  1. They just have to do the wave in a crucial game situation? Sit down .
  2. Well, pretty weak sauce there, Aguilar, but at least got Orlando to 2nd.
  3. Atta boy Orlando. Gotta have a run this inning.
  4. Yeah, he was probably safe. I don't think it was indisputable but no way do they give us the out if it isn't called that way on the field. With that said I'm glad they correctly ruled it indisputable instead of 'It's not totally indisputable but it sure LOOKS that way so we're going to change it',, like they often do.
  5. Big scoring opportunity in the 1st and we don't capitalize. A great catch followed by a bad throw and even worse backup job leads to a run with the pitcher waiting to bat. A missed bunt with 2 strikes and a runner on 3rd with one out , runner caught down the line as the strikeout occurs and suddenly it's a double play. Should be up at least 2-1, and we're down. This is why we're the Brewers, and this is why we always lose more games than we should .
  6. Torres 2 mistakes in one AB. He has been bad. Counsell's first move to the pen is always so random. Chase cruising with under 90 pitches? Get him out of there. Nelson laboring with a high pitch count? Let it ride.
  7. Damnit Braun. Does Lance Lynn always own us this much, or does it just feel like it?
  8. But at least we don't have to see Uecker sniffing sausages blindfolded tonight. It's a tradeoff.
  9. Yeah, I have no idea what that was. Just dumb to try bunting with 2 strikes, 1 out, and a guy on 3rd anyway when he's already failed multiple times getting it down. What was he thinking? Just give Anderson a shot at putting it in play with a flyball or RBI grounder, otherwise you've still got a shot with Villar. Cripes.
  10. That was one pitiful squeeze attempt. Glad Anderson has been a better pitcher this year than he is a bunter. EDIT: It doesn't even look like it was a squeeze. I have no idea what it was really or what Anderson was doing still bunting. It was just dumb baseball. Did no one remind Anderson that it was no longer a sac play, or what?
  11. Santana really started all of this in the 1st when he's got 2 runners in scoring position with 1 out and inexplicably takes a perfect 3rd strike, and so we end up getting nothing else. Had our chance to get to Lynn early and since then we've got nothing .
  12. Santana looked like s 5 year old girl trying to make contact in T-ball on that 3rd strike.
  13. Pretty terrible throw, but yeah, Thames absolutely can't let that ball get all the way out of play like that. The kicker is that the pitcher was coming up so you're most likely out of the inning already anyway and we pull that.
  14. Wow. Talk about a great defensive play turned into a terrible one. Are you kidding me? What a gift run for the Cardinals.
  15. Are we playing with giant holes in our bats today? Can't recall seeing so many missed strikes by Brewer hitters.
  16. Someone from Elias Sports Bureau needs to figure out how many times in MLB history a team has led off every inning the first 3 innings with a double and failed to score every time.
  17. Now that was a much worse pitch called Strike 3 on Broxton than the one Wong and Matheny were up in arms about.
  18. Put a sock in it, Cardinals, that was a good pitch.
  19. Just inexcusable for Santana not to be protecting there. 2nd and 3rd and 1 out. At least try to put the ball in play, don't get caught staring at a pitch right down the middle.
  20. Before anyone bums out about the game not being on (I was earlier), it's on FS1. Channel 219 for Directv.
  21. If the Crew is scuffling a little bit going into the break, Thames is still mashing and Peralta is pitching great still, I'd certainly entertain a Thames and Peralta to Houston for Martes, Paulino, AJ Reed and JD Davis. Turn to the Dodgers and get two of their top arms and our farm system goes to #1 really fast Peralta is pitching great? He has a 4.71 ERA, 4.32 FIP and 4.90 xFIP, and his walks are up and Ks are down. Couple nice outings I guess but for the most part same old Wily and no real trade value.
  22. So you cared that Broxton didn't play every single game but a more highly thought of prospect in Phillips who is a lot younger than Broxton is okay to have sit on the bench most days? Well, I'm quite a bit higher on Brinson than Phillips, which is why I said I'd prefer for him to still have an everyday job, but I wouldn't have a problem with a cup of coffee for Phillips soon. Like I said before it doesn't have to be a permanent promotion or role. Just a chance for him to get his feet wet against MLB pitching. Even Prince has a role like that for a bit the first time he was called up. Braun, Broxton, Santana, will all be needing days off from time to time. My issue last year with Nieuwenhuis was never the fact that they were mixing in another guy, it was mixing in another guy who was clearly just a career journeyman bench guy with no future with the club, in a clear rebuilding year. If they mixed in Phillips as the 4th guy similar to how they did with Perez in the IF and OF last year I'm good with that. And part of it is just excitement over a young prospect. Is it better for Phillips to have an every day role in AAA right now, probably, but I'm excited to see if he can help us now, especially since we have a better team than last year.
