    That AB was a win even before he homered. Bauers on his own has forced Perez to throw 23(!) pitches in 2 ABs.

    Fantastic news, but yeah I think expectations should probably be in check as to any contributions this year. A 5 week progression would put things close to the end of the regular season, and even if there were no setbacks, he’d be awfully hard to trust for the playoff roster. I could see some sort of scenario where we need to swap out an overused arm from the NLDS and he gets on the NLCS, but this is still longshot of longshots. Happy for him if this means he will be ready to pitch next season and can get a contract.

    My apologies to Trey Smack after his training camp struggles. Whatever changed in the kicking operation since then, he looks phenomenal.
