    I feel the same, but it does sadden me a bit to realize that I may just never see a Brewer World Series in my lifetime. It was a little like being a fan of the Badger football in their best years, where you have to accept that a Rose Bowl is your championship, you’re not competing for championships. In a similar way, winning the division and beating the Cubs felt like ours. We’ve had period where we could have broken through, 2011 in particular I think, but it just hasn’t happened. I look at teams like the Royals and think why not us, but luck and circumstance just hasn’t lined up for us. The Dodgers are what we are except they have money, which is an enormous advantage, but their rise has really only occurred over the last 5-10 years and it’s really hurt our higher aspirations. We’re well run enough, that’s not the problem. But the Dodgers have always had money, but now they’re also a finely tuned organization, whereas going back some years ago they just had piles of money and didn’t know what to do with it. Now they’ve put more of an emphasis on scouting and development and really put some distance between them and the NL.

    Unfortunately, it’s a staff full of aces with no easy outs. It’s on us at this point. We can hit elite pitching when we’re right. We’ve always hit Skenes well. Yamamoto didn’t even make it out of the 1st last time, and then he goes 9 yesterday. Game 1 felt like it was more about how amazing Snell was and Game 2, not that Yamamoto wasn’t great, felt more about us not swinging the bats well.

    I didn’t say I didn’t like you. I clarified what @wiguy94 was trying to say and said I think you know what he was trying to say.

    I’m irrationally pissed at Brice and wish I wasn’t. (I did say irrationally. I understand that it’s irrational, but I remain pissed). If Brice doesn’t move we’re almost certainly winning the game. We’ve got Vaughn up with the bases still loaded and Trienen is all over the place with just a walk, wild pitch or hit away from game over, and even if that doesn’t happen, extras. This franchise hasn’t been to a World Series in 43 years so of course the guy we send up to the plate didn’t have the foresight to think “I’ve got to wear one if it comes at me”. Easier said than done, I suppose. You’re right, the entire series turned on that one pitch and when he whiffed on the next one you just knew we missed our shot.

    Well, all we can do now is go out on Thursday and try to win a baseball game. Do I think we will, no, probably not, but just one game. If you do you’re in the closest position that the trailing team can be after any Game 3.

    There is hopefully a modest upgrade to Ortiz out there though for at least the ‘26 and ‘27 seasons.

    He’s been worthwhile enough in the regular season, but he really needed a few October moments. He’s done the opposite. You have a 21 year old on this roster who has looked far more mentally tough when it comes to playoff baseball.

    1 inning of the Dodger bullpen that we saw in 2 games. 1 inning. That is sad.

    Murphy’s kids woken up minutes ago being rushed by Uber to AmFam for the press conference.

    It’s always sad when your season is winding to a close. I’ll always still be grateful that our season didn’t end at the hands of the Cubs.

    1.6 runs per game since Game 2 of the NLDS. That will not cut the mustard.

    Be funny if the Dodger players were causing a salary cap for themselves right now in 3 years and they don’t even know it right now.

    I dunno. They’ll fight but they are pretty outmanned. I’d like to just not get swept. Make them take it to 5 and at least threaten to take it back to Milwaukee.

    8 innings from both Snell and Yamamoto. I’m not sure the last time we had a pitcher go 8 innings and the Dodgers did it on back to back days. Had to steal yesterday to stay in this. Didn’t do it. Hate to put it on one guy, but Turang had a shot to be a hero and failed miserably on two straight pitches.

    Kind of wish he wasn’t on ours.

    That “L” flag celebration at the end of the Cubs’ series was always cringey and looks worse now. My first thought was “this is going to become a talking point and a punchline if we don’t win again this year”, and that looks like that might be exactly what happens. That moment should have been about the Brewers, not the Cubs.

    Hardly a season to be ashamed of just because it likely ends here.

    This is why I said last night that we absolutely had to steal last nights’ game late and how devastating it would be that we didn’t. It wasn’t to be negative. It’s just that we have to get the breaks to win this series. We can’t win without luck.

    We haven’t scored more than 3 runs since Game 2 of the NLDS. Freddy is not really the problem.

    I don’t think we peaked too soon. We just ran into a true jaggaranaut with big pockets.
