  1. Being discussed here: http://brewersfandemonium...--contr.html#reply-438941
  2. I don't know how Melvin keeps his job, extending the guy who orchestrated the first collapse. Melvin buys another year by firing Yost. Yost will take most of the heat, and Melvin gets another year.
  3. Guys, making it close will only make the day we clinch that much sweeter! And hey, my cardiologist could use a new Benz. The Brewers are just helping me do my part.
  4. That sound you here is the state of Wisconsin turning its attention to the Packers in September yet again instead of watching a Brewers collapse.
  5. Panic panic panic panic panic. Panic, panic panic panic! Panic panic panic, panic, panic. Oh boy.
  6. Linebrink has a 2.20 ERA, .95 Whip, and absurdly good peripherals this year. I think his demise was greatly exaggerated.
  7. Does it seem like we've given up a lot of 2-strike hits lately?
  8. Also if this is our "all in" year Melvin could have scoured the league for a reliever producing in '08 among the bottom teams in July Well, considering that Melvin still gets raked over the coals here for doing that last year (including in this very thread), it's kind of a lose-lose situation for him among the fans. I wonder if they should have made a bigger effort to get Taschner back with Durham in the Giants trade, since it was initially rumored that he'd be involved anyway.
  9. They made a revision and Derek Lowe is now a Type A. Then I'm much less enthusiastic about it, but still interested. The Brewers need help in the staff next year, and where they are relative to the young players suggests that this offseason it might actually be worth giving a first to get the help they need to keep competing.

  12. Actually, we lost a half a game since the Mets and Phillies split their doubleheader. Same as it was on Saturday morning. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Sabathia seems somewhat reasonable for $65. Anyone planning on going in on either one of the signings?
  14. Pot meet kettle perhaps... Lots of undies in a bunch after the loss today. Who really knows if I was being condescending or really admiring his postwhore prowess? I guess only me. Regardless, your additional condescending response earned you a strike instead of the warning we were set to go with.
  15. I realize that most of you are probably bigger Packers fans than Brewers fans and thats cool but is one Packers game more important than the Brewers making the playoffs for the first time in 26 years The Packers' game is game one out of only 16 on the year, while the Brewers' is 1 of 162. Adding in that you have the Packers playing against their biggest in-division competition, one of their biggest rivals, with Aaron Rodgers making his debut at QB, and the first game of the year, with the Brewers playing a team that's not a playoff contender and still going to have at worst a 2 game lead in the WC regardless of what happens tomorrow night makes the Packer game a much bigger draw for most fans of both teams, I'd think.
  16. So if the Phils sweep today, the WC lead could be down to 3 -- is that right? That's correct.
  17. 4 posts in 6 minutes. Bravo. That was unnecessary. First, IGT's are generally allow more frequent posting than other threads as in-game action happens fast and by nature suggest more rapid posting. Second, it's not your job to regulate how often people post here, or comment on it in a condescending way either.
  18. Nice effort there at the plate too Billy! Thanks for the help today!
  19. Bill Hall not only stinks at the plate, he also gives up five runs in an inning with his defense. A true double threat player.
  20. Packers, with Brewers during the commercials.
  21. After further review of the list, Edmonds wouldn't give the Cubs any comp whatsoever, and if his resurgence is somewhat legit, he'd be an interesting option as a lefty power bat for the Brewers, especially if they aren't willing to pick up Cam's option. If they're not sticking with Weeks (or if they'd like to have a vet-type off the bench), Grudz also wouldn't require the Brewers to give comp. Jeff Kent had a decline this year, but also could be an interesting option there.

  24. The Brewers clinched a winning season - on September 6 - and their second consecutive winning season since 1991-92. When I saw win 82 next to the box score last night, I let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness the losing seasons are completely in the rear view mirror, at least for a couple of seasons now.
  25. There's a lot of condescension and accusations here- shutting this one down before we have to start issuing strikes.
