  1. Honestly at 4-0 it doesn't even matter anymore. Might as well let Perez pitch, we're not scoring 5 runs.
  2. I went to one last month, wouldn't waste my time or money right now.
  3. LOL this offense...2-0 might as well be 20-0. The Cubs just refuse to run away with the division but our hitters can do nothing about it.
  4. Might be the easiest back to back complete game shutouts of Colon's career.
  5. Basically the offensive rally cry of the entire second half.
  6. Given that they're on pace for 83 wins and have probably played a little over their heads, and have some really tough series matchups remaining, I'd say a .500 season sounds about right. They're not a playoff team, barring an incredible stroke of luck of the Cubs, Pirates and Cardinals all finishing 80-82. I said when they were still in 1st that I thought it is pretty equally likely that they finish 4th as 1st. Probably even more so now.
  7. This started being posted 3 weeks ago.... Whole lot of time left for it to be true. They'll be 2 games ahead of 4th after tonight.
  8. Screw it, may as well put together a big rally and lose this one 10-9.
  9. Gotta love the gutsy decking out of the Vikings jersey for Villar. Like he hasn't done enough this year to infuriate every Wisconsin sports fan.
  10. Is anyone remotely shocked that the moment this offense started scoring more than 3 runs a game, the pitching started getting tagged?
  11. Because you don't care for him. That's all comments like these are about. Yeah but I don't care for him because he is bad and his pitching style. He nibbles, walks guys intentionally "unintentional" because he wants to start fresh next batter thinking he can get out of it. I think he gets too much hate, but everyone talks about him like he's such a great value next year at 5M. His FIP is already over 4 and xFIP near 5, and that was before tonight, they'll be much higher now. His peripherals aren't good, and they don't suggest he'll be a good pitcher going forward. His ERA shot up to from 3.68 to 4.24 just from tonight. It's totally realistically possible he'll be over 4.50 at the end of the season with an xFIP over 5 and then that option is looking like a lot less of a sure thing especially if you have better options.
  12. It's still entirely possible that Garza's "no brainer" 5M option looks like a lot less of a no-brainer in 2 months.
  13. He did, then took off when it got past mauer That's what I get for trusting what Rock said.
  14. I'll give him credit when he finally gets it done but that wasn't it. They had a play at home. Surprised they didn't go there.
  15. Don't think you pitch around Braun to get to Shaw, even though Shaw hasn't hit much lately.
  16. How does a double play without a run scoring and a strikeout sound? Not very good. I hope we do better than that.
  17. 1st and 3rd nobody out. Can we do anything with it?
  18. We were way ahead in that category a couple months ago IIRC, doubt it has changed.
  19. It's insanely noticeable how much better of a pitch framer Pina is than Susac.
