  1. Davis has been fantastic today, save for a ball that just barely got over the wall in RF.
  2. Man the Reds are clueless. Playing the IF in, in a one-run game in a hitter's ballpark with Clark at the plate? They turned an out into an RBI single.
  3. Thanks for the clarification, end. I don't think Ned was necessarily too quick with the hook, as he was playing to win. I definitely agree that Dana is definitely going to have to prove himself to earn the confidence of Ned before he would get a shot in the rotation.
  4. Nice job chopping up my post to your likely. You said: He hasn't even cracked AAA yet and its not like he has overpowering stuff. Situational lefty is where he belongs right now. About 15 starts + about 5 innings a start + minor league innings = too many innings in '05. I'd rather give hendrickson another shot in the big leagues, but i say keep santos and ohka for now. So your post shouldn't be interpreted as you advocating Hendrickson starting over Eveland? I just cut your post to reduce length. Like I said, i would keep santos and ohka now. People are making way too many knee jerk reactions. Santos' Runs allowed: Tonight: 5 in 5.0 innings 7/18: 6 in three innings 7/7: 8 in 4.1 innings 7/2: 3 in 5 innings 6/26: 5 in 5 innings 6/21: 4 in 7.0 innings Last quality start: 6/10, a month and a half ago. Hardly a knee-jerk reaction when it's based on 6 starts and 1.5 months of poor production.
  5. He hasn't even cracked AAA yet and its not like he has overpowering stuff.....I'd rather give hendrickson another shot in the big leagues Right, because it's automatically better to start a guy who has struggled at AAA than a guy who hasn't pitched there.
  6. Don't think we'll see Eveland starting anytime soon. Because of one outing in which he gave up one run in 1+ innings? Small sample police, have at it.
  7. Should be interesting to see how Dana does here after having to run the bases in the previous half inning. I'd kind of like to see stats from this season as to how pitchers have performed after having to run the bases like this. We've definitely seen a couple examples of implosions/struggles in the last few days alone.
  8. Should be interesting to see how Dana does here after having to run the bases in the previous half inning. Leadoff walk...
  9. He's would have bad outings too folks and the brewers want to limit his innings this year. Its not happening, let it go. Where has it been said that the Brewers wanted to limit his innings? That was just a theory put forth by Al, unless I missed a story somewhere. As far as 'letting it go,' I guarantee you that Dana will start at some point this year. Maybe it'd be easier to 'let it go' if a couple members of the rotation were pulling their weight...
  10. Ok.... now the offense has to keep it up.
  11. I'm fairly certain that Valentine is Santos' last batter regardless. It's up to him whether he gets the win or not.
  12. Victor is done, and doing his best to hand his rotation spot to Eveland in the process.
  13. Hey Billy- Could you make a more half-assed attempt at that relay throw? Thanks.
  14. Ok, this solid outing by Victor is quickly turning sour. What happened to that great splitter from an inning ago? He's thrown exactly 0 so far in the 5th.
  15. Looks like Victor has the good splitter tonight. I think a lot of his struggles have been due to the fact that the minor problem that he was having with his hand had neutralized that pitch.
  16. Weeks' defense makes Spivey look like a Gold Glover. Yipe. EDIT: Though yes, that should be Jenkins' ball. And it's not the first time he's done that to the infield this year.
  17. My best guess about Capuano is that since Eveland is likely unavailable, the longer we leave him in the less likely we are to see Walker and Edmonds...
  18. Looks like Lehr or DLR for 4 innings...
  19. Both pitchers had to run the bases in the previous half inning, and I'm sure its no coincidence that they both were smacked around.
  20. Great win for Indy. I'll give you a mulligan on that one, Peavey Ack. Funny thing is I probably wouldn't have given that one a second thought.
  21. Hart with another HR, and Stetter with his first AAA win. Great win for Indy.
  22. Sounds reliever Jeff Bennett was released from Summit Medical Center yesterday after spending the previous two days there with viral meningitis. When it was reported yesterday that they were expecting him to miss a couple weeks with flu-like symptoms, I had thought about the possibility of viral meningitis. Fortunately for him its the viral and not the considerably more serious bacterial variety.
  23. The only benefit of sacrificing there is if Weeks hit's a flyball deep enough to score the runner. Or if there's a wild pitch.... or a balk.... or a dropped third strike... or a passed ball.... or an errant throw from the pitcher.... or an infield base hit....
  24. What kind of 'flu-like' symptoms keep a guy out for weeks? Sounds like a very odd situation.
  25. Bennett actually pitched Friday night, so I don't think he's hurt.
