  1. This is as bad as I've seen Knebel look all year. Can't throw his fastball for a strike, can't get his curve over for a strike much. That called strike 1 to Gordon was a gift.
  2. I mean great throws by Perez and Arcia, and close play at the plate, it's not like he was out by a mile, but terrible send with nobody out.
  3. Two things the Brewers need to do in the next 5 years is win a World Series and throw a no-hitter so we can stop hearing about 1982 and Juan Nieves every night.
  4. Well, Vogt has more than made up for that bad throw earlier, ha.
  5. I agree 100%. What is the logic of letting Garza hit and then replace him? Did he tweak something? Especially with Braun and Thames available you need to at least take the chance. The way it sounded Thames isn't available. That would make for the short bench and the reason why you can't burn a PH that early. Hadn't heard that, but I'd still use a PH in a 1 run game. Given that Thames has been terrible lately and we already have a short bench, if he's unavailable for the 2nd straight day, why in the world is he not on the DL?
  6. 'Out of character there for Perez, chasing' Uh, actually no its not BA. Perez has probably the worst plate eye on the team.
  7. I don't understand why you would ever let the pitcher bat for himself and then pull him in a 1 run game. What is the harm in throwing Braun or Thames in there and giving them a chance to tie it?
  8. Can't believe I've been watching the legendary Bob Uecker get sausages waved in his face now every day for half a season.
  9. We are going to be in danger of forfeiting this game if the baseball throwing on the field continues. Yes, the umpires can do that.
  10. Nice work by Garza getting out of it with nothing further to keep us in it.
  11. Glad it worked out, but can't believe they didn't just walk Stanton.
  12. LOL, there seriously cannot be a worse defender in baseball than Matt Garza. He is absolutely atrocious.
  13. Wow, real cannon there from Vogt. Not crazy about Vogt taking a lot of playing time away from Pina, who would have nailed the runner easily there.
  14. Someone threw a baseball onto the field and hit Joe West right on top of the noggin. They think it came from the upper deck.
  15. If that really came from the terrace section, Joe West is way tougher than I would have ever given him credit for.
  16. I can't believe Sogard was thrown out by that much. Figured he'd be halfway down the line watching .
  17. Also, I love Knebel and he's been so awesome but it kills me to lose a game on basically a walk, on the one guy you absolutely cannot walk. Hamilton has a terrible bat. He's of little danger until he's on base. So don't even take a chance on doing that. Don't even go into a 3 ball count on him, just go after him. If he beats you, so be it.
  18. I have questioned this staff in the past as well, especially after how terrible Brevard County was. Pitching has been the strength while the teams combined batting average is .241 (last in the league). All the other stats (ops & slg) are in the middle of the pact. I don't know this staff and watch them enough to know or think if they should be let go, but in the minors its not all about results but more about development. With that said it still doesn't look good to have this many top prospects struggle, especially with how some of the positional prospects performed for this staff last yr. Do we at least need to look at a new hitting coach? The amount of top prospects in this lineup struggling badly all year is just staggering.
  19. I would also sell, or at least, not buy. Chase Anderson is heading to the DL and going to miss significant time. Unless you think Nelson and Davies are going to carry this rotation it's just not happening this year IMO. Stay the course on the rebuild. This was never meant to be 'our' year, but we've learned some things and likely found our 3B of the next 5 years.
  20. Maybe they won't. But maybe they will be. I'm guessing you didn't have them in first after 80 games either. You just never know when the streaks are gonna happen. Maybe they will go win 10-15 straight in August? You just never know but I do know they are in a good position to compete for the division. I didn't have them in 1st after 80 games because I didn't think the rest of the division would be this bad. 41-39 isn't that hard to believe .
  21. They were never going to run away with it, but this was the stretch where they had the opportunity against a soft schedule to really put some ground between them and the rest of the division. I never thought they'd run away with it, but I thought if they really were a contender, they'd build on this stretch and start making hay on the easy schedule . They haven't . I think this is just a .500 team -- and they basically have been.
  22. First place? We're 2 games over . 500. Let's be honest, we're in 1st because the rest of the division has stunk, and that's not going to hold up for 162 games. Given pre season expectations we are just playing about right where we should be, maybe a little better. But this isn't a playoff team after 162 games.
