  1. People really forget how terrible Rodgers looked in his first three games in relief of Favre. It wasn’t until his 4th vs. Dallas that he actually looked competent…. Love was better than that today. Not quite ready yet, but until Wednesday, he wasn’t expected to be.
  2. The Vikings’ defense is pretty bad.
  3. Unlike Rodgers, the reporters actually asked him about that- he said he thought it was the responsible thing to do considering his exposure to the other two QBs who were positive. Edit: Also, 100% league protocol.
  4. The AFC North appears to be a race between 3 teams that aren't good enough to just run away with it.
  5. Uuuuuuundoubtedly, which is why the investigation, though hypothetically reasonable and probably going to end up bad for the Packers, is a complete scapegoat situation for the league. They 100% knew about his status, and the league office probably watched him violate the rules week after week without doing anything because of who he is. Which is terrible. Really, almost as terrible as 'reporters' like Rapoport who CLEARLY knew Rodgers' situation staying completely silent on it until the situation hit the fan.... But, to your point, plenty of blame to go around. But it's the team that probably suffers, rightly or wrongly.
  6. They could not put him directly in front of the press, which is what they've done for all other unvaccinated players. What if Rodgers doesn't comply and goes on his own as it seems was his preference? Are they going to physically restrain him? I suppose it's possible he Ultimate Warrior's his way into his press conference in such a scenario, but seems quite unlikely, right? Seems more reasonable to consider what would have happened if the Packers hadn't simply enabled him, but instead treated him like the others in his situation, IMO.
  7. A couple of early surprises with Minnesota up two scores on Baltimore and Denver up 16-0 on Dallas thus far.
  8. They could not put him directly in front of the press, which is what they've done for all other unvaccinated players.
  9. Packers can’t waive King as it actually hurts their cap situation because of the deferred money.
  10. I know some of it is lesser competition but they are most definitely improving. Rutgers notwithstanding, laugher-type wins vs. Purdue and Iowa are going to look pretty good come season end.
  11. Unlike his predecessor starting QB, he clearly said as much in his presser this week as well.
  12. It’s not Covid-19 theory, it’s called immunology me boy. That is like stating salt is NaOH or sulfuric acid H2SO4 facts could be argued. These are called a facts, if you were referring to my comments. If not….I appologize. No, simply steering the thread accordingly as it was veering more towards general Pandemic debate than Rodgers stuff. But, condescendingly referring to anyone on the site in the future as “my boy” probably isn’t the best strategy for anyone who wants to continue posting here without some time off.
  13. Just to keep the thread pointed in the right direction: let’s keep the discussion focused on Rodgers and his situation. Deviating into more general areas of governmental policy, mandates, COVID theory skews toward discussion that isn’t allowed here. Many thanks in assisting in our efforts to keep this thread on the rails.
  14. Hard to determine what to read into a game vs. Rutgers, but if the offense plays like this the rest of the year, they’ll be tough to beat in the west.
  15. As largely expected, MVS activated and Bortles elevated for the game.
  16. The irony of wearing a shirt celebrating someone that died at age 36 of a contagious respiratory illness while rattling off questionable opinions regarding a contagious respiratory illness IS pretty awesome.
  17. Gotta love the fact they just extended his contract into 2028, I believe....aside from 1 season where everything broke their way and they had an unbelievably soft schedule, he has done nothing to make their program markedly better than a big ten also ran. This is really accurate. He’s basically got them as the same perpetually 7-5 or 8-4 team that doesn’t win big games and is headed to the Music City Bowl each year. No different than they were under Jerry Kill or Glenn Mason. I guess he’s an upgrade over the Tim Brewster types they’ve had there, but they treat him like he’s Urban Meyer….
  18. The issue continues to be two things, though Aaron is VERY MUCH trying to make the discussion about something else for obvious reasons: 1)He lied, or consciously tried to mislead, at best, and 2)Regardless of how you feel about body autonomy, he plays for an employer that put rules in place for how to act, as they do in a number of ways for many different circumstances. In this case, the issue is that he made his choice, which WAS allowed by said employer, then literally admitted yesterday that he didn't follow the rules by choice, and was fully aware of that fact. Obviously, he chose to put a lot of other questionable stuff out there from a medical/persecution complex-type perspective yesterday, but the heart of the matter really lies in these two items, IMO. In retrospect, I really do wonder how much of the offseason 'I might retire' stuff was ACTUALLY related to this. Now that Schefter has somewhat quietly walked back a lot of his initial reporting on the Rodgers/Packers issue, is it possible he was really posturing to get that out there in case the NFL's protocols required vaccination and he'd thus choose to walk away? Doesn't seem too far-fetched to me.....
  19. The hilarious thing about that is that in the past, Rodgers has been a card-carrying member of said mob. Do you have an example? I think he’s always had a more liberal vibe, but has never come across as preachy to me. We probably delve into discussing stuff that isn't really allowed here, but without going into specifics there are definitely examples where he used his celebrity status to further personal beliefs before.
  20. The hilarious thing about that is that in the past, Rodgers has been a card-carrying member of said mob.
  21. I believe now that the deadline is passed, the new rule is that he's technically on waivers rather than released. Seems somewhat low-risk for a team with a higher priority than the Packers to claim him before we have the chance....
  22. Now that the NFL has issued a 'we're looking into the situation' statement, I'm more concerned there's a possibility of losing draft picks as a way to make an example. Nevermind, of course, that the NFL is almost certainly culpable here, as they undoubtedly were aware of his status.
  23. Couldn't agree with this more. I guess to their benefit, they've basically had a week since the Adams news to deal with the possibility that this might happen to come up with a plan for handling it....
  24. I don't wanna take this you know where, and for the record, I'm vaccinated. But just testing positive isn't really the mark of an effective preventive measure, otherwise the vaccine isn't very effective (which it is, just in the same way most vaccines are, and not in the way the media ran with early on). Won't disagree with anything you said, but just to note: my post was referring to his intended meaning by using 'immunized' vs. vaccinated, as immunized is OED defined as "Made immune to infection." Which, apparently, was wrong. No commentary regarding the effectiveness/ineffectiveness of any other methods of doing so intended.
  25. I guess I care because it's a mark of poor character. Which I guess we shouldn't be surprised by at this point based on his body of work. But, I prefer to root for good people when I can, I guess. Why not just own it? If you believe you can choose alternative medicine for protection (which apparently didn't actually work), own it. Or better yet, don't respond to the question and say 'That's my own business.' He chose to respond, and chose to do so in a misleading way.
