  1. Suter is not a pitcher that can afford to struggle with his command. Like, ever.
  2. Nice work, Suter. Said to my dad yesterday, "I have absolutely no doubt that the minute we finally start to get the bats going, the pitchers will start getting tagged."
  3. Enough tonight with the stupid behind the catcher at the pitch camera angle.
  4. Just a dumb throw from Braun there. Broxton did that same thing a day or two ago and allowed the trail runner to advance, but I expect better from Braun.
  5. Broxton is just that inconsistent. If he could pull off that vudu magic, he should so it more often. Maybe he's got a season long-bait going on and has been sandbagging the entire season to flip the switch at the right time in August and carry us to the division title.
  6. Ever notice that almost every homeplate ump expands their zone on a 3-0 count, and shrinks it on 0-2?
  7. My God would you let it go...just because everyone does not agree with you about bunting does not make you right nor make it the end of the world that they don't agree.
  8. For as much as people want to run him out of town, he really does have a lot. I know he's 27. Not every player follows the same timeline. Nelson Cruz wasn't worth a crap until he was 28.
  9. These ABs are despicable. Not really a mystery as to why the offensive slump has been so bad with ABs like Aguilar and Perez just had.
  10. Aguilar definitely in the running for ugliest AB of the year with that one.
  11. Really not sure where the roster instability theory is coming from. We have been almost entirely stable at every position besides CF and 2B. Broxton hasn't built on his 2nd half last year as hoped, but he's not the awful black hole that people like to make him out to be. Brinson and Phillips unfortunately haven't shown readiness to produce at the MLB level, yet. Villar has been pretty bad, but they did a good job calling up the right guy in Sogard and taking advantage of his bat while it lasted, which unfortunately looks to be gone now. But coming into the year, given how good Villar was, we appeared to be well set at 2nd. The rotation has been rock solid. There hasn't been much instability there in months, other than Guerra being demoted which I think we can all understand. Any other instability has simply been the result of injuries. The most unstable part of the team has beem the pen, for obvious reasons, and I think most are in favor of the roster churn there.
  12. Just like those empty statements when the deadline expired of "We were in discussions with teams for position players and pitchers" blah blah blah. Placating the fans until/unless the make a deal. What is he supposed to say? "Yeah, we almost had Quintana, and we almost had Gray, and this is what we were offering." We did leverage the market inefficiency on rentals by adding Swarzak. That was a pretty important need. Other than that, I don't know what you want. Adding another mediocre bat like Granderson isn't going to get everyone out of their funk. Our starting pitching since the deadline has been phenomenal; adding Gray or Quintana wouldn't have made a bit of difference right now. They have stayed within a half game despite the storm. They do need to weigh both the present and future.
  13. Nothing like wearing a Vikings jersey to make Wisconsin sports fans forget about how awful you've been this year.
  14. People would take you a lot more seriously if you explained things logically rather than just 'rabble rabble rabble, back in the old days!!' Saying it was done this way for ages isn't good enough. Shifting wasn't done for ages either. Things change. I'm not saying I wouldn't have wanted to see a bunt there. I wouldn't have minded but I see the logic against it, too. It's no more of a sure thing than what we did. If it was, we could have sac bunted and then squeezed and had a 2-1 lead; if it waa that certain I'm sure we would have done it.
  15. Nice location, Barnes. Yet another putrid offensive performance.
  16. If I'm remembering right the 'God Bless America ' started as a post 9-11 thing that just kind of stuck, and if I'm noticing right they must have just started limiting it to Sundays this season.
  17. Boy I really thought he beat that out. Bang bang for sure. Given the importance of the call I'm surprised that they didn't ask for another look.
  18. I can't remember ever seeing a team that swings and misses at so many pitches that are literally right down the middle of the plate.
  19. I swear Travis Shaw gets screwed on more bad strike calls than anyone else in baseball.
