. 5)I think a lot of the calls that went against GB were borderline, with many of them within the 'rule' to cause a flag. But, I feel that both PIs and at least the first Lewis hold were calls that don't get made often. Frustrating to see all of them go against us. 6)These MLF lead teams seem to look dominant when they win and absolutely incompetent when they lose. I guess it's less painful to lose that way, but man, they're ugly. 7)Good news that the short week allows for the ability to put an ugly game behind us quickly. Bad news is that they'll have to play a billion times better to win on Thursday. 8)Pretty sure Zimmer managed to lobby the refs out of a legit PI call. That's indicative of a rough day for the zebras, IMO. It won't get talked about NEARLY as much as it should this week, considering that it may have cost us a possible score that would have completely changed the last two minutes of the game. 9)It really is sad that we seem to have a clunker like this every year, but I guess every team does. Felt bad about this one last night after feeling good all week, but that's with hindsight I guess.
  21. Well, that's the stop they needed. Come on, Aaron!
  22. ?? Nine people there currently, and they've had patients there since early this past week, I believe: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/alternate-care-facility.htm
  23. Sigh. And 6 yards on first down when you need a stop....
  24. Hey! Way to get it correct.
  25. That's a good two-point conversion, but I have zero confidence they'll correctly overturn that.
