  1. Unfortunately that seems to be more of the norm these days, which is why I don’t advocate for bunting much.
  2. Lockridge is a fine 5th OFer, but he’s far from a plug and play. Needed a better result from Turang that inning.
  3. Turang has had some fine ABs in this stretch, but that definitely wasn’t one of them.
  4. Appears that Murphy has abandoned the soft platoon at 3rd and decided that Seigler is strictly a bench guy. Of course, Littell has pretty neutral splits, even slightly reverse, so maybe that’s all it is.
  5. I see no reason to concern ourselves with the Cubs’ day to day performance anymore. We are 8.5 games up. We got this. If not, if we blow that lead, we’ll have bigger problems than the Cubs. Won’t keep winning at a .800+ clip, but play out the rest of the season to our capabilities and we’ll be the 1 seed.
  6. We enter today at #1 in MLB in runs scored, and #3 in runs allowed. That seems good.
  7. It’s unfortunate that some players can’t control their inhibitions 9 months prior to the months of April-October.
  8. He’s going to be great, but he still has more work to do. He’s going to be a fun guy to have moving forward. I have no illusions of him being a contributor for us in the playoffs this year.
  9. Yeah, he won’t be close. He had a great night. Part of the beauty of the makeup of this team is that we don’t really have a legitimate star, and any of the guys could be our best guy on any given night.
  10. Love Yeli, but he may not be the MVP of his own team. Ohtani has a 1.021 OPS, he’s going to run away with it.
  11. Just wild. Wouldn’t have been fitting if this streak didn’t also include the biggest comeback of the season.
  12. Speaking of egregiously bad, lol. Tight zone all night and then he goes out of the zone to ring up Turang.
  13. I’m all about calling out umps for bad performance. But I’m more about doing it on egregiously bad calls — to me these ones split hairs — pitches like this will be 50/50 until the robots are here (which can’t happen soon enough).
  14. Man these Red fans are babies. That Strike 3 to Friedl had plenty of the plate.
  15. You guys won’t believe this (or maybe you will after the last month and a half), but the oft-maligned Brewers’ offense in the 1st half of the season, are currently, at this moment, the #1 offense in MLB in runs scored.
  16. Don’t throw to the lower outside part of the strike zone with this umpire. He isn’t aware that it exists.
  17. You know what? This game started early. I’m down with an old school 3 and a half hour game tonight.
  18. Blake Perkins and Isaac Collins can rest assured that their jobs are quite safe when they return.
  19. This ump is a bum but can’t blame this inning on him. Miz couldn’t throw strikes.
  20. That was a good AB til that 3-2 guess. Then putting the bat down like he was headed to 1st? That was damn near down the middle.
  21. Yeah, might be. If so, is what it is. It sure hasn’t felt like it lately, but we will lose more games yet this season.
