  1. And now 56%. We are now the favorites.
  2. I think that’s pretty close, rick. I can’t see them not including Anderson, though. It’s getting harder by the day to want Thames on the roster. I wouldn’t be stunned to see them choose Broxton instead to have a PR on the bench.
  3. Interestingly, because of his defensive versatility and solid play on that side of the ball, Schoop has maintained a slightly positive WAR in Milwaukee despite his struggles with the bat. That aspect of his game has been a pleasant surprise.
  4. Last warning, guys. Next time a mod has to step into this thread people will get some time off during the most exciting week of Brewers baseball in years.
  5. The Brewers' chances of winning the division jumped from ~15% this morning to ~43% tonight.
  6. Waiting for the Cubs game to go final, but worth noting in the meantime that the Cards have had their playoff odds drop to 30%.... ouch. Obviously, we're rooting for them to play well starting after tomorrow, but they're in a major fight just to get in at this point.
  7. Perhaps the real takeaway is that pitching stats put up in Baltimore aren't indicative of anything, because Orioles.
  8. I would think the Brewers want quality training facilities and the like for players' conditioning. I would also think that with the way they taxi the players back and forth, you'd want amenities to keep the players happy/comfortable, possibly a perk to AAAA guys that you'd like to sign and stash there for depth.
  9. This is one of those crap times where the NFL stands by a bad interpretation of a bad rule, then quietly changes the rule to address all the outrage next offseason....
  10. There are SOOOOOO many subjective calls in the NFL, and it feels like the referees don't even know what the rules are at times. That's probably at least partially due to them changing every year, it seems. There really should be something to override a referee's bad call on subjective plays when the game is on the line. It's a real shame that some refs consistently seem to get it wrong, and Tony Corente has been one of them....
  11. The Badgers (and probably most other football/basketball programs, I'd assume) do the same thing, but on a YEARLY basis. You're forced to give a dontation to athletics for the right to buy tickets in many sections.
  12. Choosing between StL and a likely Kershaw matchup in a one-game round is pretty easy for me, even though the thought of playing the Cards haunts me due to 2011.
  13. A nice reminder that no matter how many draft picks they give up for good players, the Bears are still so Bears-y.
  14. Feels like we’ve been here dozens of times before... need a stop from the defense, and they can’t get off the field.
  15. Yeah, I thought they played better at the end of the half, but this feels like the exact same crap as the last 7 seasons.
  16. Defense actually settled in a bit after the first two drives. Not a thing to like about the offense, though. The offensive line managed to go from one of the league’s best to horrendous in two seasons....
  17. I thought they actually called a nice drive for Kizer there. Could have done without the Huntley-esque turnover at the end....
  18. What broadcast director thinks, hey, let’s use the most inconvenient camera angle for people watching on this whole drive?
  19. The season over stuff is a bit much unless that ankle is broken, but it’s certainly correct to say that one team came out with energy and fire, and the other is the Packers. Unbelievably flat for what should be an easy game to get up for.
  20. I'm basically on the anti-Saints bandwagon because of owning their first. Seeing them lose to a supposed-to-be-bad Bucs team today while playing zero defense makes me very happy. Considering the Saints were in the top 3-5 of a lot of Power Rankings this preseason, that might be the surprise of week 1 so far.
