Love Bandy. Big Bandy fan. But man, you can't just sit there and watch a 3rd strike fastball right down the middle with 2 out and 2 in scoring position.

I'm glad Collins didn't challenge. Personally I thought Conforto might have snuck his hand in there. Good chance it would have been ruled indisputable though.

Knebel has 5 years almost of cheap control remaining. They better get blown away if they are going to deal him.

I'm really close to allowing myself to believe that this really is a .500 or so quality team with the chance to do a little bit better than that if luck falls their way. I'm just not quite there yet.

He just said earlier today he's going to get him out of the late innings for awhile and let him get right. Wouldn't be a very good look for him to go back on that the very same day, especially if Feliz ended up blowing another.

They have a lot of possibilities. Knebel is probably the favorite at the moment. Hader and Taylor Williams for sure have a chance. Maybe even Bickford or Medeiros. They don't need to groom anyone to be 'closer', Just let things run their course down on the farm and they have enough power arms that one of them is going to end up standing out as the right fit.

Barnes is awful tonight. Can we seriously not even feel comfortable about a 5 run lead with 3 outs to go? Ridiculous .

Think they just really liked Maldonado's glove. Not sure. Can't imagine that non - prospect Drew Gagnon tipped the scales much but who knows. I liked that deal a lot for us when we made it and obviously still do.

Ironically if Shaw doesn't strike out, the run doesn't score, since it would have been a walk and no throw to 2nd. Of course it would have only been 5-2 there but with the bases loaded and 1 out, so take your pick. In a 5-2 game I think I'll take the guaranteed 4th insurance run.

Gotta say great baserunning by Villar, right? Even though it's kind of a given he needs to try to score there.

Need to get Garza out, he's been serving up meatballs since he got the first out this inning.

I'm not saying he won't figure it out eventually, but right now a .270 OBP is a pretty bad number to be setting the table.

There's really no reason for Villar to continue to be leading off. I'm not calling for his benching, but let the guy try to figure it out at the bottom of the order for awhile. If you're willing to pull the plug on Feliz as closer until he can figure it out you might as well do the same with Villar at leadoff.

I had pretty much given Garza up for dead, so I have to say I'm impressed since his return.

Just bunt the damn thing if it's in the strike zone. Pull it back twice on strikes and all of the sudden you're out and you didn't get a sac bunt down again. EDIT: I forgot that Garza and Sogard had that big feud, so maybe Garza just hates him that much where he doesn't want to sac bunt him over, ha.

Speaking of 1st round picks, Medeiros had a really nice outing for Carolina tonight. He's slowly been improving. Would be great if he can put it all together and become an electric lefty out of the pen.
