  1. Vargas with one of the ugliest quality starts you'll ever see. Funny thing is, looking at the box score, it really doesn't look bad at all.
  2. Great outing for Vargas.... get him a win!
  3. Good grief, Vargas is the ice man with runners on.
  4. When things go wrong, everything goes wrong, it seems.
  5. Getting out of 2nd and 3rd with no one out with only one across is relatively comforting.
  6. Where did they get this guy again? Ann Carol and him would make quite a couple The disturbing thing is that he mentioned it again later in the inning, so it wasn't just a slip of the tongue or an off-the-cuff remark ala Schroeder, it's something he actually thinks is a fact.
  7. Anderson: "Obermueller was the Brewers' opening day starter back in 2004." Uh, Brian, I'm about 1bajillion percent sure that's not true. I know the announce team doesn't have the luxury of turning off the crappy games of the last couple of weeks, but that's no excuse to start happy hour in the 1st inning.
  8. Schroeder: "You can't blame the struggles the last couple of weeks on the pitching staff" Uh, Bill, do you actually watch the games? Cappy, Bush and Vargas have largely sucked the last two-three weeks or so, and Suppan has been very mediocre. With four fifths of the rotation not doing well, how is it not the pitching staff's fault?
  9. I'd rather lose without him than win with him. As Joe said, he's a great player, but he's also a despicable human being. This from the guy that ridiculed the Astros mercilessly when they released Julio Lugo when he was accused of spousal abuse? What gives Al?
  10. We win one game in a week and have the same lead in the division that we had when we started that stretch..... insanity.
  11. I find it funny you feel you have to call me out when the ace of the staff has a good outing. You sound surprised. If he's the ace, you should expect this of him. Except that he CLEARLY said: Oh wait..we do. Every frickin time he starts. Please read other peoples' posts in their entirety before responding. Thanks.
  12. Way to throw that foul ball back, doofus.
  13. Yeah, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this thread or it's location.... I'm not really understanding the complaint.
  14. Peavy, you play bass right? Yep. I don't know if it's helped me or hurt me in the game, though. I think it helps with left hand dexterity, but I pluck at the strum bar and never two-way strum.
  15. If the D-Rays are serious about trading someone like Crawford, I'd explore that trade possibility for sure, and it'd almost have to involve Yo.
  16. Why does this guy keep getting playing time though? He's really not anymore, actually. He's had one start since May 17th and 8 AB's in that time.
  17. It looks like the 80s version is exclusive to PlayStation. That sucks for me because I have an Xbox 360. Yeah, my PS2 is starting to crap out on the more graphically challenging games, so I'm planning an upgrade to 360 sometime yet this year, so I hear you. Fortunately, the 80s version doesn't excite me practically at all. That said, the playlist for GHIII already looks really cool and they've only announced a small fraction of the songs.
  18. Activision has officially announced two 2007 installments for GH, one to be released already in mid-July themed for the 80's. The official website is already looping some of the songs to be featured. The wiki article has 18 of the 30 songs to be in the game listed as well. www.guitarherogame.com/gh80s/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gui...ks_the_80s Guitar Hero III is scheduled for the fall, and Activision already released 11 songs, 7 of which are the master tracks from the original artists, including Paint It, Black by the Rolling Stones! Looks to be a cool playlist so far: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_Hero_III I think the release of GTA IV later in the year is the one game that's going to actually surpass the sales of these things. Thoughts?
  19. And the bandwagon bus goes up and down, up and down. Are there any fans here than actually talk baseball? Or is this a site for simply explaining flaws and mistakes? But all will be well with a couple wins. Pretty bad. Are you actually capable of making a post without talking down to everyone else? You've already been warned in this thread. Knock it off, or you're gone. EDIT: Nevermind that last part.
  20. wow, they had that play predicted dead-on, and that was one of Johnny's usual poor throws to 2nd.
  21. I'll guarantee I could walk into 10 bars around the city today and at least 8 or 9 will have Indy and NASCAR on but no Brewers game. I'd take that bet. I'd imagine you'd have a hard time finding one of the ten.
  22. the good news is that the braves are struggling mightily right now as well... It's amazing how teams that have been scuffling (Twins, Dodgers) suddenly start to figure things out when they get to play the Brewers....
  23. What the @#%$ is with Counsell starting? No swearing, thanks.
