  1. He had plenty of good luck in his first outing with us. The baseball gods didn’t force him to be erratic and walk two batters in the first and come inside too far on Arozarena in the 2nd,
  2. He’s had one singular really good start for us after a whole mixed bag of good and bad for the Cardinals this season.
  3. Looks like Sanchez might get another inning on the mound tonight.
  4. Holy cow, May. Even Sproat was better than this,
  5. Second start was great. First start was okay, some good, some bad, and a lot of luck and defense to get to his final line. This start has been horrific. You’re right. Unless JoJo becomes some sort of bullpen ace for us, pretty meh return.
  6. Literally not one person in the GT had declared the game over when you sarcastically declared the game over.
  7. Contreras with more failed challenges (2) than pitches seen (1) in the first inning.
  8. May is okay. Realistically, he is no better than the 4th best starter in our rotation, and maybe lower. The thing is, the price tag as a rental was something significantly higher than that. I try to be unbiased, both good and bad, about the moves we make or don’t make. If Matt Arnold had gotten Josiah Ragsdale and Alexander Frias for an okay reliever and okay starting pitcher on expiring contracts, 95% of the posters here would say “OMG. I can’t believe we got two high level outfield prospects for a couple of rentals that we won’t even miss. Matt Arnold is the genius to end all geniuses.” And we all damn well know that is true.
  9. It’s not just bad luck contact when your command is poor and you’re issuing free baserunners.
  10. Terrible start by May, and Wild Bill has already blown both challenges in the 1st inning.
  11. I just found out today that the Schuckers have lost 12 straight games and have won 1 game in August. I just kind of assumed they were very good.
  12. The White Sox pitching to him with 1st base open in the 10th inning in the opener of their series was beyond dumb. If the Brewers swapped places with the White Sox, they’d be 16.5 games up on the division and 15 games up on the 3 seed. Basically in mid August their focus would already be lining up their rotation for the ALDS and balancing rest with momentum in September,
  13. Why do switch hitters usually bat R/R against right handed position players? Like what’s the reasoning ?
  14. Right! And I know this is tongue in cheek, but for anyone who doesn’t know, you can only pitch position players in spending circumstances (late blowout games, basically)
  15. So Lara raised his OPS to .690 tonight. There might however be a bit of an asterisk on it…
  16. Correction, Yelich, Hamilton and Lara homering tonight was not on my bingo card.
  17. Yelich and Hamilton with big flies tonight was not on my bingo card.
  18. Nice outing for Harrison so far but the velocity would make it really hard to trust him with big stakes right now.
  19. Guess we can thank the New York Mets for that one, which is surprising because normally they’re such a well run organization.
  20. Ortiz was not good at all for an entire season and a half, though.
  21. PCA ended last nights’ game with a HR and started today’s with one. I hate him but he is ridiculously good.
