  1. The Dodgers' offense has been held scoreless for 22 of the 27 innings of the series so far.
  2. Chryst still coaches the game like he has a top-level defense, which finally isn't the case this year after losing a ton of talent the last two. I think they'll be good again, but the d-line and secondary are young and very work-in-progress. Offensive gameplanning is a chicken-or-the-egg thing, IMO. Do they gameplan basic because the offensive talent level isn't great, or is the gameplan just lackluster? Don't really know. All I do know is that I didn't think it was possible to have a more conservative coach than Barry Alvarez, but Chryst might be it.
  3. Nice that we have a statistically good umpire behind the plate tonight, with relatively poor Gerry Davis on deck for game 3. I'll add that Scott Barry lived up to his below average reputation last night, as that Kratz strike 3 call was horrendous.
  4. A win today guarantees a return trip home... unless, of course, we win 4-0 or 4-1. Very excited to make the trip in today!
  5. Probably a silly question, but I've never used the ballpark app for a game before- do all people in my group need the app to show a ticket at the gate, or can I have them scan them all from my phone?
  6. We've gone over this multiple times, and multiple warnings have been issued. Any more personal attacks, and people are going to be out of here during the NLCS.
  7. Now look at what his numbers were last year, and the two before that. Saladino has been what he was this year forever. Schoop seems to be having a very bad year, but has at least shown that he could potentially be a different hitter than that.
  8. Was able to get two for Saturday after trying unsuccessfully to get four.... got in fairly quickly after ten, so there wasn't much available together already at that point.
  9. I'll echo this, 100%. I'm big enough to note that I thought, incorrectly, that this team was a few pieces away from 'reloading' and competing this year. I think its become more clear, as others have suggested, that though I think 'rebuilding' isn't necessary in the Packers case, they could have done a more significant reload, dumping Cobb, Matthews, and the like, and put themselves in a better position for the future this coming offseason. I think McCarthy is done, and this team will be ready to compete again in fairly quick order if the 2019 offseason goes well.
  10. This is certainly true... I know there historically was a lot of griping (including here, IIRC) about the roof and how it had such an effect on the cost and feel of the park, but this team needs to be able to draw fans from the Fox Valley, Madison, etc. as it doesn't have 10 million people in the metro area for attendance. It has ended up being one of the smartest business decisions the Seligs/team/stadium district ever made.
  11. Unsurprisingly, Jordy's numbers are almost identical to Allison's at this point.
  12. If they're not sure about Peralta in the rotation with his lack of secondary pitches, I could see them using him as a right-handed Hader next year. His fastball is electric, and one time through the order (or presumably less) could allow him to be a dominant RHP for 1-2 innings.
  13. I think a lot of people bought into their analytics and their shifts. It's the Schoop trade that really made no sense. Hey, even David Stearns can’t bat 1.000!
  14. Major gold star to Chacin. Five shutout innings from him on short rest and not having his best stuff. Got the lead to the bullpen.
  15. The Cubs have the feel of a sleeping giant, and I'm glad the next chance they'll get to wake up is in April, not in Milwaukee on Thursday. Really, they're exhausted. Not an excuse, as you have to play the games and the schedule you get. No one in Milwaukee is at this point looking back at our crazy stretch of July games with regret. I think in Chicago's case, the exhaustion exposed the problems with their bullpen and depth, which is amazing to see in September with extended rosters.
  16. Cubs fans think every pitch thrown by a Cub is a strike and every ball that strikes a Cub’s bat is a hit. It’s unreal.
  17. Rodgers looked exponentially more mobile, which is fantastic. I'll agree that he looked a bit off today, but I thought the offense looked like it was more functional than it was vs. Washington.
  18. Surprised at the lack of excitement over the defense's performance at the very least. The Bills may not end up being a significant win when looking back at the end of this season, but they ARE one week removed from dismantling what is supposed to be a good Minnesota team in Minneapolis, and the Packers made them look completely inept in most phases of the game today. I think that's worth something, IMO.
  19. Limited time to try to sell them online to an opposing fan, I'd assume. Limits resale.
  20. Snagged two tickets to a hypothetical game 5. Hoping that if I don't use them, it's because we already advanced by then!
