  1. Wasn’t a strike to Lara but that’s what stupid selfish challenges earlier in the game will get you in the 9th.
  2. As a Mitchell truther who thought he was finally breaking out, I’ve been so massively disappointed with him lately.
  3. I guess I just don’t know who the big bat is that people want. Someone like Otto Lopez would be amazing but the cost would be astronomical and he’s probably not realistically available. Any rental available is probably going to be a marginal upgrade that isn’t going to make any difference in being a division winner and top 2 seed or not and so you’re just pretty much paying for a few dozen ABs in October and hoping that they happen to be hotter during that time than whoever else would be the option.
  4. I probably would have just sat Miz down. This game is likely going in the L column anyway and it was a good load management opportunity with the low pitch count.
  5. My favorite Sunday lineup of the year and they lay a complete egg. Get ready for more Yelich leading off and a heavy dose of Lockridge.
  6. My gosh I am so sick of Wild Bill today. Had a chance for 1st and 2nd, 1 out and he hacks at ball 4 for a double play to end the inning.
  7. I had to capture the moment where we have 2 ABS challenges when the other team has 0 because this may never happen again, and I also managed to get a Chourio hit
  8. We don’t say this often but Miz is getting outdueled today. It doesn’t mean he’s been bad but Urena has been better.
  9. Vaughn has a higher OPS against right handed pitching this season than Yelich has overall.
  10. That’s exactly what you want to do with the top of the order up and a 2 run deficit, Hamilton. Make outs on the bases.
  11. Wild Bill hasn’t really done himself any favors for his free agency stock this season. Still would prefer to keep him but it’s no longer a “what are we going to do without this guy, he’s arguably our team MVP” situation.
  12. Pretty not ideal with the way we have been swinging the bats.
  13. Getting pretty deep with the conspiracy theories here. Isn’t it just as logical to assume that the Dodgers are going to throw the NLCS against us this time to defeat the narrative and ensure the status quo remains in collective bargaining?
  14. This sounds like a plot for the movie Major League 4.
  15. I can get my head around Pena and Hope comparison. I think that’s fair. Henderson and Ryan I am having a much harder time with. Henderson is, currently, a big part of the Brewer rotation. Ryan is still a flyer with too small of an MLB sample size to put much stock into. He was expendable for the Dodgers. For us dealing Henderson just fills a hole in our rotation by creating another hole.
  16. They can and should make some marginal improvements to their bullpen. Other than that they should just focus on winning the division with a top 2 NL record, and going into the postseason with Miz, Harrison, Henderson, Drohan, Uribe and Megill healthy and pitching at a high level. Those are the 1A and 1B priorities, neither more important than the other. They should quietly accept the fact that Yelich is washed and start giving some other players opportunities in run producing spots in the lineup while there is still time for adjustments before the end of the season and not expect that he is going to recover his bat speed against elite pitching and carry the offense in October.
  17. I’m fairly certain Mason Miller won’t be moved. The Padres are in the WC race, their GM is known for being aggressive and Miller isn’t a rental. There’s just very little motivation for them to move him unless they get blown away. Luke Weaver would be a nice get.
  18. They’re directly comparing Logan Henderson to River Ryan which is pretty much us comparing Will Smith to Gary Sanchez.
  19. I’m fine with a salary cap but the cap doesn’t itself really solve anything without other changes to supplement it like a salary floor and more comprehensive revenue sharing. Something closer to the NFL model than the current MLB model.
  20. Have there been any studies done that look at a large sample of MLB Pipeline Top 100 prospects in the modern era, say 2008-2025, and weighed how each prospect ended up performing in baseball relative to their team and ranking? I think that’d be a great analytical study to be able to weigh if market bias exists. River Ryan seems to be a textbook case. I can’t imagine if we had a 28 year old identical pitching prospect in our system that he would be regarded at all, but I also don’t really know if it really is justified. Drohan seems like our closest comparable but he was with the Red Sox organization when he was a prospect.
  21. Since he played for the Brewers last night, I would imagine so. He PH and struck out for Vaughn.
  22. Going to give the benefit of the doubt here and assume this is sarcasm, because yes, he knows. It is part of his full-time job. That doesn’t mean he has the stat sheets of all 780 MLB 26 man rostered players memorized, but there’s no surprises at this level. He has coaching staff and scouts helping him and would already know about his pitch mix, velocity, splits, etc, before he even came into the game. No MLB manager in 2026 is sincerely saying “wow, that Natera kid was nasty, I wonder who that was.” He knows.
  23. The talking heads who had they getting Made and Henderson from us for him were always just talking out of their rears and that was never going to happen. For a rental I thought they did fine. Hope is about Pena level for us and I would not have wanted to give up Pena for a rental.
