I believe this board has a friend/foe feature to manage those who you are not interested in seeing posts from. Pretty simple solution IMO.

I know this is reactionary based on a month and obviously not official, but if I had to update my top 10 Brewer prospects today based on what we've seen so far this season, I'd go 1) Brinson 2) Woodruff 3) Diaz 4) Hader 5) Ray 6) Phillips 7) Cordell 8) Lopez 9) Ortiz 10) Clark Exciting thing is I think 6 of these guys at least could come in and be effective big leaguers right now.

Woodruff has been lights out. If he keeps it up, it's going to be hard to keep him out of the rotation past June. He's got a 5-0 record with a 1.83 ERA. In Colorado Springs, not Biloxi.

Yeah, Woodruff has been kind of overshadowed by Hader, but he shouldn't be. Dude is dominating Colorado Springs. Even at home.

I still think we really underrate Shaw.

No surprise and good news in that we just saved over a million bucks. I wonder how much of his waiver placement timing was strategic by Stearns knowing the dire straits of the Mets rotation and wanting to get him off the books.

Villar isn't getting platooned, at least not this early. He was a highly effective player last year and they need to give him more than a month to show he can be that player again. With that said I would also be in favor of him moving out of the leadoff spot -- it might make sense to flip him with Broxton right now. They need to have a longer leash than this as a starter but not necessarily as a leadoff man. I do wonder how often it creeps into his mind that he turned down 20 million dollars and what it's going to mean for his financial future if he can't get it together.

This is now his 7th straight game out of the lineup. In retrospect keeping him day to day and not just putting him on the 10 day from the get go and calling up one of our multiple great OF prospect options was probably not the right decision. It would have saved us from a short bench and the amount of Nick Franklin playing time we've seen since then.

The only danger in walking them both is now you set it up for a possible walkoff walk or HBP. Which with Feliz is a valid concern. But I agree that doing nothing and just pitching to Harrison with a drawn in infield and first base open isn't the right call IMO. Crazy as it may sound I would have just loaded them and taken a shot at McCutcheon who has been ice cold for a long time. Plus he is a big strikeout candidate. At the very least you need to put someone on first so you can play your normal infield and try to get out of it with a ground ball .

Shaw has a pretty good glove at 3rd. Not elite but certainly better than replacement level.

Definitely Franklin's days are numbered. The way DeJesus has played, Franklin is lucky to still be around. All 3 prospect OFers in Colorado Springs are having great seasons so far in Brinson, Phillips and Cordell. Once it is feasible for service time concerns to bring any up, there's no reason to keep Franklin around, especially because as you mentioned Cordell has some positional flexibility as well, and we already have Perez who can play anywhere. Frankly I'm shocked Michael Reed is still on the 40. He isn't performing all that well in Biloxi, and isn't that young or much of a prospect anymore, not to mention he's buried behind about 8 better options. I would expexr him to be traded or DFAed at some point this year. I would also think the way the Sky Sox outfielders are performing is going to shorten the leash for Santana. Broxton's superior glove probably gives him more leeway, but Santana's lack of one could cost him his spot at some point if he isn't slugging.

Crazy to think Dillard could get up to the big league club this year. I honestly thought he was more of a sideshow, part player, part commentator, part blogger at this point, no disrespect intended.

I agree with this 100%. Bullpen help is not cheap. That's why the price was so high for Thornburg, Smith, and to an extent Jeffress. Sadly, IMHO the bullpen help will need to come from within. Maybe Hader(ala Andrew Miller), maybe Woodruff, maybe Jorge Lopez, maybe Kodi Meideros, maybe Luis Ortiz, etc. Why sadly? Obviously it wouldn't be ideal if Woodruff ends up being a reliever, but the one thing the Brewers have been able to do really well the last few years is keep churning out good, hard throwing relievers...and then turning them around. Given that we're still a couple years from being a realistic contender I wouldn't even be looking for any BP help. Relievers are the last piece of the puzzle and we aren't all that close to having the 1st two pieces filled yet. We have an idea who they'll be....but just an idea. I do know I hope of all the players listed the Brewers don't do anything with Broxton. He may continue to struggle and end up doing nothing, but I doubt we'd have gotten anything for him after a hot stretch last year and he'd be worth next to nothing now. But we have seen first hand just how talented he is and how good he can be. I think as soon as he stops pressing and relaxes...he'll get in a grove, start drawing walks and then start driving the ball. It may not be logical, but he might be my favorite younger guy on the team right now...and he could allow us to trade one of the many talented young OF'ers in the future for a starter. Nothing wrong with being high on Broxton. I am myself. He's still got an OPS over .700. In my opinion he's doing just fine. After late last summer and this spring, we probably expected too much from him, not saying he doesn't have room for big improvement. But I agree, Broxton is one of those guys that doesn't make a lot of sense to trade unless you get blown away with a surprise offer. Upside seems to exceed trade value here.

Kind of late to ask this now, but why couldn't the starters go back in after the rain delay last night, and after long delays in general? I really know nothing about what it does to a pitcher's arm to go for a few innings and then shut it down for a couple hours. I'm just curious as to what happens physically that they can't continue to go more, I never pitched and just don't really understand what happens there I guess. Is there just a highly elevated risk of injury at that point, or what? Just curious.

Sooner or later this back and forth will stop and we'll either put together an 8 or 9 game winning streak and establish ourselves as a surprise team or an 8 or 9 game losing streak and reinforce our status as rebuilders. Hopefully it is the former.

Yah, I think it is pretty unusual for an MLB trade to have a performance component to it. I doubt any of the players on the agreed-upon list will be yanked because Tyler got hurt. Wasn't the CC trade with Green vs. Brantley as the PTBNL based on performance of CC? Not directly. It was based on the Brewers' performance. Had they missed the playoffs the Brewers would have chosen the player from the PTBNL list. They made the playoffs, so it was the Indians' choice.

I love the good ole fan roof, but some days I do wish we could have real feeling outdoor baseball stadium. Not to mention it visually leaves a bit to be desired in a general sense. I have to drive 3 hours to Milwaukee so it's nice for me to know that the game will be played. And right on cue there's the rain delay.

Seconded. I must be higher on Shaw than most. I think he's going to be a pretty good player. Not a perennial All-star or anything but reliable and a bit above average for his position.
