  1. Would everyone casting stones have taken the proverbial high road themselves? I seriously question that. I don't think there's much to question. If a customer of my employer went to my boss with a complaint, I can say completely honestly that about the last thing on my mind would be to publish the guy's name and e-mail address.
  2. AL strike zone tonight or something? Those last two to Sweeney were practically right down the middle?!
  3. You forgot the 7th inning stretch, brought to you by Pick and Save, where you're always able to stretch your food dollar.
  4. That's about as unfair a blown save as you'll ever see for a pitcher.
  5. I really wouldnt say dealing... 8 hits in 7 innings. Fair enough.... I should have said, "Not giving up go ahead runs." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. Why in the world would you bring in a lefthander to face Braun, Durham, and Hardy? Especially when Lowe was dealing....
  7. I would think putting his name and e-mail in his blog opens the JS up for a possible lawsuit. Tom's unprofessional behavior is just astounding. Yeah, it probably stinks to watch your work criticized when you feel you've made your best effort, but that's what the writing profession is all about. I'm sure movie makers aren't happy when critics tear apart their movies, or when authors have books that are poorly received. But I'll bet the makers of "Glitter" didn't post the e-mail addresses and names of the people who didn't like the movie on the studio's website.
  8. Weeks, Cameron, & Hall are all having years that are well below what I think they ought to be doing. Cameron's power & RBIs are pretty positive, actually, but the high Ks and low BA & OPS out of these 3 Cameron has a .831 OPS, which is his 2nd highest OPS since 2001, and the third best in his career. His BA is almost identical to last year's, and he's just slightly below his career average. If he's performing well below what you think he should be, what were you expecting from him heading into this year?
  9. Good thing that Comcast deal set the framework for deals with Charter and Time Warner. Ugh. Looks like no Badgers week one or two for most people in Wisconsin.
  10. http://lambeauleap.yuku.com/forums/59
  11. I guess I can't get worked up about him any more. He's an old hack at a breathtakingly mediocre paper, lazy on his beat and unable to come to terms with this newfangled blogging thing, a duty which I'm sure was foisted on him as he kicked and screamed. I think you're right there. It's extremely disappointing, though, that they manage to put together probably the best sports coverage in the Midwest for the Packers via McGinn and Silverstein, along with Bedard and Nickel. Potrykus is great covering the Badgers as well. Yet we're stuck with Haudricourt and Witrado, who are quickly becoming the Laurel and Hardy of baseball reporting.
  12. Nix is actually having a decent year in AAA- .284/.348/.539/.887 with 23 HR. I'm guessing with Braun's status a little wacky, they wanted the extra OF instead of calling up Dillon.
  13. Well, at least this sort of helps explain all the PT for Counsell.
  14. The Reds were not going to offer Dunn arby, or so the rumors had it. They got 3 more players than nothing, so that's not so bad. Well, it's not so bad if they were dumb enough not to offer him arby. But if that's indicative of how their front office thinks, they'd be better off without the picks to screw up then anyway.
  15. "yet another" - who is/are the current cheater(s)? Gagne, I assume?
  16. Rumblings from the AZ media seem to indicate that Micah Owings might be one of the ptbnl, most likely pushing this phase of the trade after the season ends. Does he have options left? Otherwise, he can't be a part of the trade without going to the minors somehow.
  17. I think he'd have to be on the roster by August 31, barring an injury to someone in September.
  18. A single A pitcher coming off TJ surgery seems to be a pretty small prize for Dunn. No kidding. The Reds would have probably gotten a significantly higher return simply taking the two comp picks.
  19. I could swear that when we played volleyball in gym class in school, that only the team that was serving could score. Is my memory way off? Are there different variations of volleyball scoring? Did scoring rules change since I was in school? I believe there was a huge rules change around 2001 throughout volleyball that implemented 'rally scoring' that gives points regardless of who is serving.
  20. I think it really depends on the country. I think it also depends on the sport. Peyton Manning is on literally every-other commercial in the US during football season, but probably has very, very low marketability outside of the US because football just isn't very popular anywhere else. Basketball is a different story due to the international makeup of the player base and it's popularity pretty much everywhere. Football and even baseball really can't get close to it's level of international popularity, despite being the two biggest sports in the US by far.
  21. I practically jumped across my living room when I saw the 1 come up in front of the US after that relay. Wow.
  22. I think Braun is the **** No swearing or implied swearing, thanks.
  23. Unless you need as HR, Kendall is as likely as any PH to reach safely. Unless you PH with Kapler, Branyan, Durham, or Weeks, who all have higher OBP, as does Mike Rivera in his small sample.
