  1. Blow opportunities for insurance earlier, and here we are, now blowing another 3 run lead.
  2. Once again, can't explain how much I detest walking guys in a close game. We may lose this game on walks.
  3. If the Brewers have a bird whisperer in their clubhouse, get them to go after Lackey and Bosio. Or at least not in front of the camera anymore .
  4. Way to go Barnes! Would feel a lot better with some insurance here. Knebel and Feliz are bound to crack a bit at some point.
  5. See, that would have been just fine to give up with 2 outs and no one on, but you had to walk a couple guys first, and now it hurts you.
  6. Walking 2 straight guys with a 3 run lead. Just wow, Torres.
  7. Much better contact by Broxton there. Still an out but that was a positive sign.
  8. I strongly disagree with the mentality of keeping a guy just because we can afford him. I'm not arguing that we should trade him, but we need more of a reason to keep a guy beyond just being financially able to.
  9. Hendricks wants nothing to do with the deadly bat of Tommy Milone.
  10. I wish he'd take a page from Arcia and start going after the first pitch when they're throwing to him like this. But even when he does make contact on hittable pitches right now he's just fouling them off.
  11. Broxton caught staring again. At this point I just want to see him put one in play. Yikes.
  12. Phillips with 2 HR and 6 RBI with 3 walks for the Sky Sox, up to .318. Great to see him getting it going.
  13. Never seen Perez take so many close pitches in one AB. I can't tell if he is consciously trying to be more patient or just got some dumb luck.
  14. I'm pretty much right where you're at on the pitching staff and lineup. I believe in our hitters, I really do. But right now we have a rotation with no ace and chock full of #4s, until proven otherwise. Maybe Hader can be an ace, maybe Woodruff can be a #2, maybe Guerra is for real. But we can't assume it yet.
  15. Pitchers just don't even want to deal with Thames right now.
  16. Thanks Villar, I try to defend you and you just go up there and play statue.
  17. Really because for the most part I recall horrible contact. Yesterday was soft grounders galore. I'd like to see more solid contact certainly but the leadoff today certainly qualified. For what it's worth he's put the ball in play in 10 of his last 12 ABs even though all were outs. So I feel like he is at least close. I look at Broxton to compare, and I really like Keon, but he just looks lost and overmatched. I don't know if it's just one of those things where he's slumping or if getting hit in the face is in his head.
  18. 88 MPH right down the middle. What a treat it is to watch Milone pitch. For Cubs fans, anyway.
  19. Lol, is Contreras really that arrogant and whiney? Flipped the bat aside and started to trot to 1st on a 3-1 pitch that was almost right down the middle, and then the 3-2 pitch itself easily was on the corner.
  20. I don't know what the answer is with Broxton right now. You certainly don't give up on him, much too early, but he may need another few week stint in Colorado Springs to work on things a bit. He's about to come up, maybe he'll give us a positive sign here... Or he'll just sit up there and stare at 5 pitches.
  21. I thought one of Susac, Pina and Bandy had a chance to be serviceable. I didn't think that Bandy and Pina would be looking like the best catching tandem in MLB after the first couple weeks.
  22. I don't know what the answer is with Broxton right now. You certainly don't give up on him, much too early, but he may need another few week stint in Colorado Springs to work on things a bit. He's about to come up, maybe he'll give us a positive sign here...
  23. He is going to get a shot a lot sooner if he hits and Broxton doesn't. Both could get calls, but I would think Brinson would be more of the direct replacement for Broxton if Broxton doesn't get it together. Phillips seems more likely to end up with a Nieuwenhuis 2016 type role, 400 prorated PAs or so and moving all over the OF.
